Irrevocable Loss of Trust
After more than two decades of excellent service from LANB, I was forced to move to another institution for my banking services. The unexpected cancellation of multiple, recurring and automated bill payments required weeks of effort to remedy. Recurring transfers between LANB accounts became impossible, meaning that I accrued legal risks with no tools at my disposal to make required, recurring intra-bank transfers that are routinely available at so many other institutions. In summary, the new online banking system is pathetic. Adding insult to injury, in my vain attempts to find solutions, I found the the bank staff to be either clueless or contemptuously patronizing - often both. Perhaps the utter failure of the online system allowed the customer service issues to become prominent, or perhaps there was a total and sudden collapse of both during the summer of 2016. I held out hope for improvement, but after months of disdain by lobby staff, it no longer matters.

I have had terrible experiences with this bank. I strongly recommend people to consider other alternatives. This bank left me with no credit card in a foreign country for a WHOLE WEEK. That means no food, no accommodation and no means of transportation for a week in a foreign country. I had told them everything about my trip in advance (dates, locations and expected expenses); they still managed to block my card and took a week to resolve it after many emails and phone calls. A month later, they changed the daily limit on my card without notifying me; I was unable to get a hotel room for a conference. A week later, they cancelled the recurring transfer for my rent without letting me know. Nobody at the bank could tell me why, it took an hour to set it up again and they failed to provide a solution for my late rent. They never answer emails and only extremely slowly address your issues over the phone or in person.

Used to be a great bank to deal with . In the past I would highly recommend others to do their banking here. But no longer will I do that ! You called and spoke with a real human and they would assist you. Now it is an automated phone system with a wait time in excess of an hour. At the bank now you can expect at least a 20 minute wait to get to speak with someone . Also, in the past I would receive a monthly statement with all my accounts on it and complete activity of each account. However, I received 6 different pieces of mail from them the other day, one for each account, and double for some. WHAT A WASTE OF POSTAGE AND PAPER ! It was a great bank once, but NO LONGER. Why did you have to change for the WORST ? Very sad to see a small independent bank move to the dark side of customer service !

This used to be a great bank, until they chose to "upgrade" their online banking and removed basic functionality. Transfers and bill payments are now handled through an outside clearinghouse, even between two LANB accounts. The staff has not received adequate training to guide customers through the transition, and the most basic of electronic transactions are now more difficult than just writing and mailing a check. There is no longer any advantage to using this bank with their crippled system.

We have had excellent service from LANB for years. We were well-warned when the new system was coming in and told how to prepare. Change can always be a challenge, but with numerous correspondence from LANB of the coming changes, we were ready and able to maneuver the new system. The one issue we had was treated promptly and courteously. We had to re-enter our monthly direct pays, but all worked. I would much rather bank locally, just like I would much rather support our local businesses.

On hold for more than an hour. Went to the branch and sat in the lobby for over 45 minutes before they called me up. They still could not resolve my problem and asked me to come back after lunch. Really!
