With the exception of a very unresponsive Settlement Coordinator, I am quite satisfied with the service provided by Federal Title and Escrow. The attorney who conducted the actual settlement, Jackie Kurz, was a dream. Extremely efficient and responsive to our requests. Another attorney I spoke to prior to settlement was also very responsive and helpful. However the Settlement Coordinator, Rikki Woodall, who was designated as our contact up untill settlement date, was extremely unresponsive. She failed to respond to all attempts to contact her during the pendency of our settlement. This consisted of 3 voice mail messages and one email, all sent on different dates. The day before settlement, she finally responded to a request that she call me. Then she failed to include on the HUD1 sheet a POC item for which I faxed her a receipt, and also failed to respond to my explanation as to why a FT&E charge on the HUD1 was erroneous. So .... go with FT&E, but if Rikki Woodall is assigned to your transaction, I suggest you immediately ask FT &E to assign someone else.

First time homebuyer here as well. Todd & Federal Title did a great job for us. As stated in other reviews, the closing agent was knowledgeable and patient, answering all our questions. We were provided as stated in other reviews with both paper and electronic copies of all documents, and given as much time as we needed to feel comfortable reading as many or as few of the documents as we wished. Accessibility was easy for us as we were from the district to start with and the office is very close to the Friendship Heights metro stop. Finding the office itself can be a little bit tricky though, as you have to find just the right elevator to take you up above the shopping mall proper. Our agent has used this company many times for closings, and after experiencing it myself would be happy to use again as well.

The office manager was unprofessional in her electronic communication and over the telephone throughout the transaction. She inappropriately contacted a client directly to reschedule a closing without informing or checking with the listing agent and only informed the listing agent after the fact. The processor however was lovely to work with. Follow-up - Thank you for reaching out to me to address this situation. The rest of the transaction was very smooth and our client signed this morning.

I felt like I knew what was going on going into the close and they helped kept the stress level down. The close itself was super organized and fast.
