If you are reading this review you are probably in the position I was a few months ago. My son was returning from a trip and driving through Virginia when he was stopped for speeding on I-81. Living in New Jersey and not knowing attorneys in Virginia, I searched the web but was very worried about selecting someone randomly for something so important. These reviews helped steer me towards Bob Keefer and I am so happy that it did – I am 100% sure I made the right decision! Let me start by saying our case was not a simple one. My son was doing over 90 MPH when he was stopped, which as you probably now know is “Reckless Driving with Speed”, a criminal misdemeanor that remains on your record forever. He is a good student and a safe driver so I was shocked that my son would do something so stupid. I later earned of some extenuating circumstances that did not excuse what he did, but certainly explained why he did it. I knew he needed to be punished but the thought of a permanent record made me want to do whatever I could to reduce that chance. I contacted Mr. Keefer and he immediately explained that our case was bad, and set my expectation that a situation like ours did not often turn out the way I hoped it would. Beth from his staff was great, walking me through the paperwork and process and we put our fate in Bob’s hands. As one might expect, the judge was not very interested in extenuating circumstances and my son was charged with Reckless Driving, although he did not lose his license and the fine was much lower than it could have been. We decided to appeal the decision knowing full well the new outcome could be worse. Mr. Keefer worked very hard to gather information from the Trooper and the Prosecutor, and make sure they heard the extenuating circumstances. To their credit all parties kept an open mind. We went in front of the Judge who also gave us a fair chance to tell our story. In the end the Judge reduced the charge, so my son no longer has a criminal record that will follow him the rest of his life. Mr. Keefer was able to make the Judge and Prosecutor see he was a young driver that panicked and did a dumb thing, but who learned a lesson from his mistake. My situation is probably different than yours so please don’t count on this outcome for this type of offense but I am sure Bob and his staff gave us the best chance to succeed, and for that we are eternally grateful.

I had not had a ticket of any kind for many many years, and have a spotless driving history. However, while on my way to my commuter bus bound for Washington DC one morning around 3.30 AM, I was stopped and given a ticket, which by 2 mph put me in the reckless driving category. In going to DC on a regular basis, I spend a large amount of time on the interstate, so sound representation was very important. I contacted the Keefer Law Firm and received a swift response. I talked to Bob, and his absolutely wonderful staff. It was very obvious the firm had great knowledge and experience. By following his sound advice, the ticket was subsequently dismissed. I received a reckless driving ticket via my own carelessness driving 89/65 on I-81 returning to Harrisonburg where I live on the weekends and travel to NoVA during the week where I work for the DoD. I did not know that this type of offense could impact my government security clearance and also could result in a suspended license; needless to say I was worried about how this could turn out in court without legal representation. Mr. Keefer and his staff were prompt in communication via email since I am not in Harrisonburg during the week and I was able to speak with Mr. Keefer several times via phone. On my court date, Mr. Keefer immediately phoned me to let me know that he was able to drop my reckless driving offense to speeding (79/65), keeping a reckless driving criminal offense off my record which has provided me with, as you can imagine, much needed relief. Thank you so much for the quick response on updating me with the results of my case in addition to providing me with an attachment of the court screen, truly appreciat it. I have called and payed off the fine and court fee this morning. I cannot say enough great things about Mr. Keefer and his assistant Beth. Both were very helpful in explaining the situation with an underage DUI charge, and the best/worst case scenarios. Mr. Keefer suggested a proactive approach, and this plan worked perfectly. My daughter’s charge was dropped to an underage possession, and will be dropped completely (as if never happened) in July after she completes the agreed ASAP program. Could not be happier! One of my sons recently received a DUI after leaving a party at JMU. He eventually realized that he was impaired and should not be driving and pulled off of the road and stopped. Shortly thereafter he was approached by an officer and given a DUI; he was also under age. After a night in jail, my son realized what a DUI could do to his career after leaving college. At that time we decided to hire a good attorney in the Harrisonburg area to represent him. After doing a significant amout of research and talking to a number of friends, I decided to hire Mr. Keefer to represent my son. A brilliant move! Mr. Keefer was able to reduce the DUI to Reckless driving which will allow my son to pursue a career that would otherwise have been not possible. While he was very firm with my son about the dangers of alcohol, he was also very understanding. This review is from a very thankful father.

I recently got a reckless driving ticket in Va. I didnt know it was a criminal offense, being from out of state, but the rules are the rules. Anyways, Bob was the first call I made after I got home from my trip. He gave me the rough outline within minutes of the call. He even tolerated a tirade I flew into, when I learned how serious the infraction was. After that, everything went smooth. The ticket was reduced to a speeder, and I am satisfied with the result. I feel I did OK. I was doing above 90, so, they could have really burned me good. The communication between Bob, Beth, the Courts , and myself, was all done proffessionally, and with honesty. This law firm absolutely saved my career. I am an O-1 in the Navy on my way to flight school and got charges while in Harrisonburg that put all of that into jeopardy. Mr. Keefer and his team worked with me for rough 5 months to eventually have all my charges dismissed. While my particular case was a good one Mr. Keefer got results that far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend hiring this man. Mr. Keefer in one word was amazing! He did the impossible for me! I put myself in a horrible position and had literally had no outs. Both he and Beth Todd were extremely dilagent in their efforts to give me the best representation possible and it paid off! My son was guilty of driving 92/65 and rightfully so was charged with Reckless Driving. We actually are thankful for the officer that stopped our son before he caused harm to himself or someone else. We hired Mr. Keefer who was brief and methodical in the advice he gave us. He identified the things we needed to do, and we attempted to go above and beyond in everything that was requested. Mr. Keefer knew how to manage the case, and told us his goals. In the end, we were very satisfied with the verdict and punishment that was rendered. I was charged with an 86/65 Reckless Driving speeding ticket. As a professional I was worried so much and was in the state of shock what this would do to my career. I called Mr. Keefer to see if he could do anything for my mistake. Mr. Keefer listened to me carefully and explained everything in detail. His office staff was excellent. Mr. Keefer did awesome job and got the reckless driving charge reduced to simple speeding ticket. It was really UNBELIEVABLE for me but he did. Bob and Beth did a great job on my case. I was charged with reckless (85/65). I had shopped around for attorneys to represent me. I think I made the correct choice. The whole case went out smoothly. Unlike others who just promise you, Bob actually gets the job done. I am really impressed with his and other members of his staff, the way they handled the case. There was never a time when I would call and I would get to their voice-message. Someone would always be there to assist you. The prompt replies and confirmations when you send your documents is really appreciated. The office is worth the money that they charge.
