I am going through a very difficult time financially and have been trying to stay afloat for over a year now. Unfortunately, I just keep getting farther and farther behind. I January 15th, 2014, I finally pocketed my pride and met with Marva White and Anasol Roldan to discuss my options for bankruptcy. From the moment I walked into KEL attorneys office in Tampa, I felt a sense of relief. Ms White and Attorney Roldan were very professional and also personal, and took all the time I needed in order for me to fully understand my options. I signed a contract that day. Later that week I was contacted by Jennifer Prendergast and I have been working closely with her via telephone and email. She has been very professional, empathetic and a true delight to work with. Every time I speak with her, I am further assured that I made the right choice in Law Firms. My bankruptcy is still several weeks away but I am truly confident that I am in the right hands. Gratefully William P Dennis RN, OCN Bill Update, 3-25-15 It has been a long journey but we have file the final bankruptcy papers. I have had several additional hospitalizations and reductions in pay which have delayed the process several times. I have dealt with numerous individuals at KEL and although they all try their best to help me, it is frustrating that they continue to change the people that I speak to. I realize that this process has taken a long time but it would be very helpful if I could speak with the same people from beginning to end. Because of the changing of staff it has also made communication difficult and could be approved on. As I say, I am very pleased with the overall service that KEL has provided for me, with the exception of the above. Thank You for your help KEL Bill

I don’t normally post reviews, but I wanted to share my story, because I feel like it changed my life. I was at financial crossroad in my life and didn’t know where to turn. I didn’t really even know what my legal options were at the time, if any. I remember listening to Matt Englett on the radio some time back and remember thinking he had a lot of good advice when answering listener questions, so I decided to call his firm. When I called I was put in touch with a Ms. Hogue and after listening to my story, she had a lot of good advice, and to my surprise, I had a lot of legal options that I could use to my advantage. As much as I hate to admit it, I felt like a huge burden was lifted, but I still wanted to think everything through before deciding what route I should take….I decided to call back a few days later after talking everything over with my wife. Long story short, I decided to retain LawyerASAP, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I could’ve made at the time. The legal process for my personal situation wasn’t easy and to be honest it was a big pain with all of the documentation gathering, etc., but the whole time I felt like they were there to guide me through it and to assure me that it would get better, if only I hang in there. Reluctantly I continued to follow their advice and let the process run its course, and what a difference it made once I exited from what I call “My Dark Period.” Thank you so much for helping my family and I and a big shout out to everyone who was involved with my case!!

DO NOT USE!!! RIP OFF REPORT!!! The law firm, Kaufman, Englett and Lynd, was awarded a rating of an ‘F’ in 2011 by the Better Business Bureau because of its failure to “to resolve the underlying cause of a pattern of (client) complaints.” Because of pressure from the Better Business Bureau, the law firm decided to remove itself from the accreditation program of the organization, the first time a law firm did this in the history of the Better Business Bureau. KEL law firm founders disciplined by Florida Supreme Court.... The Florida Supreme Court ordered that the three founders of Kaufman, Englett & Lynd PA law firm be publicly reprimanded. All three founders acknowledged they failed to communicate properly with clients about cases. In addition to the reprimand, the owners also were ordered to attend ethics schools and pay the cost of Florida Bar investigation. Mistakes in a consumer-bankruptcy case involving Sanchez and the inadvertent violation of a related court order drew the wrath of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Arthur Briskman, who temporarily barred KEL from practicing bankruptcy law in the Middle District of Florida. The Orlando-based judge later filed a complaint with The Florida Bar and cited KEL itself for what he termed “unprofessional” work.

So far this has been the worst decision in regards to choosing a lawyer ever. When you file a bankruptcy they purposely drag it on as long as they possibly can so they can go after your creditors. my wife and Paid in full to File and so far have received 800 and they over 5k of creditors/ money. Oh yeah I forgot to mention they told me when I hired them 2 weeks shy of a full year ago that it will be done by xmas. 1 year later in a even worse spot than before. If it doesnt file by the end of this month, we have to pay them more money. I will rather start over again and cut my losses now. Pretty much knew we made a terrible mistake after we paid them the 2k for the Chapter 7 because they moved their office which set everything back at least 90 days. We have had to give them the same paperwork 4 to 6 times over and since then I have been shuffled to 3 different lawyers and paralegals the only department that has their stuff togather is the debt harassment people. Which is the reason why because its easy money for them. If it files and goes through I will update. If I could give a negative star at this point I would!

Started out as a great lawyer then dropped the ball. Her paralegal Oxalis was amazing and extremely helpful, so helpful that she was promoted and sent to work in their Tampa office. Since Oxalis has been gone, Jennifer had been too busy to inform us of the status of our case, return our emails or phone calls. In order for us to reach Jenniifer, we had to refuse to give them anymore money and the billing department would get ahold of her for us. Three weeks and still trying to get in touch with her. Nothing had been done in our case since mediation, which was 5 months ago. We have finally given up and hired a new lawyer. Our new lawyer contacted Jennifer and they agreed to do a substitution of lawyers. That was 2 weeks ago and Jennifer still has not sent over the paperwork to be signed and filed. Our lawyer is now trying to contact her with the paperwork already filled out for her to sign and as of today we have no response. Dont waste your time or money with Jennifer or K.E.L

if people think it was a horrible experience hiring KEL for there cases just imagine what it was like as an employee! Every year around thanks giving (early November) they start giving people (regardless if good/bad employee) the BOOT! heartless! right before the holidays. You cannot ever be comfortable working there. They even laid off there entire HR team and replaced them with a consultant. They used the head person of HR to give everyone the axe and then axed her! Managers and supervisors encourage employees to lie to clients! all about the money. avoid this firm. they lost a good experienced employee (over 5 years experience) and kept only the incompetent and less experienced! What logic was that? Ridiculous! this firm is going down hill. The people who post positive reviews about KEL are either paid posers or spammers! I wasted 6 months of my life! why hire only to lay off every year?

I did not want to be one of those people that gave bad reviews..but here it goes...after having several properties that I had bought w/ my parents go into foreclosure I was forced into bankrupty. We paid their fees and were advised on how to proceed. In the end it ended up costing more. As with other reviews we were shuffled from person to person. Poorly advised. It took 5 months from the date of the last payment recieved for them to file our bankrupty. The intake would demand paperwork. It would be overnighted. And two weeks later she would call saying that she would need more paperwork. This happened 4 times. Delaying us for up to 3 months. If she would have done her job we would not have been in this situation. I am upset, b/c this lawfirm herds them in like cattle and butchers everything in the end. Stay away..hire a real attorney...not this joke of a lawfirm..

My experience with KEL was nothing short of dissapointment and grief. Beware of their so called " advisors " who offer you the world to entice you to sign up the first time. Once you sign a contract with KEL your file will get shuffle with thousands of other files and treated with ineptitude and barely looked at. Prepare to be lied to, delay responses from customer service and finally your file to be rejected by the mortgage company because of nonresponse or action from KEL on the time assigned. I would not be surprised if many of the positive comments here are made up by people hired by KEL. Remember, it doesnt matter if you even talk to Mr. Englett to make your case move forward, he is just a TV diva who cares only about money and looking good on TV. I would definitely participate in any class action lawsuits coming against KEL.

Since I became a client of the KEL law firm I been dealing with Ms. Candice Mountz. I may had talk and see the actual lawyer maybe twice. Ms. Mountz is been a life saver. She is always ready to help and answer all my questions, does not matter if they are stupid questions or difficult ones. She is very professional and as I already said, always readily available. I usually email her around 6:00 in the morning or after 5:00pm. She answers me almost immediately and if she does not know the response to my concern, she let me know she will be back to me ASAP. Ms. Mountz is a great asset for KEL law firm. There are very few people you can count on doing their job (and the lawyer) without hesitation, and I believe Ms. Mountz is one of them. I want to thank Ms. Mountz for all the help she has given me and my husband and still does.

I would like to comment on my meeting with Shante Pressley and Jackie Tulloch ,the two lady,s were very informative and showed a true concern for my case .My Bankruptcy has been dragging out for the longest time it,s become a very stressful and trying time in my life before meeting the duo i was really considering looking into getting a new firm to handle my case because at times it felt as if your firm was more concerned about getting your harassment settlement " checks " and not helping me fix my life . The Dynamic Duo truly made me feel like a person and not a $$ign so Thanks a million for having people in place that could help me change my views about your firm in a very positive way .I would like to thank the two ladies for taking time out to personally go over my case face to face .

Horrible, horrible, horrible! Do not use this company not matter what situation you are in. That being said, Im still a client because i have already paid them for the year of representation and i will not renew my contract. I hired them for the purpose of foreclosure defense and to say the least, they are complete amatures. Their focus is to get you out of the house taking the path of least resistance. They do not have the skills to defend your case. You will be their target, not the opposing counsel. Instead of foreclosure defense, their goal is to find a way for you to settle whether its signing a deed in lieu, short sale, or consent to final summary judgment in which any of these outcomes you dont need a lawyer to accomplish.

I had a wonderful experience with KEL. I had a very long four years of fighting with the bank for my home and KEL made it simpler. My paralegal always got back to me that day, she took the time to answer my questions and fears. I was able to email her anytime and sometimes daily to ask questions or call about a fear and she was there to help me. When I was confused with paperwork she took the time to walk me through it. She made this process less painful and went out of her way to make sure my family and myself felt comfortable with all issues going on. Now that my case is over I know that I can call this firm for any future issues and I will be treated like family and taken care of. Thank you Y:)
