My A/C went out on Wednesday, so I called Alco Air that night to get a quote on how much it would be for a Technician to come to my home. Being able to call at 9PM was the ONLY good thing about my experience. They answered my call and I was told it would be $85 for a service call, and they would wave the fee if they did any work on my AC unit. Well, when the techs arrived on Thursday afternoon they spent an HOUR “looking” at my inside unit and using a machine that beeped the whole time. After an hour they came to me and said the blower motor needed to be replaced (it was just replaced last year, and had blow hot air all night) and the unit needed to be cleaned and it would cost $970!!!! This estimate didn’t include them wanting to clean the A-frame coils, only the bottom portion of my unit. I politely declined and paid the $85. There was no ticket given with a formal estimate of what needed to be done, or what they had actually done to show the things that needed to be replaced. Fast forward to Saturday morning I decided to get a second opinion, after my dad looked at the unit and said the Alco guys were full of it. I called another company that I had used previously and they came out within a few hours. When the other company arrived he actually got on my floor (unlike the Alco techs that just stood in front of the unit) and within 15 minutes he found out that the WHOLE problem was two relays that had blown and caused my heat to be stuck “on”!!!!!! I will NEVER recommend Alco Air to anyone ever!!!! I honestly believe they saw a young looking woman and attempted to take advantage because they didn’t want to work on the unit. They basically wanted me to just pay to replace it.

Very professional and honest company. The techs were clean and courteous. They did a great job installing the new (heavy) unit in the attic. Everything was neat and well done, with no mess left behind. We have used Alco in the past and will do so again if the need arises. We will happily recommend them to anyone who asks.

Excellent service and very quick! I called on a Friday night at 7:00 and by 9:30 I had A/C. Ryan was very nice and even changed out my air filter on his way out!
