Update: I originally gave a one star rating due to what happened below. However I can for my rescheduled appointment and the guy that I talked to today was super nice and explained they were about 30 min behind. I let him know what happened last week and he decided to give my oil change to me for free due to the incredible inconvenience. I wasn’t necessarily looking for that. I just wanted someone to sincerely apologize and try to make up for the inconvenience and this guy did that without knowing about my rating so I thought the right thing to do would be change the rating. I am giving one star. I made an appointment for 2pm and thought I would be finished by 315 so I could pick up my kids. I was only getting an oil change and tire rotation. The guy told me that they were just a little bit behind which I felt maybe 10-15 tops. However, at 245 my car still had not been taken back. I told the guy I needed to pick up my kids from school and he proceeds to tell me that it was gonna be another 30 minutes before my car was going to be taken into the garage. I let him know that I was very disappointed. This was my only day off of work to do this and now I had wasted an hour of my day and still was unable to accomplish the oil change. He made no effort to make it right with me except to reschedule. I rescheduled because I pay to be able to use this benefit but I am VERY disappointed.

This past Saturday our minivan lost all power and we were stranded along a major interstate road on a very rainy, overcast day. AAA sent our a very polite and helpful tow truck driver who then took our vehicle to the AAA car care center in Asheville, NC. We arrived at 2:57pm (remember on a Saturday) knowing that closing time was 4pm. This initial thought that the problem was the alternator, but after further investigation a metal bracket was broken. This required a special part from the local Honda dealer. The service staff at the AAA car care center really went the extra mile! Not only did they work past closing time, but they rushed over to the Honda dealer to get the part before this place closed and then had everything put back in working order on my minivan by 4:30pm. Truly stellar work! The other staff at the AAA car care center were very professional, keeping me informed of the status of my vehicle, providing me a comfortable, clean place to wait. Everyone was very friendly, kind and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. I highly recommend this AAA car care center to anyone local in the Asheville, NC area OR to anyone traveling through like my family and I were doing. We are so thankful for your excellent service and getting us back on the road so quickly!

They failed my inspection and proceeded to try and sell me new rear tires so I could pass my inspection. I declined, went down the street to another place who passed my inspection. I went back to speak to the manager (Randy) about why they failed my inspection. He told me it was up to the inspector and that NC inspection standards were inconsistent. He was completely lying to me because there is an exact measurement for tire tread to pass inspection. But they work on commission so it behooves them to try and scam their clientele. I have been an AAA member for well over a decade and have never had any problem with roadside assistance. This is a company I trusted to take care of my vehicle needs. I was expecting that same level of service from their Car Care Center, but instead it was the old cliché of going in to the garage for an oil change and getting quoted hundreds of dollars for other repairs instead.

My wife went there for an oil change and they convinced her that she needed new break pads and rotors (car only has 75k miles so that is fairly early for new rotors in the first place as they usually last for at least 100k). They messed up on installing both the pads and the rotors so the car was making loud noises during breaking. She took it back and they told her that there was nothing wrong! Are you kidding me?!?! I personally took her car back there and they had to keep it overnight to resurface the rotors and change pads. They said that the "pads may have been bad." Ya think? Could you not have figured that out when she brought it to you yesterday? Car feels fine now, but I will not take any of my cars back to that incompetent place. We also canceled our AAA membership after several years of consistent membership. TLDR: they up sell unsuspecting people and then do not do a good job!

My battery light came on in my ca and since I got my battery from AAA roadside service I pulled into the car care center. They checked it out and told me I had a bad alternator (which was true) and they told me the repair would cost $500!!! They told me that I probably would not make it home and that I could get uber home and leave the car with them overnight. I took my car to my mechanic and made it home and to my mechanic the next day who replaced my alternator for $200. Whilst I subscribe to the annual roadside emergency service I would not take my car there again for any repairs. I have had oil change in the past and even then there was more recommendations for other repairs. Money grabbers and a rip off.

I hate to leave negative but I feel I must report this. My battery light came on and I went by to see if they could just test my battery since I was on my way home about 1 hour away. They spent about 5 minutes and told me it was my alternator and they would call to see if they could get one. I ask are you sure it is not my battery. Oh no. I said I would wait till I got home and have it done there. 2 macanics in Hendersonville both told me it was a terminal and battery and alternator were fine. Wow I was disappointed with AAA just trying to make money. Thought it was a name you can trust. Makes me question my membership too.

I had clutch problems, called AAA. Tow truck owner was very nice, had to work and try several times to get into a very narrow driveway with multiple cars on the street. John at AAA explained what the possibilities were and was very helpful, called me shortly to discuss the problem. Clutch was ok. Flushed and bled the system, removed and replaced the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, replaced the fluid, did an oil change and a state inspection. Got my car back within less than a day. Total charge was 539.80. I felt this was a good price and excellent service. Will be renewing my contract with AAA!

A red-check-engine light is a single ladies worst fear!! This being my first time to AAA Car Care and as a new member, Randy was excellent in helping calm my panic-by having me come in, do a free quick code scan first-to see if it easily comes up. And it did! He then gave me advice of where to go if the light comes back on again. I live far on the other side of town-but I am going back to get my oil changed soon, and whatever else they can do there for me. Actually, the whole center looks incredible and very clean! I am sure surprised by any reviews that are negative..Amy R, seriously, nothing but the best service department in Asheville. If you want cheap service and bad repairs go somewhere else. Remember you get what you pay for.. I will be a loyal customer always.. Thanks to the professional service from the Manager at the store, Randy, I will be recommending others to go there. It is very hard to find a reliable trustworthy service station. Please note that this station has not been there a year like some reviews state.. So, how reliable are they as a review!!!

They are horrible. First they called the wrong number to tell me my truck had been looked at. I finally stopped by after two days see what was taking them so long in getting back to me and they tried to charge me a storage fee for leaving it there over 48 hours! Then they told me it would cost at least $500 to diagnose what was wrong with my trucks electrical system and would probably end up costing thousands of dollars- basically more than the truck was worth. Thankfully I took it somewhere else who had it up and running the next day at the cost of $180!

Highly professional, while also considerate and friendly. Work was done in a timely way, and there was no pressure for lots of "extras" when doing oil change--sometimes a battle! But not here. They showed me the extreme wear on the brake pads and gave me a correct estimate to repair brakes, without pressure to do it at AAA. Everyone was open, made a point of explaining and showing what they were talking about. Good warranty. Always tough to find you need a big job, but they handled it extremely well, without pressure, just information.

I had a great experience with the service center on Merrimon ave. I got my car towed by AAA there and dropped off after hours. It got looked at the very next day and fixed. Also, I was told that I probably had a alternator and or starter that needed to be replaced. However, the honest technicians discovered it was only a bad terminal for my battery. They replaced that and it saved me tons of money. All this happened while I was out of town, and i was able to return home to a vehicle ready to go. Bravo

This review is based on their Car Care Center. I had my brake pads and rotors replaced based on their advice, and afterwords my brakes were very noisy and in much worse condition than before. I had to go back to them twice to finally get them to fix the issue and replace the brake pads again. I expected to get good service from AAA, but was very disappointed.

This place is overpriced and the most expensive place locally to take your vehicles. Also, they try to sell you over inflated prices on maintenance services. At least 3 times they will make you state you decline whatever the items in their sales pitch is being proposed. STAY AWAY unless you just want to waste money.
