I had bought a ’07 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder on New Year’s Day of 2010 from Austin Burns, The family car at the time was a ’04 Saturn Ion and I had planned on trading it in once the Eclipse was paid for… sadly the Ion was proving unreliable so I walked into the same dealership to find Austin Burns and have him find the vehicle my wife wanted as our new family car. I felt sort of bad for Austin because I was not wholly into the experience as this would mean trading in my Eclipse and my wife did not know what she wanted other than a set of options and more room than the Ion and the Eclipse combined. Austin spent the better part of a day taking us to the lots close by and showed us Mini-vans and SUVs of every make and model, and after test-driving 4 different vehicles my wife settled on the 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander GT. I had to get to work so Austin got out paper work going with financing and after they said things looked good he put a plate on the Outlander and told us to take it home and see what we thought about it. The Outlander GT was amazing but going from a 4 cylinder Eclipse to a V6 Outlander I was concerned about the cost of gas… and as petty as this may sound my Eclipse had heated seats which I love in the winter but the Outlander did not have this option. I called Austin from work to make sure financing was progressing well and told him my concerns along with commenting about the dull grey paint job on the Outlander, Austin listened and told me we had many other options and when we pulled into the dealership the following day Austin had a blue Outlander Sport which comes with a much more fuel efficient 4 cylinder engine and heated seats. My wife and I test-drove this new Outlander and fell in love with it, Austin took 2 people who had no idea what they were looking for and one person who was not completely willing to trade in his sporty convertible and somehow found the perfect vehicle for our family. This is the second car I have bought from Austin Burns and I will make sure to call him when I am ready for another. The rest of the Skillman staff was wonderful and the whole experience was great, now if only they tossed in a box of those cookies they have with every purchase.

Aside from having a really awesome sales guy, I wasn’t the happiest with my experience with Ray Skillman all together. I had gotten to the dealership at 615 after being there for two hours the night before and sat there until 9pm. I was thankful they let me drive it home the first night, but it was also dark and I couldn’t really check it out. So I had to drive it back the next day after work, still not really able to give it a complete look around. During the three hours I was there the second time, a lady was upset and cussing in the lobby which seemed to be everyone’s top priority, while I just sat there. Again, it was dark and I still hadn’t had a chance to fully look over the car. Well, I FINALLY saw someone at 9:15 to be told that I needed a decent sized down payment, which was never relayed to me prior and it was already late and I didn’t really have an option to get home. While I was trying to get it all figured out, there was three people in the adjoining office yelling which was even more unprofessional. During this mess, the finance guy said he would “try to figure something out with the down payment”, left the room and came back and didn’t say anything aside from asking if I had the money. Thankfully I was able to get it together, signed the paperwork just to get it over with. He verified that all I needed was to give an address to pick up my trade in, and I was done. Went out to the car to leave and the car was practicically empty, which I was then responsible to fill up the tank. Now I’m getting phone calls that I need to make ANOTHER trip to bring the title down there (which again, I asked if I needed anything else regarding the trade and was told no). Upon finally seeing the car completely during the day, there is a hole in the bumper and a few scratches. Which I’m sure won’t get taken care of except on my dime again. I’m not saying it was a complete rip off, but I’m definitely not happy with the professionalism of the Avon store aside from Mark.

I live on the south side of Indy. I visited Ray Skillman Westside Auto Mall after doing a weeks worth of research. They had a vehicle I wanted to look at. I was greeted by George, who treated me like a customer and not a sale. He made sure he addressed me by name and even included my mother in the conversation. Unfortunately, the vehicle I wanted was not available but George pointed me in the direction of the same make and model, a year older than what I wanted but with less mileage than my original "want". He pointed out all the benefits of this vehicle. Between George and Jake, I was able to drive off the lot with a vehicle that in two days, I am TOTALLY in love with because it drives wonderfully and I can cart my family around. While we waited, George let us sit in a reception area instead of at his desk. I observed other employees walking through the building and if they saw me looking at them, they acknowledged me. Most places see that you have been taken care of already and treat you as part of the furniture. Everyone at least grinned and seemed to like their job. George (and Jake) will never know how happy they made me, but I will and have definitely let my friends and family know that they definitely need to go to RSWAM if they are in need of a vehicle. RSWAM has a repeat customer in me! PS The snickerdoodles were great too!

My wife and I just moved to Indy in October and planned to purchase a new AWD SUV after settling in. After narrowing down our choices, we went to Ray Skillman West Auto Mall to look at a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe and test drive it. We were met by Michael Weil (sales rep). I was impressed with the sales approach used by Mike - it was more consulting than selling, understanding our needs and pointing out pros and cons of various cars we discussed. He came across very unbiased and no pressure. My wife and I really appreciated this approach including the amount of time Mike spent with us. Negotiations were very straightforward, no haggling and no dealing. Their finance guy was also very straightforward. He offered several additional items such as extended warranties, but did not put the pressure on - it was really refreshing. We have purchased many new cars over the years, and with this Hyundai dealership, there is a definite shift from the stereo-typed new car dealership of the past. The followup from Mike to ensure we were happy with our purchase (we are) and his continued availability to us if we have questions or need additional help, has been outstanding. We are happy with the car, would buy another Hyundai based on our experience so far, and would definitely return to this dealership. Our experience far surpassed our expectations.

Zoom, Zoom The Mazda dealership was welcoming (nice to have video games for kids and cookies and beverages). Our salesperson, Hayden Cook, was very friendly, respectful, and not pushy. He made us feel comfortable and provided a lot of information. My wife and I had narrowed our shopping down to a Ford Escape, Toyota Rav4, and a Mazda CX 5. We had done our research as far as features, cost, safety, recalls and customer complaints and reviews. Vince looked into the TSBs and addressed them while the other dealerships we visited sort of dropped and ignored that request. The decision to go with the CX 5 was made due to: the willingness to work with us on the price, the safety features of the vehicle, the technology of the vehicle, the MPG, the style & color (Soul Red) and the friendliness of the staff. After closing the deal the whole team worked very hard to insure they had met all of our needs. We received a tour so we would be familiar with the service area. The finance manager, Chris, gave us good tips in light of the interest % being less that our mortgage interest %. Hayden helped us sync up our phones to Bluetooth. We bought our new 2014 Mazda CX 5 Touring and we are glad we did. Our special needs adult daughter after riding in it one time said that she loved the vehicle. We have received many positive comments on its looks.

I purchased my very first car at Ray Skillman West Auto Mall and it was a very smooth and comfortable experience. My sales representative Ernie Reno and sales manager David Gurdian as well as other sales managers and representatives had assisted me very well and gave me a very good experience purchasing the car. Especially, Ernie Reno helped me so much while purchasing the car! He is a “very nice” and “gentle” sales representative! I could purchase my car without any pressure and even though I was taking too much time on choosing the car, Ernie Reno was very patient with me and gave me enough time to make a decision. He provided me helpful information and advice about the car. :-) I am very satisfied and happy with the car and the deal that he had provided me!! I am driving everyday to work happily! My partner and I were looking to purchase a new vehicle and our research (and recent trip to the Auto Show) pointed us in the direction of the Kia Optima. I learned from Google reviews that Ray Skillman Westside Automall – and in particular Andy Gregoire -- was the place and person to see. The reviews were spot on!! Andy was incredibly professional, yet down to earth. His sensitivity to us as customers was superb. For example, each car was pulled up to the front for us to test drive, which we appreciated tremendously, especially on a wintery Saturday afternoon. He really listened to our needs and showed us the car that fit us perfectly. Andy never once tried to sell us something we didn’t want. We finally narrowed our choice to the Optima EX Turbo, but none were present on their lot for us to drive. He contacted another dealership and had one driven to us later in the afternoon. That’s what I call “service excellence.” We made the decision that evening to purchase a Kia Optima EX Turbo. Thank you Andy & Avery for making this a great car buying experience!!

My husband and I went in looking for a used car and we were greeted right away by Jimmy. He asked what we were looking for and though it wasnt on the Kia lot he drove us down to the Mitsubishi lot where the car we wanted should have been. Turns out the car had been sold but he asked if we would be interested in a new car for the same price as the used one. As we had owned Mitsubishi cars before we said we would be glad to take a test drive. There was no high pressure no ignoring me and talking only to my husband as this was my car and Nate one of the other gentlemen answered all the questions I had about the car. I have recommened Jimmy and Nate as well as Eric in the finance department to many of my women friends as this is one of the few car dealerships that didnt treat me as a "second" class citizen. I cannot thank them enough and I really like my new car! We will be buying our next car from Ray Skillman with Jimmy and Nate paving the way for us!

I purchased a car in October and brought it to get its normal service check-up. Everyone who works there is extremely welcoming and there to answer any questions. They also keep you in the loop and explain what they are doing for you throughout the process. They also are willing to go out of their way to try and accomidate for you. I had an issue with trying to get there to see someone who is normally not there when I would be available to come in. They emailed me directly and assured me that they could get someone to take care of it for me when I was available. This is a great place and I am glad I chose to purchase from Ray Skillman WAM (Hyundai). Also, If I ever have a question I feel comfort in the fact that they always have someone available to try and solve my problem or question. Nate Olson is also great! He checks in to make ure everything is going well and also is the person I go to to schedule anything. The whole place takes great care of you.
