I want to share with you how pleasant it was to get to know, and to do business with, your staff at Milend, Inc. I am very ‘paranoid’ and can be very hard to please, so it was most unexpected when I first received a cold call from Ms. Tiffany Haynes back in August. I had actually forgotten that, in a weak moment, I asked for a quote on a mortgage refinance several months ago. We had gotten a call from our current mortgage lender pretty quickly but they weren’t really interested in doing anything and the call was very much a ‘courtesy call’. I only had two items on my agenda with a refinance: Combine a first and second mortgage and recognize an interest rate decrease and a monthly payment decrease. So, really three things I guess. Ditech, my original lender, said there were no provisions for ever combining the two loans and they only agreed to refinance my first mortgage into a 15 year mortgage, which was ridiculous as my 15th anniversary would be coming up anyway in a couple of years, at the same interest rate we had. The agent was rude, condescending, and had no interest in doing business with me. So we didn’t. However, that day when Tiffany called, I had planned to get her off the phone quickly, basically because I never share personal information with anyone over the telephone unless I CALL THEM. And then I’m not really comfortable with it. But Tiffany is so down to earth, and has that sparkle in her personality which comes through in her voice, so I just kept talking to her. I’ve never met her, still haven’t, but in a very short time I felt that she could be trusted and that she genuinely may be able to help me. So, again, I kept talking. We spoke a couple of times early on, and while not sure we would actually do business together, I felt more and more comfortable and the relationship continued. One of the things that your company is fortunate to have is employees who exude confidence and that ‘go-getter’ attitude that draws people in. Tiffany was the first contact, but I can truly say that I never communicated with any member of your staff that was not the same. What a joy to work with! Being older, I still do not quite understand all the aspects of finance, yet your staff never once ‘spoke down to me’ or made me feel that I was an inconvenience. Tiffany, in particular, made every effort to insure that I understood all aspects of the process and made choices based on measuring merits, not what ‘sounded’ the best. All of your staff made more than token efforts to make me comfortable with all aspects of the process, right down to choosing an attorney who ended up living across the street from me! I also did not know her prior to this transaction, yet I now have a new friend in the neighborhood. How nice! If I have the occasion to either refinance, or more likely, make another home purchase, you can be assured that I will seek out Milend as my first choice for assistance in obtaining my mortgage financing. As I said initially, it was a total pleasure to work with all of your firm. You are truly blessed to have such talent and experience at your disposal.

MiLend, and specifically Aaron Pharr, made purchasing a home a breeze. At every turn Aaron and team were there to coach me through the process and make sure that I was not alone stress-free, but comfortable and knowledgeable about everything. I have raved about them to my friends and family, and I am happy to give them 5 stars here. Honestly, if I could give 10 I would. They truly do put you/your family first and want nothing more than to get you into your dream home, all while positioning you to gain equity in your home and either aggressively pay it off, or eventually cash in on said equity, and upgrade. We have purchased 2 homes using MiLend, and quite honestly as long as they and Aaron are around, I will not even look at another company. Stop googling/searching for a company... you found it already.

In the past ten years I try to refi twice with other lenders, only to come back to Milend and do it right. Ten years ago a lender changed the terms on my at the closing table so I walked away. Recently, Amerisave buried me in nonsensical documentation requests and a drawn out process even though they said they could close in as little as 4 days. Each time David Heinrich and his team helped me out and did a great job. They have good rates and an efficient support staff. Also, they are super honest so there are surprises at the closing table. Last month, I closed a refi in under a month and I wholeheartedly recommend them.Next time I will go to them first.

The company overall was fine. I am just extremely disappointed with the outcome of our refinance. We were sold one loan and received another. In the end, our monthly payments were $300 higher than initially quoted! When I complained, Michael LaCagnina said he would "fix it" by refinancing us again with no cost and free appraisal, after contacting him a few months later, he has not returned my calls or emails. Please if you use this company, do not use Michael LaCagnina.
