Old boiler had to be replaced. Bill and his crew used the occasion to fix also a bunch of radiators and pipe connections that were not working properly (and sometimes not working at all). Bill did an amazing job of not only replacing the boiler but in recognizing that the boiler is just one piece of a big system. It happened that our old house had many pipes and valves that were not working properly, with the result that the whole heating system was very inefficient. Of course we did not know that--nor did the other companies that gave us quotes for the job. With basically the same cost of the other quotes, Bill and his crew were able to replace the radiator and fix these other problems. Most notably, the strong (and very annoying) clunk noises that would come whenever the heating system started (which we assumed were inevitable since we bought the house 10 years ago) are now gone! The company was very professional in terms of explaining us the work to be done. They were always on time and there was no hiccups at all during the installation and later fine tunes. We are thoroughly impressed with their work.

My furnace was blowing cold air Friday morning so I call Verne & Ellsworth Hann for a quote, they said it would be $89 to come out for emergency service and $22 per quarter hour for labor. I agreed to this and the tech was out by 11am, He took 30 min to diagnose that my Thermal Limit switch was bad and explained how this switch works in my unit, he then went to his van to write up a quote so I check online and found the average cost of this part was around $20 so I figured this job should be no more than $200. The tech came back with a quote of $425 saying it would cost that much because he has to drive back to the shop to pick up the part. The shop is 4 miles from my home or about a 15 min drive, even with that excuse the price still would not equal to the $425 quote that he gave me. So I asked the tech to leave and paid the $89+$22+$22=$133 for coming out, I drove to V & V Appliance Parts on Euclid and E222nd I purchased the part plus an air filter for $23 and fixed it myself in 15 min. I will never call this furnace repair service again they will take advantage of your misfortune.

This company installed AC on 3rd floor to cool 2nd/3rd floor of an older home. The are a very professional company. They communicated well - office staff, on the job workers, lead sales representatives - all communicated very well. They explained the details of the job so I knew exactly what work they were doing and why they were doing it. They cleaned up there mess better than most venders I have ever used. The electric they referred me to for the wiring beat any of the electric quotes that I received from other electricians. I also attained multiple AC quotes from competitor companies in the area. Verne was slightly higher than 1 other quote but competitive on the others. The slightly higher fees were well worth the money spent. They use top of the line equipment whereas other local companies did not and this partially explains the higher price. They were also concerned with the aesthetics of the job. Thank very much.

I have used VEH for several maintenance issues in prior years. Last summer they advised me that I should think about getting a new AC unit for 2017 as my old was not efficient and had a leak that was costly to repair. I decided to take their advice and get some quotes at the end of winter 2017. Chris met me at the house for a quote on a Friday evening outside of normal business hours. He was professional, friendly, and provided me a few options for AC. He answered my follow up questions via email very quickly, and although they were not the cheapest quote I still chose them for the job based upon my confidence in their ability to do the job and back it up in the future. Chris applied zero pressure in his sales pitch. He installed the unit in one day, better than his promised expectation of a day and a half. They were clean, respectful, and came in at the quoted price.

We hired V&E Hann to replace our 80+ year old boiler last November. We are very pleased with their work. 1. Before providing a quote, Bill Hahn spent the time to answer all of our questions (I had a lot of questions). 2. On the day of the installation the crew covered our stairs and our basement floor to contain the mess while extracting the old boiler. The crew also covered their boots before walking into our home. 4. The crew was knowledgeable, courteous and kind. If I had a question, they spent time answering it. 5. After the installation they returned several times to check up on the boiler during the break in period even switching out radiator vents where needed to even out the heat distribution in our home.

New to Cleveland Heights from San Francisco I had no idea who to call to service our 1920 amazing mansion just off Fairmont until I kept seeing their vans in my neighbors driveways , now I know why ; this company is so honest , courteous , professional and prompt . A power surge pushed our old boiler system into extinction in the middle of the winter Polar Vortex. With temperatures hovering in the single digits, Verne & Ellsworth Hann was able to help out with an emergency installation. In my opinion, this company went above and beyond what would be considered ordinary customer service. They were accommodating, professional and genuinely concerned about us as a family. When we have family or friends come over, we actually take them down in the basement to show off our new boiler – we’re actually proud of it!

Straight forward pricing and quick to diagnose then fix the issue I had with my furnace. They gave me a 4 hour window for when the technician would show and called me about 15 minutes prior to them arriving. It was $90 base charge for the service and $24 every 15 minutes. In and out in an hour and a half. The technician explained everything that he was doing to troubleshoot the issue while I watched. Will definitely be using them in the future!
