The Sprinkles LPS

The worst insurance ever! I have to call them weekly, and actually fight to get them to pay the claims they are supposed to. Most agents have no idea how to deal with dual insurance, so I end up having to talk with resolution specialists, who are a hit and miss. The only consistency with this company, is that you are almost guaranteed to speak with an agent, who has no idea how to help you. Every. Single. Time. If you can choose any other insurance, do.

In the past year we have had a baby who was in the NICU for a week, I needed home hospice for the pregnancy for five months (needing IVs and nurses checking in on me on a daily basis), and my husband had open heart surgery requiring extensive testing and extended hospital stay. Altius was very generous in what they covered, very easy to work with to approve care and have always been respectful on the telephone.

I was told a procedure would be in network by a Altius customer service representative and I had the procedure done. A few months later I received a bill for 1500. After months of fighting with employees and writing an appeal, they finally paid 400 dollars and stuck me with a large bill. Very unsatisfied. Avoid Altius at all cost.

They have paid for everything they were supposed to, and did it quickly. Worth noting is that as opposed to previous reviews, my experience with them came after the Affordable Healthcare Act. Regulation is working. Painless experience.
