Jackie Runk is the most professional and competent person that I have ever done business with. Let me explain; I had gone to contract on a newly built townhome out-of-state (Colorado we are from NY). We were pre-approved by a local (national recognized) bank who was recommended by the builder. Pre-approval was required by the builder to validate the contract. Two months into the process the builder’s bank started to ask a lot more questions and said that we would only get approved at a much higher rate than estimated. We were then told that we might not even be able to get a mortgage, at all, due to a change in rules. I was complaining to the guys at work and one of them told me that I must call Jackie Runk. He told me that she was great and helped him obtain a VA mortgage in NY even though her office was in Kansas. I called Jackie; she answered her phone and spent an hour talking with me. During that week she spent hours either talking or emailing back-and-forth with me. While she was able to help with any type mortgage, she suggested that I apply for a VA loan. Jackie went so far as coordinate via email and phone with the builders to explain the process of them becoming VA approved. I found all of this amazing as I never even committed to using NB of KC. Well I was convinced and changed the banker of record with the builder, to Jackie Runk National Bank of Kansas. Jackie returns calls and emails even on the weekends (UNBELIEVABLE). She has a work ethic that is legendary and one that EVERYONE should aspire to. THANK YOU THANK YOU, THANK YOU Jackie! Now when I hear someone talking about a mortgage I tell them that they must call Jackie Runk at the National Bank of Kansas.

I found NBKC while browsing the web for some of the highest rated mortgage companies. I am happy to say that they certainly lived up to that reputation. Their staff was especially courteous, timely, engaging, and extremely helpful throughout the entire mortgage process. Additionally, I felt no pressure to go with them as my lender, even though I spent significant time running mortgage scenarios with them so that I could better understand what my budget would be before looking for a home. When I did finally need a preapproval letter it was over the weekend on a Saturday. Within 4 hours of contacting my rep., I had a pre approval letter in my email and forwarded to my realtor. When my offer was accepted on the house, NBKC was my first choice to be my lender. They have a great online tool that makes it easy to upload all of the documentation I needed for my loan and they were great about ensuring all documentation was completed. At the closing, there was small error on the paper work and even though I was 2 hours ahead of my rep’s time zone (Eastern time versus mountain time) he was available at 7 am his time to help me correct a document and carry on with the closing. This was probably the most impressive part of the whole process. In short, I am extremely pleased with NBKC and encourage anyone to take a look at obtaining your mortgage through them.

Best mortgage experience yet. This is third time for me and it went at light speed, at least at the beginning. I solicited the quote on a Monday evening and the broker called me first thing Tuesday morning. On Friday the appraiser called and was there the next day! Frustratingly there was an old HELOC that was not properly closed on the last refi that surfaced. Had it not been for that I am sure we would have closed in less than 3 weeks from my soliciting the quote. Nevertheless we closed in less than 30 days and everyone at NBKC and their affiliates were fantastic even while dealing with a very difficult situation regarding the impossible and asinine HELOC people. It has been the lowest cost, smoothest process loan I have had yet. My broker Steve Johnson was great to work with. I had initially gone back to the broker I had for last refi but he quoted me too high of cost and rate, when I said I was going to check out something else he said they would do a "bait and switch" but the costs that Steve Johnson at NBKC quoted were what was charged. Highly recommend NBKC!

Wonderful experience being first time home buyers! We checked in different banks offering mortgage loans for better rate and National Bank stood out. Our mortgage lender was Sharon Farnsworth. On a lighter note, as her name has "worth", it is worthy working with her. From day one, she was always sweet, never gave false promises. We submitted all the documents very early. She would check on us every time to see what is pending. When she was on vacation for a week, Jamie Hamilton took over and she did a splendid job answering all the questions. We closed on time and as a matter of fact, we were ready to close 10 days before the scheduled time. It really relieved stress fro us as we were not the ones holding the process back whatsoever. Day before closing, Sharon went over the closing estimate and answered all the questions breaking down to our level as we had lot of 1st time questions. She even took time to be there for closing. I would recommend Sharon and Jamie at National Bank to all my friends. They will take an extra step to make sure we are happy.

VERY DISAPPOINTED, it all started out very pleasant with promises of no closing costs, and ending up with in addition to my 3000 earnest check, still having to come to the table with 2400. To “these are all the documents we need”, and ending up asking me for almost everything under the sun. Then from “we’ll close when you need us to close” to, “we’ll need 30 days to close” which I’m fine with, I just wish I could’ve got some straight up front answers. I told him (Herb Manson) from the beginning, I need you to be straight up front with me, and tell me what you need from me in order for this to get done. Still 2 weeks before closing AFTER he told me, “EVERYTHING IS GOOD” I was getting “I need 2 more things” every other day until the day of closing. If it wasn’t for my wife, I was on my way to USAA to start the process all over again. NOW, I do understand, that the underwriters may have a lot to do with this, but unless this whole department is new, there’s no excuse. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS BANK OF ANY OF ITS BRANCHES TO ANY OF MY SOLDIERS.

I was pretty far into the home purchase process with a different lender that started giving me the run around, not living up to their agreements, and treating me like I had no other options since closing was 30 days out. I decided to inquire with NBKC as an alternative, where their rep Travis Smith was incredibly helpful and just downright AMAZING! He responded to me immediately after my inquiry and dedicated that same evening to submitting my package. The level of dedication Travis provided to me as a customer was impressive and I had instant reassurance that I DID have other options. On top of that, the rates and closing costs provided by NBKC were nearly unbeatable. Needless to say, my previous lender was kicking themselves and completely changed their tune the moment I disclosed working with NBKC and what they were offering to me. NBKC and Travis Smith saved me several thousand dollars in closing costs, as well as over sixty thousand dollars plus throughout the lifetime of the mortgage! Thank you so much; highly recommended!

Mike Morris and the National Bank of KC gave us the best mortgage experience we’ve ever had purchasing a home. This is the 3rd home we’ve bought in the past decade and we’ve never had a partner like Mike before. He was candid, positive, informative, and patient during the whole process. He set great expectations on the timing, potential hurdles, and unveiled many of the tricks and gimmicks used by others in the industry. I couldn’t tell you how many times he took my call in the middle of the day to just explain some arcane part of the process or help me feel comfortable about where we were. Even when a home feel through (due to an issue with the appraisal), Mike was right there picking up the pieces and talking next steps. We got a fabulous rate and Mike was always proactive about what we needed and what was next. He was just as excited as we closed as we were. Wonderful experience and Kudos to the National Bank of KC for having such a great guy on their team.

Travis at National Bank of KC was great! I found this bank through Zillow, and was a little skeptical being that Alabama is no where near KC, but there published rates were low, so I gave them a shot. I am so thankful that I did! I am a small business owner and have found it difficult to get home loans through the years. My income does not come through a typical W-2. Travis was Knowledgeable, honest, and most of all very diligent in working with the underwriters. He had a good idea of what documents the underwriter would be looking for so I could prepare them in advance of the request. He was able to get me into a FHA loan with little down payment and a rate that was a quarter percent lower than anyone else. The closing process went smoothly on the Bank end and we were able to close in a timely manner. In conclusion, I would recommend this bank to anyone.

We needed a VA loan from a bank and the National bank of KC lived up to their reputation as a great lender with the very best service. Mike Limback was the most amazing account representative we could have asked for. He answered all of our questions, took extra time to walk us though the steps, was there at times on weekends as my husbands and my schedule did not work to touch base during the week., and he worked with our lawyer and real estate agent flawlessly. We are in NY and mike was in KC but it was like he was with us in our neighborhood and knew everything we needed even before we did. We got an amazing rate lower then the national average and even got money back at the closing. I would recommend the National Bank of KC to everyone who is buying a home. Please work with Mike Limback if you can, he will do everything in his power to help you.

We chose National Bank of Kansas because it had some of the best rates in the country and they were recommended to us by those who had a good experience with them in the past. Glen Coger was our loan officer and was very helpful throughout the our loan process locking us in a great rate. Patience was another attribute of the representatives as the loan process can be stressful for all parties involved Glen responded to tense situation between parties in a calm demeanor. As this was our first time buying a home, keep in mind that they are very thorough throughout the loan process with all requested documents and the best thing you can do is to ensure you are highly proactive in responding to requesting information to help the process to completion. Beyond that be patient and keep the communication lines open.

Ryan Little made my experience very easy. He even set us up with an insurance provider (who was also able to get us a lower car insurance rate) and he set us up with the title company. We bought our home from the buyer directly (no realtor involved), so the process would have been very stressful, as we are first-time homebuyers. However, Ryan made this very easy for us, educating us about the process and being easily accessible when we had questions. He went into detail about which loan option would be the best for us and helped us decide on the best option. He got us a good rate and was able to help us meet our closing date, even though the situation was complicated. Overall, very good experience. We will be using them in the future for other loans and would definitely recommend to anyone seeking a home loan.

I started working with Dave of National Bank of Kansas City after my realtor recommended him to me. I was very impressed with his timeliness of response and his ability to work with me. I was deployed when I started looking and within a very short amount of time I knew what I could afford. He was very quick with a response to any questions I had and always knew the answers. When it came time to purchase the home and close he was able to meet my requested closing date which was almost a week before what we had originally planned. His ability to make this happen quickly and more importantly correctly was by far the most impressive thing. Oh by the way did I mention he was able to get me an amazing rate that I could not find anywhere else. Overall I would absolutely recommend the services of Dave.
