We recently had the DESC energy team out to our house to do an assessment of our house and any potential areas that we could improve for energy savings. Our house is 14+ years old, so we knew there were areas for improvement. The DESC team did a very detailed inspection of our attic area. After their review they explained to us how housing codes have changed and that our builders had maybe lacked on the initial code. Long story short. Our attic is now completely air sealed. The insulation was roughly 7-8 inches and trampled down, now it is up to code at 15 inches plus and perfect. The team informed us that the front of bedroom closet on the exterior wall of our house did not have any insulation at all. They remedied that issue without issue and it wasn’t even in the scope of the initial quote. My first thought was, why did I pay someone to do a home inspection prior to purchasing this house, but it is what it is. Live and learn. I could not be happier with the work that the DESC team did at our house. This type of work can be tedious and frankly really messy. These guys worked very hard and quickly, all while doing a great job. When they completed the job and left you could not tell that they had ever been here. Very thorough and clean. For piece of mind, DESC includes in the final quote that they will do everything to meet your goals and expectations in their work. They stay true to this in every step of the project. Finally the results. Upstairs we used to have very noticeable drafts in the master bath and upstairs bedrooms. These have been eliminated completely. The difference was noticeable on day one. The work is recent, so we haven’t received enough energy bills to determine the financial saving, but the first bill did show savings. I will post once I have a greater sample size for savings. The DESC Energy team was professional, on time and really worked hard to give us what we were looking for. I knew that we would be warmer and more efficient. I didn’t expect to be this much warmer. An additional benefit is that we have noticed a significant reduction in outside noise when we are sleeping. I don’t normally post reviews, but this was a top notch experience that exceeded my expectations. I could not be more happy with the work that the DESC team did at our house.

I cannot say enough good things about Chris Shepherd and his Dr. Energy Saver team. They were extremely professional and thorough from start to finish, and we have been much more comfortable in our home. We bought new geothermal units for our 50 year old home when we purchased it a couple of years ago. We thought the geothermal unit that was solely responsible for heating and cooling the second level of our house was malfunctioning so we had it inspected and had someone come out to service it because it just couldn’t hold the temperature setting even though it ran almost constantly. But the unit seemed fine. Finally, we thought that we needed to consider that it might be a different problem altogether. So my husband did some research and we called Dr. Energy Saver. Throughout the diagnostic process, which was very informative and spot-on as it turned out, Chris and his team kept us up to date on the needs of our home and how to fix them. We actually learned a lot about making our home more energy-efficient. We were concerned about pricing since we were correcting some mistakes made by previous insulation installers and adding insulation in places that had never been insulated; they brought us two detailed, cost-effective estimates, customized everything for us and were very pleasant to work with. When they began working on our home, some unexpected challenges arose, including tornado warnings and loss of electricity, but they handled everything with professionalism and excelled in solving the problems, and in a way that was no extra cost to us. They were willing to put in extra time daily to finish the job on time. And in the end, we were thrilled with the results. It has been almost a year now, and our home has been cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. We had grown accustomed to some areas of our home varying in temperature from the rest of the house and didn’t realize how extreme the differences really were until the problem was fixed. We no longer have to tweak the thermostats all the time to keep the temperature regulated. It is hard to believe the profound improvement we have seen in our home. I highly recommend Chris and Dr. Energy Saver.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am for Dr. Energy Saver. We have been in our house now for over a year and the cooling/heating bills have been crippling. With the colder weather we have been spending crazy amounts of money to heat the house and our daughters room was the coldest room in the house. We would have to have a space heater on 24/7 in her room to make it just livable. Plus our floors would be so cold you would have to have socks and slippers on all the time. I was fed up with it and so I contacted two companies USA Insulation and Dr. Energy Saver. USA was only in our house for less than 15 mins, while Chris was in our house doing all sorts of test for over an hour. So the decision was an easy one! I contacted Chris at Dr. Energy Saver about helping us fix the problem. Chris, Jason and their crew showed up right on time and I was shocked they took the time to introduce me to each of their crewmembers. Which was extremely comforting since I’m a stay at home mom with my husband at work when they were here. HUGE plus in my book, team was so kind and extremely professional. They were at the house for a day- working on re-sealing the attic and placing new insulation in the attic, as well as working in the basement on the “rim joist” I believe that is what Jason said it was called. After they left I was curious so I turned my heat off- and OMG my floors are warm and the biggest plus is that my daughters room is warm and the space heater doesn’t have to be on all the time. I am extremely grateful to Chris and Jason. Thank you so much for making my house more enjoyable. Can’t wait to see the difference in the summer! I highly recommend them, and I am kicking myself for waiting so long to call them!! Thank you again Dr. Energy Saver!

Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati is a first class organization. I needed to replace insulation in my attic and called multiple different companies to get a quote on the job. I had several companies give me a quote over the phone or through an email, and one that came to my house and gave me a quote without even stepping through the front door. Jason, with Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati, came to my house, listened while I explained what was going on, and thoroughly evaluated my house and attic. He brought me along and showed me all the potential issues. After the evaluation, he went through all options on how to remedy the situation. He explained in depth how each option worked and emailed me literature on the options. The quoted prices were among the most competitive. He and his team were extremely professional and contentious. They were true to the times they said they would arrive, and if they were even going to be 10 mins late, I was notified. They worked efficiently and respected our home as if it was theirs. When the job was done, I was shown all the work they did, and they left without a trace of them being in our house. (Probably did a better job cleaning than I would). The team even followed up with emails the following day to see if we were happy with the work. I recommend Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati to anyone as I had a wonderful experience working with them.

Chris from Dr Energy saver did an amazing overhaul of our house. From the attic, my walk in closet, to sealing the gas fireplace from awful drafts, the house now feels amazing and consistent from room to room. We have lived here for over 15 years and just got used to the quirks of our house. I never would have thought in a million years that we would use the fireplace again and not have a rediculous gas bill. January has been a real treat with the fireplace and also to wake up and not be freezing getting out of bed. I would absolutely recommend Chris and all of his team from Dr energy saver. They were very thorough, respectful of my time and went above and beyond to ensure the job was done with quality and care. This kind of customer service is hard to come by these days!!
