IF YOU PLAN ON TAKING A YOUNG CHILD TO THE LIGHT HOUSE PLEASE READ THIS. Very nice lighthouse with friendly volunteers. However one issue to bring to light. My son who has a fascination with lighthouses, was not allowed to climb up. The reason being he is not taller than 40 inches. Understandably the organization running the house feels in order to safely climb the light you must be that tall. If we had known this or seen it posted on the website, we may have made other plans. Instead we drove two and half hours and had a really disappointed little boy.

The Lighthouse pulses a dim, yet far reaching light at night. (very useful for sneaking onto the beach at night) The Guides who run the lighthouse are nice and give lots of history, I had the chance to see service men rapple the side of the lighthouse to check its integrity, pretty cool. The top is higher than you would expect, and the best time to perch yourself up there is during the sunset.

Out of all the 22 Lighthouses we visited this trip this is my favorite, not because of its History, but its ornate construction giving it a fairy tale appearance, one could spend hours photographing this lighthouse

The view from the top is incredible.!The tickets were about $5/person and were definitely worth it. Kids get coloring books and adults get pamphlets with amazing pictures in them.

Lighthouse is great. Staff is friendly and helpful. The parking lot is small as is the beach area itself, but otherwise a great place to visit.
