On the 29th of March 2017, I was to receive my second (spring tuneup) for my new Lennox Heat Pump/Air Handler/ Heating Package ($6500.00). Mathew Barnes who has done both services arrived around 9:30am as scheduled. Their was also a pre schedule call that am, that some one was on the way to my residence. Matt on the first scheduled tuneup removed all covers checked electric/ mechanical systems in great detail as well as the heat pump outside. Being the first of two tuneups, as he stated it was important to make sure everything was working properly. I had acquired a full yearly service agreement, and will continued to do so for many years into the future. It was unfortunate that during the time of that year, changes to third party service contracts, may have caused clients to be uncomfortable with the continuance of services of Chief Bauer. Matt had suggested since I had extended warranties with Lennox not common in the industry, I should call Steve at Chief Bauer, and I did so. Steve understood the issues and was concerned as I, that the full service agreement included parts and services, but my extended warranty valid till 03/23/2026 left me with no valid service contract options. This would have caused me to leave Chief Bauer and contact Lennox and move to another service provider who could provide a service agreement. Steve made a quick decision to continue my agreement at the original stated price with the new purchase. The difference was considerable cost and was frankly not needed to pay, for double warranty on parts. I also understand when a unit is out of warranty this service program would provide great security and peace of mind to many on a 24 hour service and parts agreement. As I retired a Multi National Purchasing manager of 35 years with purchasing maintenance contract for HVAC in the millions of dollars, Steve made the right decision. It is easy to understand why Chief/Bauer has been in business for 60+ years serving the Champaign-Urbana community. Our recent (and first) experience in dealing with this company was 100%+ positive. After obtaining local bids for installation of a new Carrier furnace and a/c system in our home, we selected Chief/Bauer to do the job; our decision proved to be the best choice. The basis for our five-star rating is threefold: (1) we were happy with the turnaround time (following our initial meeting with Jeremy to assess our needs/review options, the job was completed one week later); (2) we found the total cost to be fair and reasonable in comparison with other bids obtained; and (3) the entire team (Jeremy, Jacob, Doug) that made all of this happen in such a short period of time was professional, knowledgeable/informative about the furnace and a/c industry in guiding our decision to select a unit that met our needs, and helpful in addressing our concerns/questions during the installation process. Further, when the job was complete, our home was notably left tidy, clean, and in order when the technicians departed, including picking up all debris related to packaging/parts, etc. Good grief ~ they were even kind to our dog! In short, we will unhesitatingly recommend Chief/Bauer whenever the occasion presents itself by others seeking heating and a/c specialists. We had Chief out for routine maintenance and they discovered a very serious issue in our furnace, after discussing our options we then decided to have a new furnace installed. The Salesman came out the same day, gave us a price (not an estimate) and scheduled our install. Our HVAC techs came out the next day and after 12+ hours of hard work we had a new and most important a safe furnace system. These guys are great, I researched the price they charged me for the new furnace and install, it was average to low compared to other places. But they also installed a whole home humidifier, a new very nice thermostat, and they reworked some old ducting to maximize airflow, not to mention hauling the old furnace away. All of that for the price of the furnace and install, no charge for the extras! The men who did the work did a great job, cleaned up after themselves, were very polite and a pleasure to have in our home. I recommend them very highly. After this experience they have earned a customer for life...

This was a complete remove/replace of my old htg and a/c system. The tech people were very friendly and helpful during this time. They helped us select the right size and type of unit for the house and worked with us on price. The installation people had to drag all of the old equipment out and then put all of the new in place. It was a very dirty and difficult process but they kept things neat, orderly and clean. My clean up was nothing more than some light vacuuming. They worked quickly and had the whole project done on time. During this process they found that my hot water heater was not vented properly and corrected this issue at the same time. They also accommodated the fact that I had to be at work and also had a pet in the house. My mother represented me during this process at the house and she felt that they were always polite and considerate towards her and that they treated us fairly during the whole process. I would highly recommend them to others.

My husband Kevin and I are really pleased with the service that we got from Chief Bauer, from the first meeting with Bob on April 4th to the installation with Mike and Chris on April 10th(we even moved the installation up a week with no problems) and the follow up with Bob today April 30th. Everything was explained so we understood what we were getting and how it was installed. Mike and Chris did a fantastic job informing Kevin on everything they were doing and why. They made sure that everything was hooked up and running properly to making sure all the vents had air flow and cleaned up everything. And explained how the new thermostat worked so when I got home he could show me. If you want a new system call Chief Bauer they are really great to work with. We now have a home with balanced heat and air! Thanks again Chief Bauer we LOVE or new system!

I have been with Chief/Bauer for the last decade. They have kept my 15-year-old hvac system running like a charm. They have great service reps who always show up on time, are very courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable. For the last several years I have had a service rep named Jeremy. He has come twice a year, once for the a/c and once for the furnace. He provides me with a list of what he has done, gives me helpful advice on the use of my system, and exhibits outstanding work ethics. I am confident that, in the event of a problem, I will receive prompt and efficient attention from Chief/Bauer. They have never disappointed me.

I would highly recommend Chief/Bauer Service Experts. We just had a high end Lennox furnace and Air conditioner, Thermostat installed by them, and we love it. The sales representative and installers were all professional, personable and top notch. They answered all our questions; their price was very reasonable and fair. Sale representative made a follow-up visit with a detailed check list. He even brought us a thank you gift from Columbia Roastery. They will let you know about all available rebates. Just wanted to say thank you for the exceptional service. It all began with Bob who came out to the house and spent a good hour going over the different options. Then the team of Jon, Corey and Mike was amazing. They were very professional and stayed long into the night to complete the job. Due to unforeseeable circumstances, Jon had to come back the next day to finish up and he did an excellent job. My house feels very comfortable. We were very pleased with the service we received from Jeremy and Jacob of Chief / Bauer. After our furnace began making a loud noise, Jeremy decided the motor needed to be replaced but only after trying a less expensive solution first. He returned with Jacob to install a new motor and we are now back to normal with a minimum of fuss. Both Jeremy and Jacob were very professional, informed and cordial. I learned quite a bit about heating and cooling concerns and various options without feeling pressured. We are glad to have experienced the fast and efficient service of Chief /Bauer.

Our air conditioner broke yesterday (20 years old), and Chief/Bauer came out right away and did a temporary fix, until they could install the new one today. Doug and Jon were the technicians; they had to change out a coil and copper wiring in the basement, and it was quite involved. Anyway, we have a brand new air conditioner, everything looking clean and perfect. I highly recommend Chief/Bauer. And Jon and Doug were just great -- very professional, and very easy to have around. They explained everything to me as well.Thank you!

Jeff Petty was very helpful and professional. He explained all possibilities and helped us choose the best plan for our house and budget. The technicians that came and did the install of our A/C were very friendly and professional and worked very hard. We had a furnace installed several years earlier and they also revamped it to work more efficiently. When ever we call Chief Bauer the response time is always very quick. I do recommend this company without hesitation.

JC came out and serviced our furnace and air conditioning unit. We have a bit of an older model so it took a little more work than usual. He explained to us the positive and negative sides of having such an older unit and whether or not we should upgrade. He was upfront and honest about everything, which my wife and I enjoyed. If i were to use Chief/Bauer for services again, I would recommend JC to anyone looking for good, friendly, and honest customer service.

Bought the Plus agreement at the end of summer. They contacted me about scheduling my free maintenance check. Glad they did, because I never would have remembered! JC came out to the house, checked the furnace, lit a pilot light while he was here, and there was no charge. He was happy to answer questions and was very personable. My AC unit had completely gone dead, I have a 2yr old and a pregnant wife; sympathetic to my situation, they quickly got me an installation time for a new unit. The techs came and installed it quickly, correctly, even noted some discrepancies with the previous installation and properly installed some new items that they might not have had to. The techs were personable and professional. I would absolutely use their services again.

This is the first time I called for a service after I bought my house. The technician Jeremy was nice, I appreciate the fact that he covered his shoes and kept my carpet clean. He explained to me what was the issue with my AC, he was able fix it instantly. I was glad that he had the defective part with him.
