Filing bankruptcy never even entered our mind when we started realizing that we could no longer keep up on our bills. It was a decision we were not proud of, but ran out of any other option. We narrowed the list of law firms down to a handful, then based our pick on all of the reviews we found. Geraci law firm was the only one who had such a high rating with the BBB, and almost nothing but great reviews from people like me. Now we know why. When we walked in for our free one hour consultation, we were embarrassed to say the least. This kind of thing only happens to other people, not us. Immediately they made us feel very comfortable, and the feeling of being ashamed went away. They fully went over all of our options, and explained that chapter 7 was our only way to go, considering our current circumstances. They set up an affordable payment plan for us, as we were unable to pay the amount for theirs services in full at this time. We had a second appointment a few days later with a different attorney to finalize our paperwork. They made us feel very at ease, and a lot more comfortable with our decision. Never once did they make us feel like this was a shameful and degrading situation. Our paperwork should be filed with the courts very soon, then we just have to wait and see. We are hoping the outcome will be favorable to us, and lift this black cloud over our head. We want to give a special thank you to Brent Berning & Alex George from the Wauwatosa office. Geraci Law LLC is an excellent firm regarding bankruptcy. They use a team approach to satisfy the needs of their clients. Whenever I needed a lawyer in the past I dealt with just one attorney. The prospect of bankruptcy is stressful, apprehensive, uncertain, and downright frightful. Interfacing with a different lawyer every time I contacted the firm amplified the stress. This concern was unjustified. All of the Geraci lawyers are experienced professionals who are experts in bankruptcy law. Additionally their records are so precise that it doesn’t matter who advises the client. They know where an individual is situated in the process and are able to direct the client accordingly. By the time I had to face my hearing, I was glad I had a Geraci attorney at my side. I was prepared and confident. The proceeding was successful and everything from beginning to end transpired exactly as the Geraci lawyers said it would. The bankruptcy process it too complicated to trust to any firm but the best. The relief of mom being able to file Chapter 7 was immeasurable. My only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the change in policy from the first visit in January until the end of March when mom was able to file, was a change in the amount needed to file from $1000 to $1500.
