I went in to get a perm and was given a person who had never given a perm before. I understand this is a school for new cosmetologist so I new I was taking a risk. However, I expected more than I received. The girl did not know what she was doing and did not have an Instructor their to assist her. She asked a few of the other students to assist her but they declined. When she needed to ask any questions she would have to go find an instructor. Once she got the rods in my hair some of them were to tight. She loosened them then she went and got an instructor and was told to put the solution on my hair and check every 5 minutes. Once she was done putting the solution on she went into the break room and never came out to check my hair. The instructor never did inspect how she rolled my hair or if she completed the process. To remedy the mess that was made to my hair by the over processing and the way the rods were attached, I had to go to another beautician and get my hair cut about an inch. The beautician showed me that the rubber band that holds the rods in place had made an indentation in my hair. I have had nothing but issues with my hair falling out. I will never go back there due to their inefficient instructions and instructors. Since this was this girls 1st perm she should have had an instructor with her every step of the way. I called and left a message for the manager, but never received a call back. I highly recommend that people think twice before they go to this school.

This was finally handled, and it was handled in a very friendly and professional manner which I appreciated. Due to this, I have decided to raise my rating. Getting a hold of their financing department is a joke, if you plan on going to school here. When I first was trying to get a hold of them, I was always told they were out of the office, or put on hold for long periods of time. Then a few months after I set up payments, they emailed me saying I owed a balance due for my time at school, and it needed to be taken care of to avoid collections. I kindly emailed the lady back and advised that I had already set up payments with them and have been paying on them for months, she let me know she "Missed" that and would correct it (I get it things happen). I emailed her again almost a month ago, and was referred to another lady in their financial department. I emailed that lady twice AND finally heard back after a week. I get email is not always the best form of communication, but I work full time and cannot have my phone so email is the best form of communication for me. Once the lady wrote me back she told me she would look at what I needed her to do and get back to me. Well here we are almost 3 weeks later and I have yet to hear back. I get taking a little bit to respond to an email... but seriously... not this long.

My "Stylist" Bree was very nice and she did a good job, for her first perm. I was there Saturday Feb 22nd 2014. The problem I had was with the Instructor, I didnt get his name but he was pitiful. I will list out the problems 1. He said he would get someone to help roll my hair...he didnt. There were 3 students who were sitting behind us on the other side of the row doing nothing....for 4 hours....they could have helped, but he never asked them. Bree asked and they said no. 2. He came over twice..thats it, thats all.. 3. He didnt check the rollers(this is what they are there for) 4. He came over eating Sour Gummy candy and shot off what to do really quickly and walked away after checking the "S" wave and didnt bother to come back again....by the way,,,the perm didnt take very well and I am left with a crappy half-assed perm. 5. I asked for a bob, and again Bree did a really good job on the cut and the instructor came over again...didnt check it..asked if I liked the cut and walked away. Is he posing as an instructor???? I have never had this kind of service in the 2 years I have been coming to Taylor Andrews. I know what the instructors are supposed to do...and he didnt even bother. I might have to find a new school to get my hair done...I am less than enthused about my hair.

Be specific about what you are looking for. I took a picture of a cut that I wanted and told them all I wanted was a few blond highlights put in. They kept looking at the picture and telling me it would not look like the picture. They convinced me that I had to fix an inch of re-growth on my hair and they ended up putting bleach just around the scalp. That made my hair go white and the ends were medium blonde. I was skeptical and should have went with my instincts. They offered to color over it or bleach my whole head. I opted to bleach all of it and it ended up looking better than I thought and thank god they let someone else cut it. To be fair, the first girl did everything the instructor told her to do. Took 6 hours and had to wash my hair 4 times (deep condition and toner). I would not go back unless it is something really simple, its just too unpredictable. For $70 I think I could have went to a professional. Also, my scalp has been on fire for three days. I can barely sleep. Hopefully my hair does not fall out.

My stylist of 20 years was injured and could not work, leaving me in uncharted territory and out of my comfort zone. Recognizing my hair care was now overdue – I contacted the Taylor Andrews School for an appointment. I am pleased to say, McKaylee Frarrer, my student stylist, did an excellent job on my hair. McKaylee took her time to ask thoughtful questions and ensure she understood my goals. She was very knowledgeable and has a great natural talent for cosmetology and beauty. I am so happy with McKaylee’s work - I plan to go back to her next month!

I love getting my hair done here! Very professional school with a lot of talent. I was so lucky to have got my hair done by Erica Simpson! She did an amazing job coloring my hair. She listened extremely well and was able to execute everything perfectly. One of my favorite moments during the service was her amazing! amazing! shampoo and conditioner manipulation :) I was so relaxed and enjoyed getting my head rubbed in such a nice peaceful shampoo retreat. I WILL be going back especially to Erica. I highly recommend her and this school :)

I just finished my makeup artistry course at Taylor Andrews at the West Jordan location. The class was amazing! We got to meet some amazing makeup artists, and I really feel like we were taught by the best there is. Class size was small, so you really got the attention you needed. The makeup kit included is wonderful for starting off. You receive eye shadows, blush, bronzer, brushes, lipstick, lip liner, lip gloss, primer, cleaner, and so much more! I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in the makeup artistry world.

I go here whenever i want a change to my hair. I love how they take care of me! One day i decided to try and dye my hair at a new salon close to it, and after the other salon messed up my hair, i went to them telling them what happened and they said just because of the last salons mistake they were going to give me a free hair cut!!! i LOVE how they are understanding and yeah u do have to be specific about what u want (obviously) but in the end i was very satisfied so anyone who wants a change to their hair, go here!

Larry Curtis is truely one of a kind, he has always taken the time to help with whatever I may have needed. Mindy Harris did an amazing job weaving my hair. I love the color!!! Mindy was very honest and really helped me figure out what I really wanted. She is such a sweet woman and I am grateful I had the opportunity to have her do my hair. The school is wonderful. Everyone seems really nice and personable. The instructors know what they are doing and seem to really love their jobs and have fun with it. The students are lucky to have such wonderful instructors who really care.

I have been to your salon a few times and worked one with one your fabulous stylists Danielle Lundgreen. She did an awesome job on my hair when it was done. I had also set up an appointment for my son at that time during well and she was able to be patient with him and get his hair looking awesome. I made another appointment and she was awesome and I do plan to book another one in the next few weeks. She did an incredible job and I look forward to working with her again :)

I transferred there from a highschool technical hair school and let me just say that coming from that school to Taylor Andrews was the best decision ever!! Attending Taylor Andrews academy was the best decision I have ever made. The environment is great, instructors are beyond amazing and the knowledge you pick up is top notch above any other beauty school in this state. Walking into the school is like walking into a high end salon. From the instructors to the guest speakers I feel like my daughter is getting the best education here. Gloria is an awesome artist and has really good sense of style and fashion, she taught me a new easier and fast way to style my hair, also when she was cutting my hair she took ownership and worked on it like if it was her seating on that chair getting her hair done instead of me, which for me is a great feeling knowing that she as an artist cared about my appearance
