I am thrilled with Modern Mechanical! We needed a new A/C Unit and upon calling Modern, we learned that replacing our entire system would be cost effective. Jeremiah went over all the options with us and we decided together what would work best for our situation. He set some expectations for the products, level of service we would receive, and the process for installation. We scheduled the service for a few days later! Our technicians Kenny and Tyler showed up during their time window and did an incredible job removing our old units and installing new ones. They spent time making sure we knew how to operate everything and answered all of our questions. They did not leave a trace of even being here - a VERY clean job. They were so polite and made sure that we were 100% satisfied before they left. I am impressed beyond words by Modern Mechanical and cannot wait to recommend them to everyone I know.

Paul and Travis arrived on time to install a new Lennox furnace system 4/15/15. Both technicians were professional and kind throughout the installation phase and answered questions as I asked them. They put tarps down, respected the area they worked in and did a truly wonderful job throughout the day. Once the system was installed and running both Paul and Travis explained the new equipment to me and then Joey the plumber for MM showed up on time as well later in the day to install the new hot water heater. He as well was completely professional and did a very good job. He explained everything to me that would be important to remember at the completion of his installation. This was a very good experience and I appreciated all three representatives of Modern Mechanical and will recommend the company, staff and product to friends and neighbors.

We were first directed to Modern Mechanical through our home warranty and decided to continued with them after our warranty expired after calling other companies. We needed to replace our central air conditioning system and Chris worked with us over a few days to talk about our needs (and wants.) After coming to a great agreement, Gary and Abel were able to come and install the system just days later. They arrived on time and always had an awareness of keeping our home clean. I was kept appraised of their progress and was given complete, but easy to understand, answers to all of my questions. I was thrilled with the install and look forward to having them fine tune the system when the weather warms up.

Marlon Tinta was our tech and he did a great job taking care of the short punch list we had after the installation of our new HVAC (two zones) system. He was very courteous and professional and went through our list of items thoroughly with us before he went to work. After completing each item, he explained what he had done and made sure that we were pleased with the outcome. He was also a great help in getting us accustomed to using the the "Nest" thermostat....(which by the way is a great tool to have, especially when you are traveling). A great Customer Service Experience during a potential home heating/AC crisis. Our Builder installed 2003 Home Comfort System had called it quits. After three years of nursing the heat pump and air handler along - it was time for a new system. After receiveing four proposals - we awarded Modern Mechanical the contract. Strong recommendation for Modern Mechanical based upon our experience with the purchase/installation of a humidifier. The technician, Abel, was on time. He and his colleague, Gary, performed a clean installation. They explained the operation and maintenance of the humidifier. They were pleasant and responsive. This alone would have warranted a positive review. But Abel and Gary went further, patiently and carefully responding to other HVAC questions we asked about our new place. The technician today (Joey U.) was no different. I told him that I was extremely happy with my system. It has cut my heating and cooling bills by more the 50%! In January 2016, Charlie did a very complete inspection of the furnace in my home and explained the reasons for why it was failing. He was very professional and worked on the problem as long as was required. He provided a lot of detail in his explanation of how the furnace was operating. Excellent service. Excellent service from Joey U. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to explain the items he was installing. Also, he arrived within the promised time window and called 15 minutes before arrival. I will definitely call Modern Mechanical in the future.

Will and Joey were my service techs. I needed to have my hot water heater replaced. They were both very professional and very friendly. I had to have them return for another water leak issue. They took the time to check all possibilities. When they could not specifically identify the water source, they went door-to-door to ask my neighbors if they are also having water leakage issues. My neighborhood is having new drainage pipes installed which may be part of the problem. They gave me tips for what to watch for, and to call Modern Mechanical if I needed them to return again.

My furnace died on the renters of my house, while I was overseas and my Realtor recommended that I use Modern Mechanical to replace the furnace. Being as it was the holiday season, and it is VERY cold in Virginia this time of year, I was very stressed out concerning this purchase, as I imagine the renters were stressed to not have heat. After speaking to Shawn (the president of the company), I was able to work out a great deal on a new furnace, as well as a payment plan to have everything installed. I highly recommend them and will use them again if I have any HVAC problems!

The technician came to our home (1104 Kings Way Ct. SW Vienna) to perform an HVAC annual inspection, as requested by the current owners. He was very professional in all respects, introducing himself at the door by giving me his business card. Being new to the house, he showed me both AC units, filters, etc. He wore shoe covers to keep my carpets clean. He also showed me how the thermostat worked. Bill arrived at my house about 3 hours after my initial call on a Sunday afternoon. He was professional and very helpful in making decisions about my heat pump. There was no hard sell tactic for service contracts, in fact he directed me to the website to buy one but covered details with me. He gave me great advice about filters and I was only charged the service fee, even though he could easily have convinced me that I needed more difficult repairs. Honest, helpful, fast, and professional.

I have an older York brand unit. They attempted to charge $171.00 for "internal" and "$171.00" external capacitor all together over approx $350.00 + $69.00 svc/tune up charge. I have politely declined it. The true cost of the capacitors is only about $30.00 dollars and installation is less than a 15 minute job. Because they made trip to my house, and they did spent time, I decided to pay $69.00 for their time and 1 pound of freon($240.00) However, I will not come back to this company.

He passed on a few good tips on what we could do to help make our equipment last longer. George was very courteous and extremely professional. I would strongly recommend Modern Mechanical and specifically, Charlie Barnhouse. He arrived exactly when the dispatcher said he would, and diagnosed the problem quickly and efficiently. He then fixed it without any problems, and then waited until the system was operational before he left. All throughout, he was courteous and professional despite the hot weather. He and Modern Mechanical provide the rush service you would hope for in an emergency.

The service tech arrived on-time and was professional and neat. I went with Modern Mechanical/One Hour services plan you pay for it monthly and it provided benefits not founds in other plans. Plus they are easy to do business with.
