BCBS has provided me with the worst experience I have ever had with a business. They billed my boyfriend at the wrong amount all year. Midway through the year, they realized they should have been billing at a higher amount. They added up the total of their errors, and expect us to pay the accumulation of their errors within a month, or the insurance will be cancelled. They also retroactively changed the paid-through date to no longer be current, even though every received bill was paid on time and in full. This means my boyfriend cannot receive medical coverage through his insurance, and anything he would need would have to be paid out of pocket. We have gone back and forth by phone and email for almost a month now, and this has not been resolved. They will not allow us to speak to anyone in the financial department or upper management, so we are forced to re-explain to customer service representatives what the issue is every time we call. They do not have the power to change anything, so over and over again they have sent messages to upper management. Every time they get a response, they keep reexplaining WHY the error happened instead of providing a solution for it. Each message exchange takes days. It has been such a bad experience that I have filed a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance to help resolve this. In general, BCBS has a very disorganized system in place to handle any issue. They do not let you speak to anyone who has any power to actually make changes or decisions. I have been left extremely frustrated and feeling helpless through this whole process as the date in which the insurance will cancel comes closer and closer. The way they have handled this is unethical and dismissive. Other members of my family have had similar experiences with BCBS and their problem solving. Their errors are frequent and not easily (if ever) resolved. I do not recommend BCBS to anyone.

When I called in September, Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Texas told me my flu shot would be free if I got it at CVS. When I went to my local CVS, I was directed to the MinuteClinic for the shot, where I confirmed that they were "in-network" for Blue Cross / Blue Shield of TX. Now, two months later, Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Texas tells me there is a $25 co-pay because the claim was submitted by a clinic (a medical claim) instead of by the pharmacy, even though there was no option to receive the shot from the pharmacy. When I called today and spoke with Zach, an agent at MinuteClinic, he told me that this has been a big issue and they have received many complaints about it. But, he said the problem is with Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Texas, because they require the co-pay. My insurance plan is a "Select Choice" PPO.

Re:Tres classe, aka Miss Mia, Dear Sir or Madame, Mia had such a professional, genuinely good, and compassionate impact on our little family, and we are eternally grateful. I,and the rest of my family, would like to say thank you. Mia gave the best customer service we have ever had with any insurance company. Hopefully, Mia will be noticed and placed in a position to lead by example. Again thank you so much for having Mia on your team. Our family hopes to get someone just like Mia for all our future transactions. Best regards et sincerement, Dominique id. no. 840687110/ 028111 group

Horrible company. They ACCIDENTALLY dropped me for no reason, despite taking my extremely ridiculously high premium. Became very ill and went to the doctor only to be turned away due to no coverage. When I called BCBSTX, I was told by 4 representatives that I would have to wait a whole month to see doctor. After continuing to be ill for 2 weeks, I called to file a complaint and actually was able to deal with a human with a heart. The man reinstated me immediately and I was able to see doctor. I hate this company with a passion.

I had the same negative experience. I wanted to get an idea of health care costs based on CURRENT pricing. The rep totally ignored my question and kept repeating that I could not sign up until Nov 1 and to call back then. All I wanted was an ESTIMATE. I repeated myself multiple times with the same dismissive answer.

Would give a 0 if I could. You are supposed to be our advocates but you allow for us patients to get stuck between you and the providers on claim issues. Horrible customer and patient service.

This is probably the worst insurance company with worst customer service you can find. I would sincerely suggest any individual or company looking for health insurance to stay away from them.

they remove negative reviews as there are hundreds. BCBS is a filth pig machine that does not pay for medications or services but has a call center staff ready to snowball concerns. Pathetic

A nightmare of a network of putting you on hold, and checking things and in the end not finding what you are looking for.
