I have read through these comments and had to leave one of my own after receiving a check from Capitol Preferred yesterday 10/10/2017. I had damage to my house from Hurricane Irma and immediately filed a claim. I know all insurance companies were extremely busy at this time so i did not expect to receive any information within a specific time frame. Approx 1 week after submitting my claim online i was called to schedule a time with an adjuster. He came out 09/25/2017, was at my house for 10 minutes and advised me i would hear news on my claim within 21 days. I expected to hear something at the earliest 10/17 however yesterday I received a check with a complete break down of what the appraiser quoted and how they came up with the amount. To say the least i am completely satisfied. I sent estimates to Capitol insurance prior to the appraiser coming out from multiple companies that i had reached out to. As the policy read i took multiple photos of before, during and after the repairs. The amount i received obviously was not the same as quoted however it was off by a minimal amount. Not sure why all the post against this company are so negative, my experience over the last 3 years have been great.

Completely worthless company! The 3 positive reviews here are from insurance agents affiliated with Capitol Preferred! Do not do business with this company. They will not honor your claim unless told by a judge after a lengthy court battle!

This company absolutely stinks. they cancelled my home owners insurance without notifying me either via my mortgage company or my home address. I was very shocked! Do not use this company!
