Make most of their money from overdraft fees, even after you put a stop payment on the check. This used to be my primary bank. I have been with them since 1998. Everything was awesome when Texas City was the main branch. They had a great Lobby and great people that worked in the TC branch, they would go out of their way to help you out. The TC branch has horrible hours in the lobby so I have used the Dickinson branch and a few others. To say the least, customer service has plummeted with this bank since more branches have started opening. Now you get the call center when you call the TC branch number. The young girls at the call center (mainly Webster/Dickinson branch) are extremely rude and their responses to questions are robotic in nature. The TC branch is still full of great people. I go to the TC branch and easily get a loan, I go to the Dickinson branch and they are rude about loans. Seems like two completely different banks. Now I only use them to pay a few bills from, I do not keep money there. I have switched primarily to JSCFCU. I had a double payment go through AFCU with no money in that bank account. I was charged $30 for each OD fee. I accepted that because I had not moved money over, it was my fault. BUT I called and explained that I want to cancel the checks because the company automatically runs checks twice. I filled out all the paperwork to do a stop pay on both checks, and was re-assured that this will stop the check. I look back at the account a week later and another $60 in OD fees, $120 in total now. They did not stop payment. They came up with excuses, saying I was told about a $30 fee to complete the stop pay, etc. I told them that this was never mentioned and that I would have had no problem paying the fee if they had told me. Why would I go through the trouble of filling out the PW without paying the $30 fee (even though I was already charged $60 in OD fees, which I accepted to be my fault)? So I said, if I was told this, then I want to hear the recorded conversation. We argued for literally three hours, and they were very robotic and rude. Finally they called and said that they found the phone conversations but for SOME reason could not find the conversation where the teller told me about the $30 fee. So they refunded the second set of overdraft fees. It was ridiculous. Since I have been a member I have 4-5 car loans paid off in time, several other smaller loans paid off in time. These were recent and back in the day when TC was the main branch. Treatment like this should NEVER happen to long term customers. I still use AFCU and plan on it in the future, but they REALLY NEED TO WORK ON CUSTOMER SERVICE! ESPECIALLY THE CALL CENTERS AND THE DICKINSON BRANCH OFF OF I-45!!!

Ive been with AMOCO for 5years now. I can honestly say I have nothing but greatness coming from this bank. I travel from state to state and I never have any problems getting what I need.

I hated giving this place even 1 star. This has been the worst banking experience I have ever had. I will be withdrawing all of my money, and closing my account as soon as I can.
