My experience with Academy Mortgage in SLC, Utah was nothing short of fantastic. I started off working with Austin, who was very helpful, answered all of our questions, and set my wife’s mind at ease, which isn’t easy to do. My credit score was boarder line, so Austin is the one who suggested a person for me to call to help get my score back up quickly, no kidding, 30 days and it started moving up, and it hasn’t stopped going up yet. Next I met Tamara, who again was very knowledgeable and helpful. Tamara is who we worked with the most I would guess as she kept us up to date on all of the information and processes at least a couple of times per week. Next was Jeff, our loan officer, what a great guy to work with. I know how busy these guys are, but Jeff never rushed us, as we looked at several options and ways that we could get the loan using my VA Benefits, with the lowest interest rates, and greatest upside for my wife and I’s situation. Last but not least I had the pleasure of working with Jennifer. Once we started to provide our letters, forms, W-2’s and all of the other pertinent information needed, we began working with Jennifer. She kept us organized and on track. For having so many loans being processed at the same time, and all of the information that she gathers on a weekly basis, this girl was laser focused, and was totally amazing. Jennifer made sure that all of the “I’s” were dotted, and the “T’s” were crossed before the underwriter ever got the packed. I have no doubt that the underwriter knew that his job was made much easier because of Jennifer’s thoroughness. I would Very Highly recommend Academy Mortgage to all of my friends, family, and neighbors in the future!! Five Stars every day of the week!!

I originally published my review under the South Jordan location by mistake. We have now had our loan about six months and the servicing of the loan has been transferred twice! The transferring is annoying to say the least. I know one lender we considered said they would not transfer a loan... My original review follows: My wife and I bought a Candlelight home and Academy Mortgage was a preferred lender. We were told there was a financial incentive and that Academy would match competitor rates, so it was a no-brainer. Academy continually told us that we would be happy with our experience and that they would match a rate. We came to find out that in order to match a rate we had to use our incentive money. Closing time neared and as we debated rates, rates increased, and we ended up worse off than if we had worked with one of the lenders we had originally planned. I am not impressed with the lack of attention and care that we received and could not recommend Academy as a lender-

Eric Robinson my Loan officer was great!! He was very helpful with explaining the structure of the loan and what loan would be most beneficial to me . Everything was great from the rate, terms, and even the little details like no extra payment fees etc. They only reason for the 4 star rather than a 5 has nothing to do with the actual service or anyone I was in contact with but because they sold my loan to the most corrupt, fraudulent, shady bank in the U.S. Wells Fargo. To add to that they sent me 4 emails, and 3 texts to give them a 5 star review, I do not think you should ask for a review let alone 7 times. Also I have a 3 inch thick stack of mail from Mortgage insurance companies trying to sell me mortgage insurance due to my info being leaked. I would recommend Academy to a friend.

This was our first home buying experience. Can you say stressful. Friends and family told us it would be but Jeff Morgan with Academy Mortgage was AMAZING!! He seems to be a very busy guy but never let us feel that. We never felt like we were just another loan. Jeff and his team (Tamara and Jennifer) were very kind and helpful as well. They answered all our questions and always made us feel very positive about the loan going through. My husband and I would recommend Jeff and his team to anyone! They really were great! If we ever have to do another mortgage loan it will definitely be through Academy Mortgage!

But they were able to get me the lowest possible interest rate, with the most affordable loan plan for me. They made a nearly impossible process, fast, smooth and affordable. I will say that the most valuable part of my experience with them was learning about all the ins, outs and the tricks of the Real State market and the home lending system.

For me the biggest surprise about the lending process is that there were no surprises. I have had other experiences where a day or two before signing I will be asked to provide some additional document or jump through some additional hoop. I expected more of the same from Academy, but to my delight the loan was just simply DONE! Everything that was needed from me had been turned in weeks previously. Great process!
