Wish I could a half star... Rented from them for about 3 years, When I first moved in my back room had a moldy smell and noticed water coming under the door, I called Lone Star after I saw this and the repaired it about a week later...IT WAS NOT FIXED...Either way the 3rd year came around and I noticed I was getting sicker by the days and eventually was hospitalized and the doctor found out I have a sever mold allergy, and gave me a cabinet full of medicine which cost me a fortune. I later discovered mold in my room, closet, and ac unit. ( the back yard would flood and look like a river and come up past the door in my bedroom which leaked through the wash machine area and bedroom and threw the foundation to the middle of the house where the ac unit was. I eventually started missing more work from my job and called Lone Star to see if I can get out the contract. They later sent out David to look at my house and he confirmed everything and they said I was free to go, it took me a month to find another place to move into by than I was fired from my job because I was deemed a safety risk due to the sickness and medicine that I was taking. WELLLLL After I moved out and the assured me they would not charge me anything! I get a bill in the mail for $5000+ 5 months later. Saying I owe them rent for the last 6 months "PLUS DAMAGES" Caused by the mold itself. Well I laughed and would never pay that. Next thing I know I get a call from my mother that they put the $5000+ on her credit history even though SHE WAS REMOVED FROM THE CONTACT the 2ND YEAR I WAS THERE! We will be seeking legal action to the fullest since I saved all photos of the mold and numerous inspectors notes about how it was unsafe to live in (BTW I am a single parent) so my daughter was exposed to this also. This company is a FRAUD! LYING! NO GOOD DOWN RIGHT EVIL! AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID WARRRRNNNNIIIINNNNGGG!!! AVOID

We rented with Lone Star over 3 and a half years. We never missed a payment and left the place in better condition than when we moved in. If you choose Lone Star, be prepared to fight or have to constantly call for most repairs, deal with poor/unethical customer service and be ready to forfeit part of your deposit money on move out, it will happen. Upon move out we hired a cleaning service (our neighbor with Lone Star cleaned her house very well and they still took some of her deposit ) because we wanted to leave them with no excuse to make us pay extra. We did everything required and they still took $300 from us. Want to know what it was? We left 1 curtain rod up and I put down hay on the side yard (It was 3 feet deep with leaf waste when we moved in...I cleaned it up and put hay/tried to plant grass and made a stone path). For this they took $300. They can do this because you really have no recourse....you can submit a written complaint but they know 99% of people will do nothing about it when they reject the written complaint. All of the above and they would have probably gotten 2 stars (poor service)...but this next story has them at 1 star (unethical). We wanted to have our carpet looked at (was very old) and Lone Star sent out a company to check it out. The company said they did not think we were responsible for the wear (normal wear and tear). They did say that if Lone Star was going to make us pay that we should be sure to contact the company directly because if we had Lone Star contract them it would be more expensive. This is because Lone Star jacks up the rate on the tenant and pockets the extra money for the work. I could not believe it...and this was coming from a company Lone Star employed. If you want to trust all of these 1 and 2 sentence, five star reviews then be my guest (sketchy). Having given you a fair warning my conscience is clear.

This is the worst property manager I have ever used. The are very rude, unprofessional and dont care about their tenants. I have rented with this company for 2 years and have never been late on my rent. My husband and I decided that we would look into renting a house instead of a duplex. So we turned in our 30 day notice and scheduled our move out inspection. They failed to inspect the property when they scheduled it because they did not have a key to the property. They still have yet to return my deposit of $700 and when I call them to check the status of my deposit I get the run around from not only the property inspector but the owner of the company. This is the worst property management company of them all. I have never seen a company that is so adiment to get their rent but are in no rush to return the money that is rightfully mine. If you are in the military like we are it is not worth it to go with this company. We had to put down a large deposit and now they will not give it back. The property was in perfect condition when we moved out and today when I spoke with the owner of the company he told me I might not even get a deposit back. I cannot say enough bad things about this company. If you have ever heard of the term "BAD FAITH" as far as rental terminology. Lone Star fits the ticket.

Lone Star property and Management (LSPM). Ever since the beginning of my relationship with the company and its staff, they have been nothing but professional and peace of mind. LSPM managed a rental property of mine, when out of town I could count on them to resolve any issue which may seem difficult. LSPM ensures that all actions are safe and environmentally sound, they also display a dedication to the highest standard of integrity, ethical standards and credibility. Linda Sito exemplifies and maintains great customers service and high degree of professional participation, she was always able to provide me with most accurate and up to date information, and resolve any issue which may seem difficult. Ms. Sito demonstrates strong ability to identify, analyze and resolve maintenance issues, she is always prompt and gives proper attentions to monitoring the status of high priority projects. I can truthfully say LSPM and its staff exert the highest level of experience in property management.

firstly in order to post on here u have to show who u are.....fishy. They prob look up names to dispute the claims. i rented from loan star years ago, horrible with working with tenants for unforseen issues and deposits. i have fees on my credit with are triple the money owed. 50.00 to replace a window blind?? wow. i had one already in the closet to replace. they were good for my move but not to helpful in other cases. need less to say ive been at another location in killeen for the past 4 years happily and a credit repair took the balance off my credit. brenda was pretty rude and often unbearable to speak with. If it wasnt about money. They dont particulary listen..Especially a co owner who has gone thru bankruptcy herself and had to relocate here to live with family until she got back on her feet. God puts u thru things to understand others better. Its understandably all business....but tisk tisk tisk. shame on u

Initial move in, we notified we would be moving in over the weekend after driving across country. They left the key in a drop box for us so we could access our rental. Never were informed, or provided, we must fill out a document before we move our property in. A hand written form, that is extensive. Why not photograph the home? And according to other reviews I anticipate our moveout to be a nightmare. We requested by email, phone message, and in person, information on if the owners would be interested in selling. We never received any word back. That was two months ago. Mean while we received over 6 email notifications the home would be inspected 3 days after Christmas. No matter when you move in, the inspections happen in June and December, and your rental will be checked then. We will be moving out soon, and will never do business with this Property Management Company again.

We moved into one of their rentals and it has been nothing but trouble. The realtor took us through the nice part of the neighborhood to get to the house. We did not realize we were in a high-crime area until we moved here and took the direct route. Contracted repairmen did not fix the problems. You can tell they used low-budget contractors. One of the items not fixed was the sliding glass door lock. This is a TEXAS state law requirement. We sent in 2 written work orders and countless phone calls over a period of 7 months. They never fixed it. When we moved out of our home, they made us pay a full rent abiding by our contract. We told them that they violated the contract with the lock. They expect us to follow the contract, but they are exempt? DO NOT USE them. There are plenty of better realtors in the area!!!!

What a horrible experience. I contracted two properties to be managed by this company. Repairs that were needed were always outrageously overpriced. Example, I was quoted $600 to replace a backflow prevention device on a sprinkler system through one of their plumbers. I contracted out myself and paid just below $200. I began to question whether I was in their interest, or if it was their fellow business owners. Any time I needed something from the office, it was difficult to get in contact with someone who would return my calls. To make things happen and get decent results, I had to physically appear in the office to have my complaints addressed. In hind sight, I only paid Lonestar to collect my rent money and renew the lease, I performed the actual "property management" on my own.

I highly recommend everyone stay away from this place. These people will rob you blind. You WILL NOT get your deposit back. We took care of the house we rented. No pets, no small children...just a military family. They come in all throughout your lease term to "inspect" the house, never allowing you to feel a sense of ownership. I placed a few work orders that never got worked on as well. Right before we moved we cleaned every corner of the house and left it in better condition then we found it. We were charged a reinspection fee along with over $450 of a depreciation fee along with several other things that make no sense. They will nickel and dime you to death. BEWARE....you have been warned. You will lose that deposit. Not to mention theyre rude and short with their customers.
