I have been an Austin Telco customer for more than 13 years. I recently applied for a mortgage through a Company that Austin Telco referred me to and was denied. That is not what I am upset about though, I am upset with the fact that I was denied for not being able to verify my income or employment. I have been at the same job for 9 years and have been depositing these payroll checks in my Austin Telco account twice a month for the past 9 years so for Austin telco to not be able to verify my income is absurd! I will be taking my business to Wells Fargo. Super friendly staff over there and tons of options and guess what, they WILL give me a mortgage loan. Thanks for nothing for all my years of dedication to Austin Telco!!!

Very bad customer service and knowledge of the products they offer. My husband called them about a loan for a new boat purchase from another state. They informed us it would not be an issue that we were purchasing it in another state and that they allowed 0% down if you qualified. Once they ran our credit and started the application we were then told we qualified for the best interest rate but they do not allow 0% down on any boat loan. On top of that they informed me they would only finance the purchase if "the dealer played by their rules". Really wish they would have given us the correct information up front...

I have been a member of Austin Telco FCU for almost 30 years. It is the best credit union in Austin, Texas and possibly the entire State. I joined right before our current President, James Poplin, was hired. Poplin and his staff have taken Austin Telco from a small credit union for primarily telecommunications workers to the largest and most fiscally sound credit union in the City of Austin and surrounding areas. As a retired City of Austin employee and former AT&T employee I recommend Telco as we call it to anyone that values the safety of their money and excellent customer service.

I have been using Austin Telco for the past 6 years and love this local bank. While not being a fan of the big American conglomerate banks, this provides a great way to keep your money local and have it held with a trusted federal credit union. The employees are always super friendly also and get you through the drive thru quick.

Opened an account within days was faced with difficulty in accomplishing basic banking tasks. After numerous phone calls to various individuals within ATFCU, their customer service and accounting departments, I was continually confronted with poor customer service and an attitude of not caring. Avoid at all costs.

Love the new apps and the great rate I received for my car loan! If you already have an account, you can apply and sign paperwork online without ever coming to a branch. Very convenient!
