With an expertise exceeding his title, Jeff was by far the most knowledgeable and helpful person to have by my side through the process of buying my first home. As anyone who has purchased property before, the process can be grueling and stressful – especially if you’re a 22 year old first time buyer at the peak of an economic recession. Undoubtedly one of the biggest decisions I’ve yet had to make, Jeff kept my composure with his sound advice and honest confidence. I realized early in our business relationship that Jeff didn’t treat me as a customer; rather he treated me as a friend. Since I have found solace in seeking his business judgment on nearly every matter mortgage related including our most recent transaction in pursuit of a streamline refinance. Jeff took to the matter as he would have if for himself – with caution he ran the figures and assessed the profitable decision. Cutting my annual mortgage in the thousands of dollars without paying a dime out of pocket I credit him with the utmost respect for his savvy financial expertise and honest integrity.

Southern Oaks Mortgage is great. I have used Jeff for every mortgage and refinance since 2000. (Well, except for one - it was a disaster) That covers about 7 different loan transactions. I just finished up a loan with them this week. Their communication is fantastic through the whole process. And they find the best rate out there for you. Honestly, I have no idea how they do it all. Actually, I do: Cindy! She is always polite, informed and knows what levers need to be pulled to get everything done on time. I highly recommend Southern Oaks Mortgage for first time buyers (you will learn a lot) and for seasoned buyers who want someone to take care of it all for you. Oh, and did I mention Cindy...?

I used Southern Oaks Mortgage during a period when the lenders were absolutely swamped with applicants. Jeff and Cindy kept the process moving smoothly, and managed to finish the refinance on time. They are both extremely competent and capable people, and they really know their business. They are also very honest and transparent. The details are a bit too complicated to explain in this review, but Jeff insisted on giving me a refund of several hundred dollars that I was not owed. Even without the refund, the total cost of refinancing came out to be considerably cheaper than it would have had I gone with my original lender. I plan on using Southern Oaks Mortgage again, and I would highly recommend them.

He has a lot of lenders to choose from and worked hard, to get the best possible option and rate for us. During the process he made sure all of our questions were answered.
