I really like this insurance company so far. I have been with them for two years now and plan to stay with them. Customer service is accommodating. Whenever I call I am able to speak with a live person and most of the time my issues are resolved. I was with United Healthcare and BCBS previously to switching to this company and this company is sizing up well. Let me say that no insurance company is really phenomenal with customer service. I used to wait hours for United to answer the phone and the customer service reps were all outsourced. At least this company does not outsource, you can hear them well, and you can actually understand what they are saying. They also offer the first two years free coverage for both my newborns. And free annual physical exams, CBC and all for my husband and I. Not too shabby I must say. My plan has a zero deductible so my coverage has been great as far as other doctor visits and delivery. On the flip side, premiums in the market place seem to be increasing every year, so I am worried about how high my premium will go in the following years. I do not qualify for tax credits so I am at the short end of the Obamacare stick. His motto of rewarding those who do not make a lot of money is fine, but it is all relative and even those who make a little more still struggle and need help.

Where do I start? I have the ERS (Texas Employ) Kelsey Care network plan of CHC. I know managed care and how health maintenance organization should work. Kelsey Care CHC service employees do not know the plan (contract). Try making a call from the literature they send and your will be transferred four to five times and use 40 minutes of wasted time. My daughter received a denial for urgent f/u care post ER visit for a clavicular fracture. Kelsey network could not provide the 24hr f/u recommeded by the ER provider so we visited a Texas childrens ped ortho provider the next day (within 24hr f/u) and close to home (13 miles) and the service was denied (not a benefit). Send appeal to appeals coord of CHC address suite 900 from the CHC denial letter packed of information. One week later a call from member services gave a detailed verbal accounting of services and lack of which was articulated clearly over the phone. Receive mail from CHC customer service suite 700 as a f/u call instructing me how I can appeal? What? Does the left hand know what the right hand is doing? NO! This an organizational leadership problem. My next call with be to the Texas Insurance commission followed by a detailed letter and then I will make a call to my attorney who specializes in these legal matters.

Community Health Choice is a good option for people looking for an affordable insurance coverage. Many of the negative reviews here could also be said for many insurance companies, customer service can have its issues but I have received excellent service and I could say many of the reps and management I have received assistance with have went above and beyond to help me resolve the many questions I have asked them, bravo. I would like to give a special shout out to Pam and Sandra, thank you for everything. The only reason I did not give Community Heath Choice five stars is because at the moment I have coverage joint with Kelsey Seybold, Kelsey Care and looking forward to when I can choose another Community plan. I would recommend those looking at this joint service, there are many issues with Kelsey Seybold that can bite. Overall I do recommend Community Health Choice but on its own not paired with Kelsey Care.

too bad that reviewers are not allowed a zero-star option. This company deserves a zero. Community sent me a bill for a policy that I did not want and for which I did not apply. The government, it appears, applied on my behalf when my previous insurer left the Texas market. I called the marketplace and told them that I did not want the Community policy. Now, Community inundates me with collection calls. I phoned Community and tried to navigate through their menu that does not provide an option for dealing with these matters. Finally, I spoke to a pleasant but unknowledgeable person who kept me on the phone for more than 30 minutes. This morning, the automated calls resumed. If you want coverage in a very limited area near Houston, buy insurance directly from Memorial Hermann. It will cost a little more, but you deal with professionals.

We had coverage for our family of 4 with community last year through Obamacare and beginning this year they doubled up the premium. I cancelled it Jan 1st. They did not cancel it. I kept calling and they said that the Healthcare.gov had to contact them to cancel. My wife was on a three way call and they said they will refund the 3 months they took to cancel. They never sent the money and then they sent a letter saying that the coverage was good for the 3 months and no refund would be issued. I am going to lay a complaint with BBB. Their customer service is the worst ever. One CSR said it will be refunded and the next one would say he found no information on the claim and would have to start the process all over again. Please avoid this third world country provider.

They make and publish events for members, send them messages and events on the same day when space is never want to register. This happens for 3 years and never have fit !!!! Is a. Big lie .... Never fit or even 20 minutes after receiving the message then to send the invitation message. And corruption among farce .....

My children have had CHC for several years. I have not had any issues within the years of having coverage through them. My son recently had surgery and was in the hospital, 3 days. I paid only the co-pay and CHC covered the remaining of the bill with no problem. For pregnancy coverage, i have not experienced issues either. Finding a provider who accepts this insurance, is not difficult to find, as almost all providers who accept Medicaid/Chip accepts this company. When i have needed to contact them by phone, a representative is always available and are helpful and will answer in a timely manner. They offer tickets to many events, which is great for the family to enjoy!

They are penny pinching! I pay my premiums and out of nowhere right after the hurricane they jacked my copay up from 35 to 76 dollars without notifying me. Now I will have to withdraw off of medication I depend on to not be sick. If the issue is not resolved I will file legal action. Your customer assistance line is nothing but a robot, purposely designed to make it as difficult and slow as possible to get a human assistance as possible. Your website also makes payment online impossible until it overdue and you just only owe more. This is my personal experience. If you fix my CO PAY back to $25 ASAP I will delete this.

Worst company to deal with. They deleted my account without informing and then kept charging me for the next two months. After that I obviously found out that I had no insurance I asked to not put me into another contract with them. It has been 3 months and I have still not gotten my refund for the money they stole . I have been calling and they keep giving me the same stupid excuse that their finance dept is gong through a change and have not sent out my check . this is ridiculous. I strongly advise not dealing with this company. They are unutrusthworthy AND overall terrible to their members

MC donalds Fast food have a 3.5 google rating which is run by highschool kids. But this insurrance company has a rating of 2 on google. I had this insurance for my family for the last 2 years . My clear opinion on this shady company is you as a member will die because of their customer service or a minor illness will almost kill you because they will never cover or have any doctors available to treat you. As soon as doctors office hear that you are covered by CHC they will cut the phone . we ended up paying out of pocket to see a good doctor. look below at mcdonalds rating

This company was the biggest pain in the butt the first year of marketplace. They dropped us without notice, but still paid claims?? Weird. I have to chock it all up to them not being prepared. Now in 2016 they have a new system, it seems to work much better and we have no complaints. Would give 5 star review but the issues in 2015 kept me from it. I think Obamacare was pushed on everyone so quick that people were all scrambling to figure out what to do. Now it seems to be ok and their record keeping seems to be much better with this newer system.

After telling the company for 3 weeks that none of the preferred providers for mastectomy supplies is actually selling them and that the list they provided is incorrect they agreed the I could see an out of network provider. Today I went to fill my prescription for 6 mastectomy bras and 2 breast forms. I was told that I was only allowed 1 breast form and 1 mastectomy bra. So when you see a lady walking down the street with a one breast and a bad fitting undergarment remember me, the women who had Community Health Choice for a provider !

Unprofessional and sloppy. I found out today 11/2/17 that as of 10/16/17 all of the insurance coverage Community Health Choice paid for 7/24 and 7/25 of 2016 during my Memorial Hermann hospital stay was revoked for absolutely no reason. This is a whole year later. The premium was paid and there was no issues with me. Now, I am left with a total bill without insurance. I believe this business is scamming patients because they are losing money. There is absolutely no way to get in contact with customer service by phone.

I enrolled with CHC through the Marketplace and was getting a tax credit for my monthly payment. When I notified them that I would be making more money so that they could adjust my credit they FAILED to inform me that I needed to make a payment to basically "start a new policy." So my policy ended up being terminated for nonpayment. On top of that the representative that I spoke with refused to believe that they forgot to tell me...so basically...it was all my fault.

Scammed us out of our money. We had effective date of February 1st when we became members. They applied that to January before we were members and suspended our coverage. They said they will not refund our money even though they understand the money was misappropriated. They said to "file a complaint" so that is what I will do. I am going to file a complaint everywhere I can. Do not do business with these scam artists.

After seeing all the other stories about this company, i now know i am not the only one having a terrible experience. I have paid my premiums, talked to people on the phone after waiting for 30 minutes and still no resolution. I am seriously thinking of cancelling my policy , which means doing without health insurance for this year. I am at my witts end. I have paid and do not know if i and my wife are covered!!

This is such a scam company. They made me pay 300$ for a blood test(out of 3 tests done by diagnostics) saying that the specific test is not covered in my plan. It was a blood test and my plan says i only pay for copay. I Will not get this insurance again and I do recommend people stay away from this company. Update: I got a refund for the amount i paid but this should not have happened in the first Place!!

Little slow going at first but in the end there team took care of my customer service needs. I think they are in the process of expanding there labor force so I anticipate customer service will eventually be able to handle the flood of new customers they have. Much cheaper than BCBS and based here in Houston. THANKS AGAIN. CLARK G.

I am reviewing my original comment that said it was difficult to talk to a real person, which indeed was the case. However, I received a follow up call from Community Health Choice to find out about my experience. They provided me with a direct access number and other options to reach them. The caller was also very polite.

I just spent an hour trying set up and account and to log on to make an online payment. I want to set up recurring online payments and that seems impossible. I did this before and I had to set it up via the phone. The website does not accept my account number and there is absolutely no one available to talk to.

The wait time on the phone is way too long and poor customer services. They ask to much question for verification member ID, your name , phone no., address, E-mail address, who else is in the policy. Main thing they would not want to change the doctor name for my family unless they are available .
