If you receive a phone call or e-mail inviting you to an American Income Life Insurance job interview, this is what you should know first. When I was contacted I was told that my application was reviewed, and that they would like to interview me for a management position. I gladly set up a time, and then asked if there was anything else I should know. I was told to dress professionally, and then given their address. I did a little research and found that many people had an ill opinion of the company, some stating that they will ask you for money. I called the company directly for clarification as was told that in the state of California, in order to do this job on a Management or rep level you must have a license. In order to get this license, you must take 3 weeks of evening classes and pay all the dues and fees which total…are you ready? $700.00 …That’s right.. SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS! That the company DOES NOT help you out with. I was also told that the “Management” position I’d be interviewing for, was more like a team lead position where I’d have my own team of sales people, and that I too would be doing sales. I didn’t get into salary, but I would imagine that it’s mostly commission based. The good news? After 6 months the $700.00 can be refunded, not “will” be refunded but “can” be refunded. I was not given ANY of this information by the person on the phone, and yes, IT IS information I should have known. I called and canceled my interview, who are they to waste my time and gas money? DISSAPPOINTED... I just got the same call from Astrid, honestly I have had a very bad luck trying to get a job online, so when I got this call I got a little excited, FINALLY! a job interview, the weird thing here was that, they had already set up the appointment like assuming I was going to bite. So, I was almost there but finally asked what should I bring to the appointment, she said just to bring a copy of my resume and some references, I said that I am applying to get my first job in US and my references here are only personal, she said OK!!!?? (weird, since everybody asks for professional ref! ) so I asked the lady if the position was for "graphic designer" which I am, and I have applied for so many opportunities that maybe it was time to see results, but no, she said the position was related to administrative or something like that, so I got totally bummed and told her that there was no way I could fit their profile, I am not interested in anything related to Insurances or sales...what a waste of time and what about my feelings!!!???

I got the same phone call yesterday and I dont have much work experience on my resume....I am a housewife/legal student with a new associates degree in paralegal studies...no experience....and this lady calls me and gives me all the details everyone else has explained, pretty much the exact same phone call..and I was caught up in the excitement that i really did not ask any questions. I got off the phone and let it settle and decided today before my interview to search for this company to make sure it was real?...and I run into this stuff. And I am glad I did....I knew something was up cause i have NO experience in business/insurance all i have is basic skills in customer service/food service. So thank everyone who has posted on here, if it was not for you all this would have been a huge let down, not to mention a waste of money!!

I guess Allegra is the new girl there and she spouted the same lame crap that everyone else is saying on this review chain. Very vague about the role and a major waste of time and your money. If they call you, just say you are not interested. I loved how they called the company "Furer" instead of the real name. Still found your crappy company and crappy offer for work. Please have more respect for people and their time Allegra. Screw you and your disrespect for others who are seriously trying to find employment. Best of luck to everyone out there. Why would anyone want to work for this falsely advertising company?

Well I got a call from Linda today left me a message I thought it was a little strange she didnt say in the message who she worked for just that she got my resume off career builder. Set up an interview for this coming Monday thought Id do a little research SOOO glad I did! Looks like I will be calling to cancel my interview tomorrow after seeing all these reviews about a scam I was worried about that! Where would we do today without the internet!

I JUST GOT THE SAME BULLSHIT CALL FROM LINDA AND GOT THE SAME PITCH ..SHE AVOIDS ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE TYPE OF JOB OFFERED OR ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE COMPANY...I AM RUNNING INTO THIS TYPE OF SCAM FREQUENTLY WHEN USING ONLINE SITES, ITS REALLY A SHAME THAT THIS DECEPTIVE TYPE OF SCAM IS USED ON THE UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE THAT ARE REALLY OUT THERE TRYING TO FIND A JOB IN TODAYS ECONOMY..

I recently posted my resume on Monster and just received a phone call today but had horrible reception. I eventually dropped the call, but called back thinking it may have been a job I recently applied for. The automated response actually has an extension for "HR or to hear about your career opportunity". Hahaha yeah, I googled the number, and here I am. What a waste of time.

I was puzzled because she said the interview was for a management position, and I kept thinking: why management? Now I will know not to waste my time.

Dont listen to anything "Carolyn" says to you. I recieved a similar call and thank God i read your reviews. She stated that it would be a 2 hour interview to meet "management" and to dress professional. She also said "they" recieved my resume from a Texas company. Complete false!

I got a call from AIL requesting an interview for a management position with no further details. I have an accounting/finance background so I was very confused. Reading Google and Yelp reviews about this company saved me completely wasting my time with a scam job.

I posted a resume on monster and got a call from this company. They told me to come in for an interview (did not ask), they did not specify the position i was going to be interviewed for and had a very negative attitude. I do not recommend them at all.
