There was a time when being a member of the California State Automobile Association and holding an automobile insurance policy with that organization meant something special. Unfortunately that is no longer true. CSAA has, in recent years, departed from its roots and abandoned its core membership and policyholders, specifically, those of us who live in Northern California and Nevada. Back in the day, a member could walk into any of the conveniently located District Offices and receive superb customer service - no longer is that the case. CSAA has gone the way of "service stations", retail customer service in major department stores, and so many other locations where service once meant what the word implies: individual attention and a sense we, as customers, were actually important to the organization we were patronizing. I once would recommend CSAA membership and insurance without hesitation. Not anymore. Now I would encourage anyone who asked to shop the market and find the best available pricing for insurance that corresponds to their needs. To utilize the Internet for travel planning and navigational requirements; TripAdvisor, Google Maps, and a plethora of other valuable sites can assist anyone with a computer, tablet, or Smartphone to do for themselves that which CSAA used to because there were not the resources now available 24/7, 365 online. IMHO

I have had their auto insurance for 20 years with no problem then I got their homeowners insurance. I had a on site inspection and they said I had some peeling paint that needed to be fixed by a date that I missed. I explained my home is in a historic district and I was getting approval for all new windows and siding which was approved. I showed them the building permit and the contractors licence but they still wanted me to repaint the house or they would not renew. They forced me to cancel and find new insurance. Thank you Nationwide. I will be looking for new auto insurance also. FRUSTRATED

On my Automobile Policy Declarations it shows CSAA INSURANCE EXCHANGE, OAKLAND, CA. When searching for CSAA INSURANCE EXCHANGE OAKLAND, CA. Walnut Creek, Ca. sites come up.What is the difference? And if my polices show Oakland, Ca I would assume Oakland, Ca. site would be listed.

They will spend your money to pay their attorneys then pay you on your injury that is not your fault. They refuse to reasonably compensate you even you and the other party are insured by them.
