I am looking at these reviews and wondering if they are for somewhere else? I think some general AAA, or other location comments are mixed in, as this location hasn’t been open as long as some of these reviews. This location opened shortly before January of 2016 at the end of December in 2015. Something is definitely wrong with the reviews here and this is why I am writing this. I have been getting service at this station since right after they opened. I recognized some of them from the AAA service station I went to beforehand. The other station was permanently closed for over a year before this one was opened, so the reviews can’t be from there either. This review is for Western Blvd. Raleigh, NC. Between the two stations they have serviced every need for over 130,000 miles on my Chevrolet S10. In that whole time I only had one problem with a prior (fill-in) manager regarding a bad part that ended with a resolution to my satisfaction. That was at the previous location and a while back. They have always been fair with me even in that instance. There was one time where I had to have the oil pan replaced. The quote I received I felt was way too high, so I went to get quotes elsewhere. A dealership quoted me almost 3 times as much and other places were almost 2 times as expensive. I also confirmed that it needed to be done. Some had no warranty unlike AAA, which I think is 24K/2years on most. I ended up getting it done at AAA and have not had a problem since. I still get quotes before I have any work done and that way I know what to expect. If they find something else I get a new quote and way the options. There is a pamphlet I grabbed recently that has the prices for most standard services you would get. Here is an example of a huge problem I went through and how AAA ended up fixing someone else’s bad work. One time I was driving and my radiator finally just went. Being literally near a dealership with the help of some nice passerby’s, we pushed it in. I figured save my free towing if we needed later in the year. This Chevrolet dealership “fixed” my radiator. They shoved the wrong radiator in, messing up the lines to the transmission cooler, or rather didn’t connect them at all! The radiator was crooked and not level because the dealership tried to pass off a lesser radiator than the OEM radiator they charged me for. After failed attempts to get them to fix it and my truck being hit twice in their parking lot, I refused to have them “fix” it anymore. I brought it to AAA and asked if they could possibly fix it. After talking with the mechanic, I had the transmission cooler taken out and replaced it with the regular factory transmission line. The mechanic showed me what it looked like after he finished and I finally breathed again. Other than the fact I was stuck with a cheap radiator from a place that ripped me off, AAA had put the rest of it back the way it should be. Another time I stopped by to set up an appointment and the Service Manager, Steve, noticed my taillight was out as I was about to leave. He swapped it out right then instead of letting me drive around with out a taillight. Yes, sometimes you have to pay a little more for a warranty on quality parts with people you trust. My 14year old truck has over 200K miles on it and runs great. I get compliments all the time after people find this out. My point here is if you take care of your car it should last. I expect my truck to make it 250K or more before the costs of servicing it starts to outweigh buying another vehicle. Bottom-line they have always done well by me at Western Blvd. and I am a loyal customer because of it. I will always go to this one first as I feel the most comfortable with them. In addition, the extra AAA discounts from being a member also add up both with car repairs/service and trips. There is certain comfort in knowing if something happens on the road away from home there is usually a Triple A around.

I went in for a oil change with free tire rotation maintenance package for just under $18. Sounded like a good deal so i added a wheel balance to the work order which cost me $30 extra. They did the oil change just fine, but did not actually rotate my tires and performed a wheel balance check rather than removing the old weights and rebalancing each wheel. I was given a list of recommended services which totalled $1500. One of which was a $400 wheel bearing replacement/repack job which i didnt need. Just an adjustment/retightening of the loose bearing which was mechanically sound and full of grease. A $40 repair performed by a mobile mechanic.

For those good reviews, you guys are lucky that they did not make you a target. I was charged $90 for the part which priced $20 at Autozone half mile away, more than four times than the retail price!!!! labor fee?? normally at least twice than a reasonable price. Not only that! those guys are famous at making you a new problem after fix the old one. After paying $300 for a coolant leaking, I lost the heat air. The manager was terrible and refused to admit it is their responsibility. If you argue, he will try to call cops, and tell you never come back again.....

ZERO STARS.These guys checked my car when i was gonna buy it, they told me the car does not have any problem, and it is perfect. I bought the car and guess what! The car got alot of issues, which costed me 1000$!!! Another time i went there they told me i needed ball join for front wheels to get them aligned, which was gonna cost me 400$. I showed the car to another mechanics, he said THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BALL JOINS! He aligned my car and it is perfect now. These guys do not know anything about car, be careful when you are doing business with them!

I took my car here for a diagnostic test. The test was 109.00 by itself and they were still going to make me pay for it even if I got the work done there. I did not get any work done on my car because they were too expensive. They are in a college area but their prices are not for college students. I was going to get charged more than $300 for a tune up alone when I went I got it done for 100. The customer service was great. The people were friendly but I will not be returning there when so many other places charge less for the same work and parts.

My check engine light was on and the truck was puttering. Had it towed to AAA Avent Ferry because I am a member. 3 days later I go to pick it up and it wont start. They got it started, then on my way to work the truck did the EXACT same thing, after I just spent $850 for them to "fix it". The part they change out costed me $650, I called the Nissan dealer and they quoted me at $400. All these reviews are accurate, this shop is a bunch of CROOKS! NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD!

I came in with a battery issue which could have potentially been $300 and a 2 day wait for the part to come in. Brad (mechanic) was able to dig through everything and found the spare part for his own car and used it to fix mine. April at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful. They both did everything they could to prevent me from having to spend the $300, even using his own car part. I will be going back here for all my future car care. Thank you Brad and April!

went in today for basic service before a road trip this weekend. had oil changed and checked the fluids before we leave. the mechanics found a brake light out and a nail in a tire so i had it taken care of. no pain no big bill just what i needed and nothing extra. we did talk about stuff due by the miles that i will have them do at my next visit. the waiting room has wireless internet so i just sat and waited. not such a bad visit for me.

I went in to get a simple oil change. I called ahead, so I knew the price ahead of time. It took about an hour to do my oil change, but they also checked all of the other maintenance things on my car for free. There were even free donuts. Customer service was very courteous. I knew there were several problems with my car but they did not pressure me to have them fixed, just made me aware. Overall a good oil change for a decent price.

I went in and they tried to convince me to get several things as a precaution and were very vague about what was mandatory and what would be the precaution. They were trying to to charge me to $1000+ when I only needed about $200 worth of work. It seemed like they were trying to exploit my lack of knowledge about vehicles, which was extra disappointing because all the employees were very kind up front

Dishonest Crooks - Watch out for these guys.I did not believe all the negative comments about them till I tried myself. They must prey on all the college students living all around them. They are trying to screw you whenever they can. Just for a simple oil change even with a AAA coupon they charged me a lot.

I used this shop to mount, balance and install 4 new tires I bought through TireRack on the internet. The service was fast and inexpensive (less than Walmart charges!) and included a free alignment and battery check. I also got a 10% AAA member discount. Excellent service and value - I will use them again!

Long story, but my car died and they told me I needed a Catalytic converter to get my car running again. Went to get it towed from the shop to get a second opinion. Tow guy, just to see, went to crank it up...it worked fine. They were going to replace a part, for over $500, that was not needed.

Car Care Consultants very professional and good at listening. The AAA "discount" ends up being more than the regular prices of nearby, higher rated garages. Car was diagnosed, and supposedly fixed, but not fixed properly. This is the last time that I use their services!

Nice people but way overpriced. Went in for a quick and easy oil change and after they wanted to do $450 in maintenance. I took my car somewhere else and it turned out only half of what they wanted to do actually needed to be done and for nearly half the price

I have needed to have my car towed to this facility on two occasions and in both cases they were able to work on the car right away and resolve the issues to my satisfaction. Additionally, they went out of their way to help us with some special requests.

Although nice on customer service, tried to charge me for $1000 worth of work for what turned out to be just a dead battery. I would highly recommend getting a second opinion!

Great place. Great people. Prices extremely reasonable. Rarely have a problem; but if I do, they always correct it. Thanks AAA Carolinas! You are top notch.

Twice the price they quoted over the phone and TWO HOURS for a simple oil change despite making an appointment in advance! This place is ridiculous.

It takes an unnecessarily long time for the staff to get to you. Wendy was patronizing when she finally got to me.
