This is my facts based review about GEICO.
I’ve been a costumer for over 10yrs. I never had a claim before the hail damage in my Ford F350. After starting the claim I was requested by GEICO take my truck to Caliber Collision where they supposed to take 30min to do and estimate.
After arriving waiting for 30min a was asked to park my truck inside the building and after waiting for another hour standing there next to my truck, with no information at all…. No one told me where the waiting area was, what was the process to follow, who my adjuster was, no communication at all. I tried to get some info out of a employee looking at the hail damage and he said “I’m a third party, I just look at what paint less repairs we can do”, “I’m not with GEICO”…. At some point after 1.5hrs of standing around my truck, a Geico employee says here is your estimate, here is your check, good-bye.
They didn’t included the damage to the bug-shield done by almost golf size hail damage, or other things that were not damage before the storm. I try to say something about it but they were not willing or wanting to listen.
After reading their estimate and realizing they were using parts from the JUNK YARD, I took it to Jackie Collision, a trusted repair shop I dealt with them before. So they gave me a 100% based estimate in the original estimate from Caliber; the big difference is the quality of the parts, paint, new parts not junk yard parts, and the craftsmanship. The estimate was higher by $1,500 obviously a proper repair with quality parts will cost more.
Submitted the estimate for a supplemental check, and Geico will not cut us a check!
Those are the facts, now here is my personal opinion:
• Worse costumer service I’ve ever got. From the people at Caliber Collision to the regional GEICO staff here in Greenville. I’m currently shopping for another company.
• What’s the point of paying for extra coverage if when you need it, the coverage only pays for a low quality repair…… when I pay my insurance premium I do not short them 30%.
• If I add up all the years of extra premium coverage I paid for to GEICO, I could’ve repaired this out of pocket and saved money!!!

Geico is just pathetic in SC. I had geico for many years in NC and when I moved my insurance prenimum jumped 110% they claim that its the rates in sc where I live. Hutni can get insurance through state farm for 122/month. On top of that they told me that when I moved, I needed to get my car registered and titled to sc and my prenimum would drop. Not the case my insurance prenimum went up another 100$. After calling and asking they told menthat he prenimum was correct, and that they were not going to adjust it. I was involved in a accident may 5 and geico sent me to image collision. I never heard from the adjuster islam austin at all. I had to call image collision to see what was up. I never got an estimate or anyhing. By the time I finally got a call from islam austin, it was only to tell me to go get my car, which was ready 3 days prior to him calling to tell me what image collision alreadt had. Geico is very shady in SC and will lie in a heart beat.

Great customer service from desk staff. Went to inquire of an open claim. I was advised, I had to call Geico customer service 1-800# on my own vs. being offered to call on my behalf since I was there in a Geico local office???. The lady I initially talked to upon arrival left the office and I was tossed to another rep, but I was advised that would happened. I would have preferred to deal with same lady and not have to explain why I was there a 2nd time with a different person.

I was with Geico for over five years with decent service until my rates kept slowly going up every six months and I realized that they were price gouging me! I save $425 every six months by switching to a larger, more well renowned company!!

Do not get insurance with Geico they will cheat and lie to you. They are the worst and the insurance adjuster Islam or whatever his name is is terrible. Please do not make the same mistake myself and many others have made by using Geico...

Have been with Geico almost 20 years! Got a shock in the mail that my insurance increased by a good bit. Called to make changes and they added 10 more a month for that. Needless to say Gieco will no longer be my auto insurance company!

Worst Service ever!! Charged almost double than others. When i tried to cancel the policy he yelled at me on the phone!!!! Never go back to Liberty Mutual because of him
