Simply said I would highly recommend securing a home loan through Veritas. My wife and I were looking to purchase our first home and after looking around a bit someone recommended Veritas to us. We reached out to them and from the get-go we were very comfortable speaking with Braden Natter, one of their senior loan officers. He was friendly, very easy to speak with initially (and to stay in touch with throughout the lending process - spoiler alert, we decided to use Veritas), and the other individuals we interacted with were also just as easy to reach and communicate with. We ended up going with them due to the ease of which we could ask questions and get knowledgeable responses (as first-time home buyers we had a lot, I mean A LOT, of (stupid) questions), and Braden and his team were very patient. They even went so far as to check on us during times when the stress level of the home seeking process seemed to peak (waiting for home inspections, meth/radon tests, and appraisals) because they anticipated questions we might have. We locked in a great rate at a good time, but equally important is the fact that there was not a single aspects of the financing process that did not proceed smoothly. Their service and friendliness was greatly appreciated, it was a pleasure doing business with them!

Unfortunately I cannot recommend my experience with Veritas. Below are the main reasons: 1) They ask for all of your sensitive information (tax history, bank statements, social security number, etc.) via email. Most lenders have a secure website you can directly upload documents to. This is a much more secure method in my opinion. 2) Miscommunicated estimated closing costs dramatically. I was told that my “out of pocket costs” would be $456. I assumed this meant the total amount of money that I would need to bring to closing. It was frustrating to find out weeks later that I actually would need to bring over $6k to closing. “Out of pocket costs” to the Veritas meant the difference between their quote and another lender I had priced out. 3) Simply expensive. Box Home Loans beat their price, even after a special concession by Veritas, by thousands of dollars. This is amazing to me considering Veritas receives an extra $4k in seller paid closing costs due to there “preferred lender” status.

I worked with Cari Meabon, Lori Turner, Jenn Chamberlain and they were simply fabulous a team! Everything went smoothly and seamlessly. Everyone was extremely responsive and many times stayed late into the evenings to make sure everything was done and on target. We were on schedule as promised and it was the most hassel free mortgage experience. On a personal note, all the ladies I worked with was beautiful as well! Thanks ladies for all of your hard work!

We wanted to do a refi on our home before the rates went up. Everyone we worked with was very professional. Great service, quick response and best interest rate we could find. I would highly recommend Veritas to anyone. As a side note, I was talking with our appraiser and he asked which company we were using. When he found out it was Veritas, he said they were the best. He loved working with Veritas. That says something when even the vendors are impressed!

Stay away! They will smooth talk you and then put your loan off until the last minute. Our loan officer (Amber Wykstra) was rude, insulting, and nasty towards the end. She put me and my wife down, yelled at us, and then management did nothing after we called and complained. Do yourself a favor and stick with someone more professional.
