Honestly the WOSRT experience I have ever had in my life at a financial institution. I was recently approved for a simple car loan at Monterey credit union. Not only were the employees rude to me, they were rude to each other. While meeting with a banker she needed to call another credit union employee to figure out the answer to a question I asked. At the end of the conversation she exclaimed to me (and the rest of the bank) "SHE THINKS I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO MY JOB." This was at the Soquel branch. The overall customer service experience was embarrassingly bad. If you are thinking about using Monterey credit union, take a look at their Yelp/ Google Places ranking and ask yourself: why have so many people taken time out of their busy days to write about their negative experiences with this company?

Ive banked with the credit union since 1989 and I used to love this bank ! I went fom a no charge checking account to having $12.00 each month taken out of my checking account . It went from $7.00 to $12.00 with no notice . My other bank doesnt charge me a monthly fee. I remember when banks used to give gifts to open an account and you would get intrest on the money you kept in there. Now I have to pay to keep my money in a checking account?? Any mistake with my deposit costs another $5.00 . The staff is not very friendly, they dont make much of an effort , maybe if you have a lot of money . ive noticed when I had a big balance they were a lot more accomodating .

I visited this Credit Union today and had a very good experience (6-17-2014). The only glitch was the ATM was temp. out of service. Once inside a very cheerful and helpful young lady (Naomi) helped me walk through the transaction. A few minutes and I was on my way. Thank you very much!
