I bought this Warranty for my current home and for my rental property in July. I put in a claim for my microwave in October. Two weeks went by and no call from them to fix it. After I called them they finally sent someone out to look at it a week after that. I was under the impression that they would fix or replace any item covered. That is not the case. I paid my $65 deductible just for them to tell me they would only cover up to $150 and they would send me a check for that amount to replace it myself. I voiced my concerns just to be told "We are giving you $150 for a 9 year old microwave". I signed and emailed the paper to get the $150 on November 9th. The paper I signed said it would take 7 to 10 business days to process. Tomorrow is December 9th and still no check. I called 2 days ago and was told it was in the Cue to get processed and would be a few more days. If my tenants ever have to use the Warranty, do you think they will be happy with this process??? I tried to cancel the policy due to all of the issues but was told I would only get back a small portion of the money I paid them. I feel like this company is nothing but a big SCAM.

DO NOT believe all the good reviews. After waiting for 20 minutes for a simple claim, and two weeks later they have not sent a technician. They give you the run around and keep asking you to fill out forms and delays after delays. Also they find the cheapest technician and even then they expect you to pay more than it says in the contract. They promise to reimburse you but so far they have not despite repeated calls. DO not FALL FOR THEIR LOW annual fees and low min payment because they do not offer an anywhere close to adequate service! But this is not the end. After weeks they said because we dont have maintenance records they will not pay for its repair. As another incident, our fridge stopped working. To cut the story short, after 9 weeks of run around they said they will not pay because of lack of maintenance records. Can you imagine being without a fridge for so many weeks and they kept saying they cannot find a cheap technician or that they are having discussions and asked us to find yet another technician etc etc etc. There are many other companies and you might pay a little more but they WILL cover you.

This is the worse experience I ever had. For my first claim I had to make 16 phone calls and 12 days between American Home Guard and the technician to get finally someone to come to my house. The technician was someone working from his house, his diagnostic for my washer was just looking at the washer and saying it will be to expensive to repair and ask for his check for the service and left. 21 days and 11 phone calls later they told me for the first 3 months of the contract I am only entitled to $150. I dropped the claim and but myself a new washer. Now I have been chasing them for the past week to send a technician to my house to check my dish washer, again the same story "We have not been to fine an available technician in your area we let you know as soon as we find one" really in Los Angeles you can find a technician after a week. Just for a sanity check i got on line and found in less than 5 minutes 9 companies that could send a technician same day or latest by next day. Please everyone do not sign up with American Home Guard, they are scam.

Very dishonest. They play with the wording you use when you make your claim so read your policy very well. They deny or pay partial claims to claims that should be paid in full. It’s been 6 months and I still have zero resolution so I reported them to the attorney general. Because of the outstanding complaint AHG won’t work with me at all when I did it to protect myself from their shady practices I paid in full for my policy that was a mistake because no claims have been reimbursed to me ever. I have paid 3 deductibles of 45.00 and not been paid for the estimates to fix my issues. I made a plumbing claim and paid my deductible plus the fee of 87.00 to open the wall. they denied it for a bogus reason based on how the claim was worded, electrical claim they never paid me for it yet I paid deductible, hvac approved only 150 asking for all cleaning records of the system I just bought the home a year ago why would I have that? They are rude and take forever to call you back and email

Some companies truly deserve the the recognition for the service that they provide. The sales rep was fully available and consistently gave me the best options for my family. He led me through the process so that every question I had was fully answered and I completely understood all of my options. At the end, I found the perfect plan for my family and I completely owe it to their company going well beyond their fiduciary duty. thanks again

Absolutely Pathetic. Avoid at all costs. They send you forms to fill instead of sending a technician. No technician called even after a week for the HVAC problem that was reported and they started lying that a technician called and got disconnected phone message. My phone was working and receiving multiple calls daily during the time. All bunch of lies. This company should be investigated for FRAUD by AGs in all states!

After purchasing my first home in august of 2016 I must say my experience with American home guard has been a great experience they have been so good with both of my claims I was with out heat just one week ago and they got me a technician to my home the Same day and he fixed the problem right then and there .. thank you American home Guard for all your assistance and excellent customer service !!

To all the consumer that are looking for help with their household appliance and to add, added comfort and insurance, this is not the company for you.... There are multi companies out there and you might be confusing this one with American Home Shield! Our recommendation is do your homework before signing anything with this company because unlike Veterans.... They do NOT have your back!

I purchased a policy back in January of this year. I was a little hesitant at first being that I have never had one of these warranties before. After a lot of research American home guard was at the top of my list. I have had 3 claims since then. Each time they came out I had excellent service. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional service at a great price.

American home guard is great. My a/c was out and it was super hot....my wife is pregnant and we needed help fast. She called AHG in the morning and before i got home from work the tech had come and gone...she paid him 45 bucks and the a/c was working just fine. They really helped me out in a tight spot. I recommended them to all my friends.

Total Rip OFF. I have contacted my attorney, the better business bureau, and the commissioner of insurance. No service, no value, no credibility. They use every loophole available to avoid paying eligible claims. I will also advise lenders and real estate agents to not recommend this company.
