I am deeply disturbed by a SRPFCU membership drive commercial that I just viewed, and I find it necessary to submit this Google Review. I am submitting it Anonymously, and have hopes that I may save someone from the trouble of becoming a member of this bank. My customer experience with SRPFCU was horrible. At first, I was not a member of the bank, and attempted to gain membership by applying for an auto loan. I had a decent credit score, but the result was a denial.....(which should have been a HINT). I waited six months.....paid off credit cards,...... and I gained an auto loan through a car dealership on a different pre-owned SUV. This loan had decent terms, including payment and interest rate, but there was room for improvement. The next month, I became a member of SRPFCU by opening a Savings Account, and within a few months I applied for a new loan on a newer model car with lower miles. All of these cars and SUVs were once dream cars. By purchasing this newer car I wanted to gain a lower interest rate, payment and further build my credit. I also purchased this car for better fuel economy. Although this application was successful, my problems had just begun. I wondered if I was moving too fast, or if my car was too attractive. Becoming a member of SRPFCU turned out to be the worst decision that I have ever made. The relationship was extremely strange and weird at times. I made timely payments, and usually tried to pay three months in advance. The eerie feeling never went away, and it still lingers. Eventually I learned the reason why being a member of this Credit Union always had an air of caution. Things changed (for the worst) rapidly after gaining the SRPFCU loan on this newer luxury model sports car. There are things that I will not discuss in this Anonymous Post, but I must once again state that being a member of SRPFCU was not good for me. Within six months, I was almost forced to purchase another car....and all though SRPFCU willingly accepted this loan....on another dream car.....the strange/ weird/ cautious feeling never left. My roller coaster of a life continued for three more years.......as I continued to drive this third auto,.....and the eerie feeling never left. During these three years, I also called the Credit Union to inquire about purchasing a home, and was turned away during the telephone interview. All the while the Asset Recovery Department of the Bank wanted to take ownership of my cars.......and sell them for pennies on the dollar......to their friends. THIS IS THE BUYER BEWARE NOTICE TO ALL LOAN APPLICANTS WHO ARE CONDUCTING RESEARCH ON THIS BANK. BEWARE. NOT EVERYONE AT THE BANK WANTS "YOU" TO LIVE "YOUR DREAM LIFE."
