In Jason Swango’s review he says that “These negative reviews are done by competitors upset because we kick ass” and “WE WILL NOT LOSE!” Well, let me thoroughly bury those cheap lies right now. TL;DR My lawyer came to court unprepared and ignorant of my case My lawyer failed to prepare me for court My lawyer did nothing to combat the dishonest proceedings of the prosecution My lawyer forgot to file my 2nd appeal within the allotted time, forcing me to be convicted My lawyer evaded responsibility for my conviction, and kept all of the money that was paid to him Google my name “Dax Maness” and on the first page you will find the link to read my indecent exposure conviction in detail since it was published in “Virginia Lawyers Weekly.” I was not naked as I was wearing a thong and had all of my “private parts” covered (I was covered just as much as a friend of mine would be when she would go out, and she NEVER had any legal trouble over it). I will refer back to this written conviction, but for now I am going to take things in chronological order since there are a lot of errors to point out on the part of Swango Law. This was the first time that I’ve needed to participate in such an extensive experience with a lawyer, so in retrospect I feel that I learned a lot from the regular delinquency of my lawyer. At the time, I didn’t really know anything about going to court so the lawyer was able to take advantage of my ignorance. For both of my trials there was almost no preparation, discussion, or coaching regarding how to act, and what to say. During my first trial my lawyer saw the picture of me wearing my thong for the first time and came back and said “I just saw the picture, and it doesn’t look good.” In other words, he came to court admittedly unprepared and ignorant of my case, even though he had previously told me that it should be an easy case, and indeed it SHOULD have been. I lost my case and we proceeded to trial #2 In the second trial the lawyer’s work was again peripheral. He seemed to lack a significant understanding of the important details of the case and allowed the judge and jury to mostly be left to their own biases and dogma which were used against me. I addressed the court before my sentencing, and afterwards I asked the lawyer how I did and he said that there was 1 thing that I said that made him cringe—again, the preparation and coaching was minimal, and I ended up paying the price for it. Additionally, I ended up being unprepared to speak because I did not have an understanding of what was happening since the lawyer never took the time to explain how the courts work. I lost the second trial and told the lawyer that I wanted to proceed to do a 2nd appeal. Quite a bit of time passed and I did not hear anything back from the lawyer. When I did finally hear back from the lawyer he said that it was too late! He admitted that he forgot to file the appeal and that now it was too late to do it. In fact, he never even sent me the paperwork regarding the appeal. Even after it was too late I asked through e-mail to be sent the paperwork and I never heard a response back from him. The reason why he didn’t want to respond is probably because he knew that he was guilty and did not want to be held legally responsible. The written conviction against me really says it all. The made-up and unfounded assumptions demonstrate that my lawyer from Swango Law did nothing to represent my case. He made no effort to correct those who legally attacked me in unfair and dishonest ways. He failed to have my case represented for what it actually was. Still, he was happy to keep all of the money that was paid to him and evade responsibility. Swango Law is not just a threat to those who do business with them, but they are a threat to all Virginia residents. Why? Because now my case is on the books and can be used in future cases against other people. Swango Law will take your money, then take more of your money, then they will stand by while your freedom gets taken away.

I used swango for a custody case because i found out my ex was moving in with a 19 year old and wanted to prevent it. I wanted to expedite so my daughter wouldnt have that opportunity but was advised to wait and file when the move occured. after she moved i yet again was advised not to expedite and file like normal and i did. 5 months later i was on the docket and the cards had balanced out meanwhile i was charged for them to discuss expediting the case. Not only does my daughter have to be raised by an immature teen but they found a way to drain a 3500 retainer to do a custody order agreement and child support agreement which i payed 900 for from another lawyer previously. For those of you that work paycheck to paycheck but will do anything for your kids, dont get suckered into their marketing scheme they are there for the money.

Have a friend that went to this firm....boy! What a rip off!!! DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE with this firm!!!! My friend did ALL the leg work....handed it over nice and neat. This firm blew through $5,000 on basically emails ($35 to read and $35 to respond) , phone calls ($118 to pretty much pick up the phone!!!) $1500 to read what my friend spent months putting together, and $1200 to type up a copy with the firms heading on it!!! And bullshit miscellaneous charges every where else! NOTHING was filed with the courts and my friend never saw the inside of a courtroom!!!! BEWARE OF THIS LAW FIRM!!! I guess if you want to rob people and get away with it....become a LAWYER! BIGGEST CROOKS ON THE PLANET!!!

Mr. Swango helped me with a reckless driving ticket. He was great. We were in front of the judge for about one minute and Mr. Swango got everything reduced down to minor speeding. I got clocked at 81 in a 55! I was scared that I would lose my license and get major fines, but Mr. Swango told me not to worry about it. Said he would take care of it and he did! Thanks again Jason.
