I would only reccommend FamilyCare to my worst enemy! Hands down the absolute WORST health insurer out there- you are literally better off without health insurance. Their staff is very poorly trained, many of them are rude and unprofessional. Have a simple question? Tough luck! You will spend hours on hold just to get two or three different answers from two or three different people- and none of the information will be correct! Nightmare for doctors too- FamilyCare will fight with doctors (one of my providers told me that a conversation with their medical director devolved into a shouting match), and deny medically necessary care without explanation. Everyone knows that insurers are better at providing patient care than physicians- just ask FamilyCare!

This has been a nightmare. We have called several times and have been on hold for hours. While we are waiting they offer us the chance to leave a message. We keep on holding. The last time we waited about 3.5 hours and then they diverted us to leave a message anyway. We left the message and they never called back. Another bad incident. They approved couples counseling for us. They insisted on a treatment plan. In the middle of the treatment plan they approved, they decided they were no longer going to cover couples counseling. The final insult. They discontinued insurance and did not let us know until we needed a medical service when they told us that we were no longer insured. Can it get much worse than this? Probably, but this is pretty bad.

I had a great conversation with Michael. I have had not a very good experiences with them when it has came to dealing with some of my problems. This is how you really get decent service from them....... 1. Goto their FB page write a post or message to them and try to talk to Michael. He is great very caring about what concerns you might have. Then leave them a message through messageright with your phone number so where you can talk to them in over the phone. 2. Make sure that you talk to your attending Dr and any referrals that you have. 3. Be courteous with them and they will work with you.

watching the way that the providers that accept family care treat patients with this coverage is totally unexcuseable! also my daughter who has a significant history of shoulder pain, back pain and fibromyalgia needs referrals to specialist which family care is now completly ignoring and not at all helping the patient ! Horrible insurance.. horrible coverage, horrible all the way around!

I agree with all other reviews...I am treated like a total degenerate drug addict when the clinic asks me what type of insurance I have and then I am treated even worse when the provider knows.There is nothing good I can say at all about this insurance. Awful Awful Awful -Karla
