30 JUNE 2014 Dear, HARRIS FEDERAL LAW FIRM, Mr. Richard S. is a former Transportation Security Officer who lives in Staten Island, NY. Due to his degenerative disc disease and plantar fasciitis, lifting baggage and being on his feet all day was impossible. To make matters worse, he spent a great deal of time inhaling jet fumes that aggravated his COPD. After 11 years of service, his job duties became too much to handle. Mr. S contacted us in July of 2013. We immediately began working with his medical providers and employer to collect and assemble documentation proving he was no longer capable of performing the duties of his position. His application for Federal Disability Retirement was submitted to the OPM in September of 2013. We are happy to announce that just 3 months later, in December of 2013, Mr. S’s application for disability retirement has been approved! Anyone who is considering applying for a Federal Disability Retirement needs to contact Harris Federal Law Firm. For my family and me, my illness and subsequent inability to continue working were hugely traumatic events. We didn’t know where to turn or how to handle the situation, so we ultimately decided we needed legal help. We located some highly-rated legal firms and talked to their representatives, but once we spoke to the Harris intake representative, the correct choice was obvious. Since that initial conversation we have experienced caring, intelligent, and timely action at every step of the disability process. Harris representatives walked us through gathering medical information and completing the disability application. They maintained liaison with OPM as my case made its way through the administrative process. They sent flowers when I had surgery, always promptly answered my emails and phone calls, and even took the time to just talk to me when I needed reassurance. When they were notified of my approval (they received notification before I did) they immediately called to congratulate me.
