Literally the worst customer service ever. I tried calling today and was on hold for well over an hour before I gave up. I have been with this company for almost 15 years and am seriously thinking of jumping ship. Wife bought a car in june 2016 and had to wait on hold for about 45 minutes before they bothered to pick up. I bought a car in October 2016. Waited on hold for wawanesa for almost an hour before my lunch hour was over and had to give up. Called the next day and had to wait almost 45 minutes before I was able to add the car. In may 2017 I sold my classic truck and picked up an old convertible. Once again an hour on hold with no pick up. The next day I tried the thing where you leave the number and get a call back. What a joke it took over 2 hours to get a call. The person told me they were experiencing unusual call volume. This was an all-out blatant lie!!!!! By definition when you are experiencing these wait times for a year straight you cannot call them unusual. I pointed this out to the CSR and she even admitted I was right. I told her that I am dropping the truck and adding a car that was getting shipped. She said they could not add the car unless I had it in my possession. Yup this is a lie too. read further... She then tries to upsell me on full coverage. The crooked thing was she did not bother to tell me they could only insure my 1966 GTO convertible for what it sold for new which is nothing compared to its value. glad I asked. We ended the call with her saying the policy would not start until I called to verify I had the car. I since got insurance for the old GTO through Hagerty which has good customer service by the way. tool Ike 10 minutes including wait time. A month later I received a bill that included both the truck I told them I sold plus the car that I never verified I even had. I tried calling these crooks to tell them again that I sold the truck and that they would not get to insure the classic car because they do not do that anyway. Waited on hold for an hour like I said above and finally had to feed my kids dinner so I put my number in for a call back, Well it has been almost 120 minutes since I first called and nothing. I shudder to think if I have to rely on Wawanesa for something important like an accident because they could not care less about their customers. Of course someone will reply to this message asking me to call customer service but I am sure that would mean another hour on hold. I could only recommend this company to someone who likes to sit on hold for hours only to get customer service agents that do not take care of you. Only to people that like insurance companies that charge you for cars that told them that you do not own.

Ive been with them for 5 years now. This "TRYING" to get a hold of someone is unacceptable! I use to brag about how I use to be able to talk to some one in less than 45 seconds! Now this past year, its been at least a half hour on the phone before I decide to have them call me back. Now I need them for an emergency, I can not get a hold of anyone. A person called me back 3 hours later and I wasnt near my phone. He left a number to call back but he left a message so quick and unclear I couldnt hear his ext. number. Now on the phone again 25 mins later and they close in 5 mins. Looks like I am going to pay more for insurance. It should not be, you get get what you pay for because they use to be a 5 star. I heard they might even be going out of business.

OMG, I have used them for years and used to be able to talk to a live person to ask questions or make changes to a policy. And now I cannot even get a live person on the phone after holding for 30 minutes. I even call right when they open at 7:30 am Mon-Fri and the voice message says they are closed! I wanted to make changes to my Home policy but I cannot get a hold of anyone!! When I finally push the phone number to the the location of where my call needs to be directed, I am on hold FOREVER. Therefore, I am going with another company. Worst customer service...actually, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. What a shame!! They used to be good.

NOT ABLE TO TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE --- THREE DAYS AND STILL WAITING !!!!! I have been with Wawanesa over 15 years with few problems in the past. I have 4 cars insured with them and just bought a new car and called to add it before I drove home. Called -- on hold 1 1/2 hr. I left a message with car year and VIN. and picked up the car. I have called many times in the last THREE days. As usual put on hold and select option that will call you back in order of your call. Not able to talk to a customer Service Rep yet. I will be moving on. but I am sure I will not be able to talk to anybody to cancel my insurance.

I have had Wawanesa for 14+ years. I am shocked to see negative reviews. Yes, sometimes hold times can be outta control, but it is a small inconvenience to deal with to me. My husband and I have 4 young adults under the age of 25yrs old on our policy, not 1 company can beat Wawanesa especially with a small deductible. I see us continuing with Wawanesa for the long haul. I think some of the dissatisfaction I am reading is probably because people are starting to get wind of Wawanesa. They are making changes, but you cant expect them to happen overnight. I am a fan for life. Thanks for all you do Wawanesa!

The customer service wait time is beyond ridicules they are good at taking your money and raising the rates 30% even with no changes to your policy after 6 years. "Rate increase". Cant get ahold of anyone at all on the phone wait for over 30 to 45 minutes. Then after sent and email and switched they sent me a bill for $433 saying I was delinquent and my policy had lapsed. No one at all to talk to over at Wawnesa so filled claim with the State and BBB. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR STAY AWAY READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. HOPE YOU ARE READING MY WAWNESA!!

Every time I call I have never been able to get through. I have waited on hold for over 25 minutes, and I have called 3 separate times. The only reason I have this insurance company is because I had them many years ago, when the service was better. I will NOT be staying with Wawanesa any longer. Update: Tried to call them to cancel, without ever talking to anyone, I called at 3:30 pm and waited on hold until 5:30pm and was never able to talk with anyone because the call was dropped. I am canceling this insurance if I ever get through.

My daughter was in a car accident with one of there customers back in May. There customer was at fault my daughter and her insurance have submitted proper documentation and till this present day they have not reached out to her to fix her car. She has called and left messages, and nothing. When they respond they ask her for the same information. This insurance is not one you would want to have to cover your vehicle. Poor customer service, and bad a responding to pay for damages. Sent pictures and written statement and nothing.

Ive been with Wawanesa over 6 years for both my car and home. I just got my renewal in the mail for my car and the policy changed from annually to every six months, no big deal, but my premium went from $480.76 annually to $302.55 every six months. I have no accidents no claims, nothing at all. This is for limited liability and I waited on the phone for an hour to speak to someone. The customer service rep was nice, but he is going to have a bad month with all the upset costumers.

Had to update my annual mileage so tried to do that online and was not successful. It said they had trouble updating the info so please call. I did that waited 20 minutes to talk to someone nothing. Gave me the option that they would call me. and nothing no call from them. I called today was on hold for 15 minutes and gave me the option that they would call me. Not again, no way so I will mail it in. Been a customer for many years customer service way better then, then it is now.

I have been a Wawanesa customer for over 20 years. Just got my new auto insurance policy that went from a $640 annual cost in 2016 to a $460 6-month cost for 2017 - a 45% increase. I have had no claims in the past 10 years. The agent I spoke to was apologetic and said she understood why I would go shopping for auto insurance elsewhere. Follow up call with current odometer reading and assumed annual mileage did bring the 6-month cost down to $375, now about an 18% increase.

Customer service is bad. The lady has never inform me that there is fee when pay with debit card. She didnt tell me the total amount which include the $10 fee. I noticed only when i check the receipt. I asked and she said she did told me, but she didnt for sure because I would just pay with cash. Not recommend people to come here. I have bad experience with this place twice. I will just pay online next time or go to different company

I was a member for over 14 years and business took me out of state for a year. Since Wawanesa has no coverage in that state, I was forced to find another carrier. Now, being back in CA, I find out that my tenure is voided and my policy is more than double what it would have been. They claim it is because they have "restructured over the last year and rates have increased." Geico quoted the same coverage for 30% less.

I have been trying to get hold of them for a week now!!! Today I have decided to devote my time and still nothing. Been on hold 3x today for over 40 minutes...and then get transferred once I get a live person. THEN back on hold!!! H O R R I B L E!!! Their excuse, that is why we are so cheep. What a cop out. I only gave it two stars because of their price but some things are worth paying for. Time to shop around

Used to be insured by Wawanesa, but due to poor customer service we quit insuring with them long ago. Now we have to take a Wawanesa insured driver to court where despite clear liability they are refusing to pay their own adjusters estimate for some convoluted reasons. I don’t want to trial this case in here but my advice to you is to stay away from Wawanesa since you could be the next one going to court.

Unrealiable service through their EZpay system. Through their "forgot password" link, if you type your userid then policy account number or email, the combinations DO NOT work! The only process to correct it is by calling their service rep. The resetted password entry always seems to work for that day ONLY and I have been having the same problem for years now. Change that goddamn payment service!!!

No live body on the other side of the line. I call the customer service 3 times. The first and second time i waited 30 mins then hung up. The third time i waited 90 mins so far and still waiting. I want to add a vehicle but there is no such option on their web site. You can only add vehicles. I have been with the company for 20 years but i will look else where now.

Big mistake calling this place. My wife had accident 1 time and it was not her fault but they reported, and we had rude underwriter on our case and also he reported that case on both driving record and any insurance company I tried to call they brought that up and asked me to have Waeanesa to send letter saying it was error. but they never help me to fix it.
