Ms. Laila Raheen and Ms. Margaret Stanley (Gigi) were exemplary and professional in their handling of my two cases. Laila was clearly knowledgeable of Family Law as she used various legal methods to obtain information critical to winning my first case. She then dug into the details of my second case to protect my rights during settlement, while Gigi helped to keep me and the case on target by continuously communicating deadlines and checking documentation. Both Laila and Gigi provided excellent feedback and advice promptly. I always felt I could call or email them with any questions or concerns and receive their full attention. They were never condescending nor cold when answering my questions and they always left me feeling content with the explanations I received. My Attorney, Laila Raheen was phenomenal representing me in my divorce, there were several items and conditions that were very important for me to keep, and she was excellent in meeting my expectation of getting an excellent settlement agreement. I was divorce prior to my court hearing because she worked very hard to get the agreement done by the court date so that I can avoid the trouble and expense of going to trial. She made sure I understood every aspect of the settlement. I have only positive things to say about Livesay & Myers, and Stephanie Sauer specifically. Stephanie has represented me through a bitter separation/divorce and a very ugly and complicated custody dispute. I’m sure that no case is easy, but this one has had a number of unique challenges, and I’ve been very happy to have Stephanie on “my” side! Armed with her obvious knowledge and experience in cases like this, she knows exactly when to be subtle and reserved, and most importantly, knows when to extend her talons. I wouldn’t wish the ugliness of a divorce/custody battle on anyone, but if you find yourself in that unfortunate position, I would strongly recommend hiring Stephanie.

I recently used the law office of Livesay & Myers for a divorce. It is a process no matter what type of divorce you seek. I had a no fault divorce which was filed in October and completed in January. Keep in mind, a property settlement and custody agreement will be needed in order to file a no fault divorce and VA requires a one year separation. I worked with both Laila Raheen and her paralegal, Margaret Stanley. Both are extremely professional and helpful throughout the process. I have no problem recommending them to anyone.
