I thank God I did not go to a school that would make it seem acceptable for students to harmed in such a way that Jasmine was harmed. For staff to tell her not to talk about the issues, then for the President to give out a sorry excuse of a statement about “bullying” when this situation was BEYOND bullying. The evil human being that was Jasmine’s roommate stuck her toothbrush in her bottom, wiped dirty tampons on her belongings and much more! Then the fact that she mentioned her race in a sarcastic manner in her Instagram post shows that this was in some forms racially motivated. So how is this simply “bullying” Mr. President? Jasmine could have died from the bacteria that was found in her body due to her roommate’s actions. If you are planning on sending your child to this school I HIGHLY suggest that you reconsider. Especially since it seems as if the school and the President are only interested in saving face and keeping situations like this under wraps. Who’s to say incidents like this haven’t happened before, especially with Jasmine being told that her ‘no contact agreement’ meant that she could not talk to anyone about the situation. DO BETTER UNIVERSITY OF HARTFORD. Parents send their children to you with the hopes that you will take care of them in cases and scenarios as horrific as this one.

I agree with other posters who had negative experiences at this school. The faculty and staff are mostly unhelpful, especially if you are a transfer student. There is really no formalized system for admitting transfer students. Faculty and staff FREQUENTLY did not show up to appointments. Most are very rude, some even insulting (Dr yavuzturk, in the engineering department, is one in particular; avoid at all costs). This school is so antiquated, they continue to require students to fill out paper forms, that must be reviewed and signed by 3 individuals, in order to select classes. The student must then distribute copies to various departments; I thought this system was obsoleted in about 1998, with the adoption of website based course selection methods. They treat their students with disdain, bully them, and presume that no one has ever seen another college, and that all schools are run this poorly. It was very disappointing to me; I struggled for 2 semesters, before transferring to a different school. This was my first choice because of closeness to home, and the evening class selection (I work during the day). Ultimately, I am at CCSU, and much happier; no stress with class selection, bureaucrats, etc... Its a sorry school. Avoid if at all possible...

I am absolutely disgusted at the lack of response this university has had with the issue of Jazzy. Now, I understand that the incident, initially, was not their fault. They can’t control what a student does. But what they do after is what changes the way the university is seen after incidents like this one. Hartford University, this will go down on history as proof that racism is still alive and no one is doing anything to prevent and change this. That girl has had so much support from strangers, friends and family but NOTHING is ever going to make her forget the experience she had at Hartford and the lack of support she got from the University. I didn’t even have to look at ratings, pictures or location of Hartford University to give this review. Just by knowing that it’s not giving it’s students the right amount of support makes me sure that this is not a safe environment for ANYONES child. Go get a degree somewhere else where your safety is assured. Go get a degree somewhere that can assess issues like this university couldn’t.

Worst school attend, facility suck you email them and they respond but it may take up to 5 days and when you get and answer they never answer you back, if you set up a meeting you may never see them because they are always busy doing nothing. The Food is ass, same food each and every day, during orientation they showed they hired people outside of the school to cook to make it seem as if it was good. I have learned nothing because the education is not challenging and all the work is known prior to school. Teachers do not update grades on blackboard but yet have them in their office. So you have to play the guessing game to find out your grade. Do not attend it was a waste of 50,000 you will become more successful at a community college. Trying to transfer from here is difficult because they are never willing to give you your transcript when asked for. And advisors only help you with nothing.

Justice for Jazzy. The people that let this hate crime happen in the University and the girl that did this hate crime should all be turned into slaves. Get a taste of true disrespect. Last time I checked Caucasians are going to be a minority soon in the United States, keep that in mind. You never know maybe history will repeat itself in reverse and Caucasians will be the slaves. Just maybe we will use Marcus Garvey‘s theory of separatism and send the Caucasians to Their homeland as well, surprisingly it’s Africa.

University of Hartford is a better school than Quinnipiac University. I visited University of Hartford. It welcomes National Origin, Race and Religion with open arms. Would recommend to attend University of Hartford over Quinnipiac University. Care about students and alumni from foreign countries. National Origin, Race, and Creed is a top priority to University of Hartford. I have first hand experience of Quinnipiac University. QU will discriminate if your Indian, Chinese, Black.

I loved my 4 yrs there. I am shocked to see these horrible reviews. This makes me really sad. The dorms are much much better then many schools out there and the faculty is amazing. I had a wonderful college experience at Hartford. The University has improved drastically over the last few years and is always changing for the better.

THis college is going to allow Brianna Brochues to get away with rubbing tampons on another students possesions. Putting fecal matter, spit, moldy food, on her items, this is a hate crime. THe school told he victim NOT to say anything about what was done to her.

The fact that this University allow the predator Brianna brochu to stay on campus weeks after she poisoned her roommate repeatedly is disgusting. Also the fact tha this University did not expel her and let her withdrawal makes them complicit to her actions.

Academically: A great school with many oppurtunities and professors that will help you. Socially: Its horrible Overall if your just coming for the degree and dont care about your social life then its a great school. If not then it may not be for you

A nice school to attend. Good education, and a fairly scenic campus. Be sure to look for the resident geese and hawks. Close to area amenities, with a pretty vibrant student life.
