I write this review hoping I can save anyone reading this money and time by not giving these people another cent. Please if you want auto insurance I am begging you to go somewhere else and never give this place your business. This is my long and difficult story with Autocoast/Intercoast Insurance. I have had a policy through Autocoast/Intercoast for the last 2 years. In that time, I have gone from one to three cars on my policy and now more recently back to one vehicle. I have never met a more disingenuous group of individuals in my life. First of all, if you are ever to call the phone number listed for their office expect never to receive a call back when they state, "Is it alright if I call you back in 10-15 minutes?". If I ever had a serious issue that I needed information I would have to physically take time to drive to the office to confront them about the issue because they would never call you back even after telling you multiple times on the phone they will call back. You could call them every 15 minutes and they would still state they have to give you a call back. Second, I cannot state more accurately that these people have no intention on helping you with your policy. They are only concerned with the commission they make off securing a policy for you. Example 1: More recently I looked to remove a family member off my policy. I went inside their office to remove the family member and I was told my request went through and I would see it take effect next month. The request never went through. Why? It is because they failed to mention that because the individual is under the age of 21, the individual cannot be removed until they are of age. How did I find this out? It was definitely not through Intercoast as I received this information from the actual company I hold the insurance policy with only after I called frustrated thinking they were at fault for not following up on my request. This means they falsely claimed they made a request that was not possible to take place with the actual insurance company. I do not understand how they can lie to people like this and led me to believe they were carrying out the action I requested. Example 2: I look to cancel my policy with Intercoast completely because I am have not been in the state and I do not want to pay another month for an insurance policy on a car I am not driving. I call in to their office and do not let the individual get off the phone until they take action on my request to cancel my policy by first stating "I am calling to get information on my policy." I give the individual my policy number and state that effective immediately I want to cancel my policy. This takes him by surprise. He starts typing something over the phone and I hear him whisper worriedly to a coworker, "This person wants to cancel their policy." A few clicks on the keyboard and he then states "Okay I have put in the request to cancel your policy, anything else I can help you with?". I ask, "I want to confirm I will not be charged for next months payment because I have cancelled 14 days before the payment due date, is this correct?" He replies, "That is correct." I then request for him to send me a confirmation e-mail to make certain he put through my request and I can sense already through the phone by his tone this worried him. I then state my e-mail address and he then says I will be receiving the e-mail shortly. We end the call. I never received an e-mail from Intercoast. Why? It is because he could not actually cancel my policy without my signature in writing. But did he inform me of this? No, because he was purposefully lying to me to get me off the phone and pretending to take my request. Again, I found out by calling the insurance company I have the policy under and them stating that the information Intercoast gave me was false and that they had lied to me.
