Pros: Allows pets. We wanted to take our dog with us on vacation. The Hilton Ocean Front Resort in Hilton Head is one of the few SC OCEANFRONT resorts that allows pets. For those of you that do not have pets or do not want to stay in a room where a dog has stayed, they reserve specific rooms for people with pets. Other rooms are "non-pet" rooms. Besides being allowed to bring our entire family on vacation, we also enjoyed the fact that we were a very short walk from the ocean. Although some of the reviews state that the ocean view was obstructed, we had an oceanview room, not ocean front, and our view was exactly as we expected. None of the rooms have a close view of the ocean because the resort sits a bit back off the beach and has a lot of palm trees. The rooms really are the largest on the island and were very clean. We also liked that the hotel provides LARGE towels for the room. No skimpy bath towels! We especially liked that we had our own balcony. We also appreciated that the rooms have refrigerators and microwaves. We liked that there was a seperate "adults only" pool so we could get away from all the small children since we do not have any small children in our family. The resort grounds have a childrens play area, ping pong table, bikes, board games and books. There are also nice shaded areas with hammocks for the afternoon naps. Cons: We agree with the reviews that say the decor is a bit outdated. The rooms and structure have the feel of one of the old Myrtle beach, SC hotels. It really was not what we expected at $300 a night. We also did not like the idea that we had to pay a daily fee to park. They did not even offer free wi-fi. There is a fee for wi-fi access. The only free computer access was from the hotels business center. I did however get my free water and USA Today as a hilton honors member. The rooms were clean but very hot! There is only one AC vent in the room. We kept our thermostat set at 50F the entire week and the room never got cooler than 70F. The water pressure in the shower also leaves a lot to be desired. Although the "adult pool" was nice to get away from all the screaming kids, we found it to be odd that there was no music by the adult pool. Peaceful is nice, but this place was quite the limp noodle. Lastly, the dog area is not really a dog area. It is a somewhat grassy patch for the dog to go to the bathroom. Since dogs are not allowed anywhere else on the resort, there really was not much space on the resort to exercise our dog. I ended up walking him around the parking lot midday. Early morning and late evening we were able to tak our dog on the beach. This was one of the nicest parts of our trip. We had a very nice and relaxing vacation and would stay here again if we decide to bring our dog. If we decide to leave the dog at home, we are going to go for a resort with a newer look.

We were here the week following labor day and were surprised by how noisy the resort was despite it being off-season. The room was decently sized with a nice balcony though not particularly modern. The bathroom had wallpaper peeling off and part of the ceiling plaster coming down. We had a wasp making a nest in one of the chairs on the balcony which rendered it useless unless you wanted to risk waking the wasp. We ate one meal at the pool-side cafe and it was just okay. We did not get our room cleaned a couple times with no explanation. Our primary complaint was how loud! The staff would let the doors slam which reverberated through the walls no matter the hour. Also, the lounge played music so loud we could make out the songs even in our room in another building. They kept going at a late hour and then when the music stopped they talked very loudly right outside our balcony for even longer. I attempted to call guest services a couple times but no one answered. Very disappointing. We will not be back to this resort.

Spent my Birthday here and it was very nice! The hospitality was wonderful! I brought my dog and she was greeted with a food and water dish, dog treats, a tennis ball and her very own welcome card! The rooms are very nice, the sheets have a cooling sensation to them and I enjoyed the kitchenette and private balcony. The room service was very convenient with having my dog with me. The grounds are very cozy and I loved the layout of everything. I really enjoyed talking to the international staff and chatting about their home countries. Some suggestions I would make is adding a designated business center (a couple of computers and a printer). The only thing they had that my friend could use was an I-pad and it had to be returned for other guests to use. Another thing I would add is more variety in the food, especially geared for summer, like a variety of cold sandwiches, and other cold plates. All in all though, the resort is wonderful and I will definately be returning!

Everything has been excellent during this trip to visit family in Hilton Head. Checking in, there were mimosas, fresh regular and strawberry lemonade, and cucumber water. The room is very accommodating with clean comfortable beds and feather pillows and down comforters. The staff has been top notch, professional, considerate, and accommodating. All reservations and planning relative to respect activities have been handled through the concierge or guest services. The daily servicing has been thorough and been thorough CONSISTENTLY. The pool side services have been exceptional a well. We have received nothing short of the service you would hope for at the price of the accommodations. This stay has made me doubt that "economy class" lodging has ever been with the discount and when rolled in with flight and car rental the trip itself has been very affordable and well worth it to experience a truly up scale resort experience and vacation.

Absolutely beautiful resort. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The beds were amazing. Breakfast was okay. I expected more from a resort like this. The grounds were immaculately maintained. The pools were great. We had two company meals in the Shorehouse and the food was wonderful. The only problem I had was a recurring one: the staff. Many of the staff I encountered were extremely rude and unapologetic about it. I came in to the lobby around 11 pm one night and the man at the front desk had his pants unzipped and was tucking his shirt in. In plain view of everyone! I had received a call from the front desk to my cell phone asking for someone else. I was inquiring as to whether they needed to speak to me and the man at the desk said "well what did they say on the phone? I have no idea. Obviously they would have told you. How should I know why they called you?"

My fiance and I (newly engaged while here), stayed at the Resort the first week of April 2010. Everything was incredible.Great rooms, very clean, great guest service, and INCREDIBLE atmosphere!! It was beautiful there and we will come back again. Open air hotel was so nice!!! Oh..did I mention...they allow dogs!!! (Check the restrictions for dogs on the Beach during certain times of the year though). The only complaint I have is the $9.00 a day parking fee!!!! That needs to go away. After spending that much money to stay at a resort...parking should be included!!! Not to mention the fact that we never left really. Everything you need is right there..the ocean, restaurants, cafes, a mini grocery area, 2 swimming pools, jacuzzi, multiple bars and dining...you get the idea! Very impressed!! PLEASE GET RID OF THE PARKING FEE!!!!

The room itself is very nice. I like the kitchenette and the room in general is big and comfortable. Comfy pillows and bed. Service is so-so. We are supposed to be beachfront but were put in a room with a view of the parking lot. When we asked to switch initially we got, essentially, no response. After going up to the room, we called down to the desk to implore them for a new room. We were moved to a new room the following day with a view of the pool. I feel as if some people would care more about the room but I come to HHI once a year to enjoy the sights and sounds of the beach. Neither room has provided that. Next year we are likely to go back to the Marriot. However, I want to mention, Cecilia at the front desk was VERY nice.

Photo shown online is very inaccurate and deception. I am having no WiFi signal for pay bill back in Taiwan during my holiday. Very upset. I have to refer to lobby area full of old people to use WiFi and even after it is very slow and annoying. This is not luxury hotel whatsoever and very upset for my first holiday at the seaside. Inside suite is very antiquity and old appearance. My balcony had lot of rusts and bugs. Bathroom wallpapering is peeling and falling off and also the bedding is not as luxury as Westin or even La Meridi Inn. I am not enjoy my view also because I am only seeing ugly black parking lot. Only nice thing is hotel is close to beach.

We really enjoyed our stay here in August 2017. There was some initial confusion about the bed types in our two rooms, but it was eventually resolved professionally. We had great beach views from the rooms, and we appreciated the complimentary morning beverages and kitchenettes in the rooms. The hallways are open to the outdoors (not air-conditioned), but we liked the easy access to the beach and pools from the stairs at the end of the hallway. The adults only pool was a nice touchb and the location provided easy access to local golf and kayaking. The elevators were very warm and humid and would probably be even more uncomfortable on hotter days.

When you have a first time doing anything, you want it to be as enjoyable as possible right? My first trip to Hilton Head during this years Easter Weekend was not as enjoyable because the weather was colder than expected...however, the accommodations at the Omni Hilton Head Resort made up for it. From our arrival to departure, it was a great experience. Service was fast and friendly and our bell hop not only helped us on the day of arrival but also helped us later by tracking down the shuttle for us and making sure that we were taking care of. I definitely would stay here again. Great job Omni.

Great Resort on the Ocean Very nice property on the ocean in HHI. Resort is gated, has several pools, spa, pool side bar, and fire pits to sit by on those cool nights. My room was great, clean, comfortable, and included a kitchenette with wet sink, mini-fridge and microwave. I ordered room service a couple of times and the food was great! An array of daily activities keep you busy, which unfortunately I could not do, but they looked fun. Resort is great for couples and families. If traveling with children, ask when checking for the Club Omni pack for kids filled with more fun stuff.

We visited on the weekend of 2/20-2/22. The place is very nice the rooms are huge and there are a ton of pillows on the bed. Everyone at the hotel was very nice and pleasant. There are kitchenettes in the rooms so we could get a few snacks for the room which saves money. The only negative thing I can say is that the doors are really, I mean really loud when they shut. You can hear the doors from all down the hall. There are times when they are busy like during the day but it was crazy how loud those doors were. But really, I would go back even with the loud doors:)

Room remodeled but resort is still very dated. Plumbing issues all week. Maintenance in room 3 times last issue was sewage overflow. Ruined a suitcase and a few clothing items. Pool area is open to public but guest are not told this. Would of not stayed had we know. Resort does give out wristbands however it is not enforced that you wear them. Wifi is beyond horrible almost non existent. Guest services were not very helpful and unfortunately this only added to the distaste and dissatisfaction with this stay. Will not return.

The rooms were great. Very spacious and nice. Our room had two double beds, a nice balcony (I feel you would be able to see the beach from almost every balcony there), a small kitchen area, and a good bathroom that had a separate sink and mirror outside the bathroom. The hotel had several restaurants and plenty of nice areas to relax with two large fire pits, an area to play chess, table tennis, etc. Three nice pools including one adult pool. Was also right on the beach for easy access. Loved it and would definitely go back.
