THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER DEALT WITH. THEY WERE NOT PROFESSIONAL AND THEIR PROCESS WAS DIFFICULT. I PURPOSELY GOT THIS INSURANCE FOR MY FATHERS TICKET , WHOM I WAS FLYING DOWN ON UNITED AIRLINES #UNITEDAIRLINES TO PICK HIM UP AND MOVE HIM TO NJ, HE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL AN WE WERE CONCERNED WHETHER OR NOT HE WOULD BE RELEASED TO FLY UP. WELL HE DIED, SO HE DID NOT NEED THE TICKET. KNOWING I HAD INSURANCE I FIGURED I NOTIFY THAT FILL OUT SOME FORMS AND GET A REIMBURSEMENT.. i HAD THE DOCTOR FILL OUT AND SIGN AND STAMP FORM, AND THEY GAVE ME AN UNREASONABLY HARD TIME. IT TOOK WEEKS FOR THEM AND ME CALLING AND FIGHTING TO GET THEM TO OK THE REFUND, THEN i WAITED OVER 20 DAYS AND NEVER RECEIVED A CHECK, THEY CLAIM THEY MAILED IT, NOW I HAVE TO GO THROUGH MORE TO GET THEM TO REISSUE CHECK, THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE ITS A WASTE OF MONEY AN TIME. I purchased a trip insurance for my trip to Fort Lauderdale (both for my flight and my hotel, both of which were prepaid and non-refundable). On the day of the trip I got food poisoning which obviously made it impossible to travel. I immediately went to my nearest urgent care clinic, where I obtained a letter stating that I was unable to travel and complete my trip. I submitted two claims online (one for the flight, another for the hotel, since they were purchased separately), and a couple of days later called to inquire as to status. I was told that I needed to have the urgent care clinic complete a specific form that Allianz requires in the case of trip cancellation. I faxed the form over to the clinic, got it back and uploaded the completed form to the online portal. I called again to make sure they had everything and was told that everything they needed was on file and that my case would be resolved within 10 business days. 10 business days to the day later I had both claims paid in full, with the money deposited in my checking account within one business day. Very glad and fortunate to have purchased this insurance, but I do wish that the company would be more proactive and specific in its communications back to clients as to whether more documentation is needed, instead of making the customers call and sometimes get contradictory information from different reps. Even so, it was generally easy and frustration-free experience, plus worth the money!

We have purchased travel insurance with several different companies in the past. Allianz Global is the only one we will ever use in the future. It all started when i tried to check in with our airline online and found out our outbound flight was delayed. This would of caused us to miss a connecting flight and possibly miss 2 days of a very needed vacation. With no answer from the airline on when they could get us to our destination, we quickly searched for another flight and were fortunate to find one, at an extra cost of course. I contacted the original airline and negotiated a partial refund of the original outbound flight. When we returned from our trip, I contacted Allianz Global and they suggested i submit a claim with all relevant documentation and they would review our particular situation. Approximately 1 week had passed when i received an email from Allianz Global, informing me that our claim had been approved for the difference. in the cost of the new outbound flight. The money arrived about 1 week after that. There staff was very helpful throughout the entire process. I can not say enough about how smooth of a process this was. Allianz Global delivered exactly what we expected with no hassle or delay. Thank you Allianz Global, you have a new life long customer. .

This is my first time to purchase travel insurance, and I decided to purchase it due to the fact my husband and I were going on a 10 day trip out of the country and knowing that our medical insurance would not cover us if anything were to happen, I thought it would be a good idea. Another factor that convinced me to purchase the insurance was that the price was so incredibly low! It only cost us $130 for both of us. Well, nothing medically happened, but we did get stranded in Barbados because of hurricane Irma. So, our 10 day vacation turned into an extra five days that we did not budget for, and we were unable to use our flights due to the terminals in Miami being damaged, so we also had to purchase new return tickets through a different airline. So, when we returned home I made copies of all the Receipts of the extra hotel nights, the new airline tickets, the rental car, and all food and drink expenses that we had incurred and filed a claim.I honestly had no idea if it would be covered or not, but to my surprise within three weeks I received a direct deposit into my bank account of every expense I submitted. This was an awesome experience with alliance global assistance and I will always use their services in the future and recommend them to everybody and anybody!

On March 26 I purchased tickets for my husband and myself to fly to Amsterdam in preparation for two back-to-back cruises. In all of our travels I have never purchased flight/travel insurance. For some reason, this time I made the purchase. On April 20 my husband was diagnosed with cancer and within 2 weeks was undergoing chemotherapy. We had to cancel this trip of a lifetime. How grateful I am to have purchased the insurance with Allianz. They made the filing process very clear. As a a result I submitted all required documentation with the initial filing. I was not asked for further documentation of any kind. Allianz processed within their quoted time frame and I received back every penny of my flight costs through a direct deposit to my bank account ...which meant no waiting for the check to arrive after approval. In fact I received email notification that my claim had been approved AND funds in my account simultaneously. It has been a rough couple of months. Allianz was a bright spot with their no hassle, no questions asked, speedy process and full refund. I will absolutely, ALWAYS purchase flight/travel insurance in the future, if we are lucky enough to travel again. And the company I will look for is Allianz.

Allianz Global..if you want to get rolled over by a Flight Insurance company, deal with these folks. Cancer treatment for me and my wife slipped and fell in a parking lot and fractured her shoulder and part of her Humerus. Both of our doctors said were not to fly as we both were in treatment. We purchased insurance for a $721.00 flight costs. When I asked about filing a claim, Allianz told us there we’re not going to honor the claim because it was purchased under pre-existing health conditions. With all the insurance companies (Obama Care) I thought insurance companies were supposed to honor pre-existing conditions. Allianz told me they did not have to. It sounds like discrimination to me. Stay away from Allianz for flight cost insurance. They don’t honor anything. I selected them this year as a claim I had to file a year ago turned out just fine. Stay away form them. There are more companies out there to chose from. An agent called and asked I I did not read the information they sent about pre-existing conditions. When I paid for the policy and after they accepted my money, they sent me me nothing about pre-existing conditions. That information came in a separate email. But--they had my money.

Just wanted to say that my interaction with Allianz Global could not have been any better !!! While on a road trip my vehicle became disabled due to hot tar on the highway which burnt my engine wiring harness. I Had Geico with every type of coverage that I could get, with only a 100.00 deductible Lets just say they sucked!! left us stranded for over 3 weeks and could care less about my family. To my Great surprise I had AAA which through there Premium coverage offered Trip Interruption at no extra charge. this coverage covered us for up to 1500 in hotels, meals, etc. they had us a check in our hand with in 7 days of faxing proof of our bills. Not only that Both AAA and .Allianz Global Assistance USA checked on our personal welfare at least once a day. Just to make sure we had a safe place to stay etc. If you travel any where.. You should not even hesitate to get this coverage! such a low cost compared to the customer support you get and the piece of mind you get. Very friendly and offered help outside there responsibility. This is the only way I can Just say thank you to Allianz Global Assistance USA. Outstanding company!!! Thank You Both AAA and Allianz Global Assistance USA.

We had a trip planned to the Virgin Islands in October. We purchased our airfare from Delta in March and they offered insurance through Allianz. I purchased the insurance thinking I would never use it as I have done so many times in the past with trip insurance. As we all know, the Virgin Islands were pretty much destroyed in September. Not by one, but two major hurricanes. I knew after Irma that we would not be going. Our resort was heavily damaged and almost all the businesses and infrastructure was heavily damaged or destroyed. I filed a claim with Allianz within a few days after Hurricane Irma. The process was very easy and I did it online. I only had one occasion to call and talk to a customer service rep and he was extremely nice and professional. He was a joy to talk to. They paid my claim in about 3 weeks which was extremely fast, in my opinion, considering the number of claims they must have had to deal with. I highly recommend Allianz and look forward to using their service again. Although I hope I never have to collect on trip insurance again, it is a good feeling knowing there are companies like Allianz selling it.

Last year, we purchased trip insurance for a trip to Montana. Unfortunately, just a day before our trip, I developed an acute case of vertigo making travel, specifically flying, impossible. We had purchased our airline tickets many months before and had a lot of questions about our options to postpone or cancel the trip. We called Allianz and they could not have been more helpful. They carefully explained our options and we elected to postpone the trip. Unfortunately, because of the nature of out trip, we were not able to reschedule until 12 months later, and when we called the airline, they indicated that the tickets would be out of date. We again called Allianz and they once again explained the process to file a claim. We did so using their website and when we had a couple of questions about additional forms for us to submit, they said we had already filed sufficient documentation and subsequently we received a timely refund of our entire ticket purchase. We were very pleased with our experience with Allianz and recommend them to anyone seeking travel insurance.

I always purchase a travel insurance whenever I travel international, but have never claim an insurance until my recent trip to India. I developed high fever just 2 days before my return trip and had to be hospitalized for 2-3 days till my medical tests results come back from the labs. I had to postpone my trip and the new ticket price was super high due to the peak vacation travelling season. When I came back to US, I called in the insurance customer care and they walked me through the claim process. The claim process is very simple -- Your medical emergency should match what the trip interruption covers, fill the online form, submit a verification letter from your physician and new travel ticket expense you plan to claim. It took a week to get my physicians letter and just an hour to fill the online claim form. In 8-10 business days I received an email stating that my claim was processed and I received the check in 3-4 days. A lot of people talk very negative about travel insurance claims but if you submit the right documents I am sure you will get your refund.
