I have our business and personal accounts at Collins for over 5 years. Most of the time I was happy with them, they were courteous and understanding in hard times. Last November I had a heart attack, and dropped into the Red for a couple of months. Their "processing fee" of every hit amounted to over $400 a month, which was one bill less we were able to pay. The company credit card was shut down, followed by the debit card. This is after I had explained that we were closing on a building, and would pay the credit card in full in a couple of weeks, the Company account was in the black, but we cant operate because the company debit card is no longer working. Member beware! do not fall on hard times. This institution is punitive in its response to such a degree that you will think you are the problem after years of fiscal responsibility.

At the end of November we moved back to Cedar Rapids. On December 2 we went to the main office on 42nd st and opened two checking/savings accounts. We were told that we could get one book of checks free for each checking account. We said OK, we do most things on-line so a book would last a while. A couple of weeks later I called to inquire when we could expect the checks and was told it looked like there was no problem with our order and that it would take 10-15 working days. We received the checks for one of the accounts on the 18th and waited until the 22nd and still no checks for the primary account. I went back in and talked to another person and was told that the checks were never ordered. This is good customer service? I think not!

I am sad and frustrated by CCU not answering the phone! I have had a good experience with this bank for years until now. There is absolutely no way to contact a live person at any location by phone, and today is the 3rd time I have called to be put on hold and then shifted to voice mail. I have left 3 voice mails with no call backs in 2 days time. I am locked out of my on-line CCU account, also due to errors in their system, and have no way of correcting the issue. It makes me contemplate a banking change.

Got help from Madine at the credit union to get a car loan. Was dealing with a very difficult dealership, and she helped give me advice on how to deal with them. The whole process of getting a loan and cashiers check, and then a new car only took 2 days. Was very impressed with the service and rates I received.

I have been at the bank for over ten years. Not only was the online interface awful but I was charge some fees. Not only was I not notified of said fees, they applied them multiple times even though they were not requested. When I contacted the credit union they did nothing. Needless to say I am switching banks.

Online chat is helpful, never have had a problem with the website which is what I primarily use. Some locations a far better than others. Johnson ave never picks up the phones on the weekends even though that is the only location open during weekends.

Impossible to get a hold of someone on the phone. You are "local" credit union, you should be accessible to your local customers. When I call to US Bank I am always able to talk to someone quickly, I will likely move my account over there.

Worst most corrupt bank/credit union in America. Threatened to sue from fraudulent banking on auto loan...what do you know they LOWERED THE INTEREST 4% POINTS!!!! FRAUD!!!
