I am a Canadian who does a lot of cross-border shopping. I used to use the UPS store for my pick-ups, but no longer. I have had too many problems with them. I use a competitive service that is much better organized. PRO: The one good thing UPS has (why I give them two stars instead of 1) is you can ship returns from there, which is convenient. That is the only good thing I can say about this store. CONs: 1. The line-ups are long, sometimes insane around Christmas time. This is in part because of the next item. 2. They keep all their packages in the back, which is fine, but they have a poor indexing system (if at all), because it takes anywhere from 3-20 minutes to locate your parcels. That means more time per person, which makes the line-ups longer and slower. 3. Twice they have completely LOST my packages. There was no dispute - they acknowledged they received the package, but they could not find it, perhaps because of Item 2, above. One time was a $300 camera, the other was $20 memory card. In both cases, I reported the shipment lost or stolen to Amazon, who refunded my purchase price. It worries me that parcels just "go missing" at UPS, especially high value items. 4. They do not notify you by email every time a parcel arrives, like other services do. 5. They do not give out free bridge toll passes, the way other services do. 6. Their prices are effectively higher. They charge $5 per package per week held by them. Other services charge $5 per package per year. 7. They charge for the use of their computer and printer, whereas competitors provide free access to the computer and printer.

The UPS Store in Ogdensburg helps thousands of Canadians save money on shipping every year. It provides Canadian customers with a way to receive packages in the US when they would otherwise not be able to. Many US companies do not ship to Canada and for a low handling fee, they let you store your merchandise in their store. To receive packages there you need: YOUR NAME 2981 Ford Street Ext. Ogdensburg, NY 13669 Always, always, always make sure you have a tracking number and your name is on the label. The only way that The UPS Store in Ogdensburg can find your package once it arrives in the store is by tracking number or your name. They ask specifically that you ensure your name is on the package ... yet many shippers never place the name on the box. How do you expect them to find your package if the boxes arrive without your name on them? I know from experience that if you have your tracking number, the name of the person who sent the package and a little bit of patience (this little store receives thousands of parcels every month for customers) they will be able to help you.

The line up is always crazy long and they have now lost two of my packages. One was signed for by their worker, but never appeared on their online tracker. When it was finally found 4 weeks later, they made me pay for the entire 4 weeks of storage although I had tried to pick it up the week it arrived and I was sent away! It is too aggravating to deal with them, I will definitely be trying out the other place nearby that charges $5.00 no matter how long it takes to pick up. I love the idea, but they are too busy to keep up with demand so things go missing. It is no wonder, packages are stacked everywhere and accessible to everyone.

Be carefull !!!! That ups store is not a safe place to get your stuff shipped too. There online advertising makes your packages vulnorable, Because anybody can go to the store and say your name and pick them up. they dont check id . At least thats from my experience from the multiple times i went there and was honest and picked up only my own packages. I was a victim of this. got multiple packages stollen and the ups store says theres nothing they can do for me. whoever picked up 4350$ worth of my stuff never got asked id and got away will all my stuff. Dont get your stuff shipped there if you dont this to happen to you. thanks

My family and I use this location exclusively for receiving all our US online purchases. The staff are always very polite, courteous and willing to help. They allow free use of their package carts for hauling the large items back to our car. The location is clean and there is always someone at the front counter to greet us. Driving down from Canada we always make it a fun trip by stopping for authentic NY pizza or tasty Chinese buffet in Ogdensburg.

Ordered a TV off amazon and had it delivered here. It was very seamless, I showed up gave my name and tracking number and they brought my package out. People go here at the busiest time of year and busiest time of day and then complain that they had to wait. I went in May and in the morning and had no issues whatsoever. I will definitely use again.

DANGEROUS!!! My experience over the years has been excellent. However, It is true that the security is non-existent because ID of the pickup person is not checked. Anyone can find a name on the UPS website and steal the package/envelope. UPS - PLEASE check ID..

wow just called the place to check for my package and the lady picked up and just said "Hi" and then she went quiet. What ever happened to hi ups how may i help you? its not the first time, these people there dont know how to smile and be polite.

I have had packages shipped there for years. It is a pretty good service. My only suggestion is that they should get a # system when you arrive to pick up something as it can get hectic and easy to lose track of who was waiting first.

I have been ordering and getting shipped to here for a few years now and have always had good service. It would be nice if they called you when your package arrives but I know that would take a lot of work but all in all great place.

They absolutely do have an unsafe way to manage there shipment. They do not request ID, and anyone can pickup your stuff. They are responsible for your stuff and if your stuff get stolen then a police report should be filed.

The New UPS Store in Ogdensburg is excellent. If you follow their directions about packages they can easily find your parcels. I save hundreds of dollars a year shipping my items to their store.

Hit and miss here. Sometimes there nice, polite , and organized. Other times they have been short with me, and seemed pretty over whelmed. I have always received my package no problem though.
