I hired Dennis Slate because my wife had such success with him in her custody case last year against her ex-husband. When I first met with Dennis, we talked about how I could modify my situation with my daughters to officially increase their time with my side of their family. I had been informally exercising a half-time schedule with my daughters for almost a full year when their mom decided to stop – without reason or warning – and refused to let me see them any more than our old custody order allowed. The kids went from seeing me half the time to only one night during the week and 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekends. My entire family was devastated. When I talked to Dennis I told him I wanted to make my previous half-time arrangement with my daughters official so that it couldn’t be revoked on a whim by their mother. He was honest and told me upfront that it would not be an easy battle but that he would do everything he could to remedy the situation. In fact, he was already working on a plan before I left our meeting. As soon as I hired Dennis and his team, they immediately got to work on my case. They filed the appropriate paperwork and had my ex-wife served with an order to appear at a temporary orders hearing very quickly. I worked with Shailey Gupta-Brietzke to line out every item that would be modified in my custody order. When my ex-wife saw that I’d hired Dennis Slate she was so intimidated that she agreed to officially change our daughters’ schedule back to half-time, while also forfeiting primary conservatorship. Shailey and Dennis were aggressive with the other side and worked diligently on my case. Both Dennis and Shailey’s professionalism and expert knowledge in family law helped this process go as smoothly as possible. Every request I made was granted. My daughters will finally have the stability they need now that they will attend the schools zoned to my home instead of having to worry that they’ll be ripped away every time their mom moves (which has averaged about once a year over the last 5-6 years). The results my family and I received from working with Dennis Slate and Shailey Gupta-Brieztke were better than I thought possible. Every staff member at Dennis Slate’s law firm was knowledgeable, responsive, and friendly. I enjoyed working with each one of them. Ryann Tighe, the legal assistant, helped me quickly anytime I contacted her. Dalia Benitez, the legal secretary, was very helpful any time I called the office too. It was great to have such a fantastic legal team to work with and not having to worry about being billed for anything unreasonable made it even better! If I am forced to litigate again, I will absolutely be using Dennis Slate and his team. They are amazing!

My husband and I reached out to Attorney Slate during a very difficult time in our life when my husband was trying to obtain custody of his son. In spite of how completely stressed we were at the time, Attorney Slate assured us that everything would be okay. Attorney Slate and his wonderful staff worked diligently and set up an Emergency hearing right away. Through Attorney Slate’s hard work my husband was awarded Temporary Custody and was set for a Final Trial soon thereafter. 6 months later we were back in court and won our hearing for the Final Trial!!! These last couple of months has been very stressful for my husband and I, but I thank God we had Attorney Slate and not a rip-off attorney that just took our money. Attorney Slate and his staff were very compassionate, trustworthy and were there any time we needed them for guidance, advice, etc... In my honest opinion, I feel that this would have been a “Mission Impossible” without Attorney Slate by our side!! I would trust him with my life and have recommended him to just about everyone that inquires about an attorney. Attorney Slate is no joke and is a BEAST in the courtroom, so if you need legal representation hire Attorney Slate, trust me you will not be disappointed and you will thank me in the end!! Dennis Slate and his support staff are the most knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and well organized legal team I have ever encountered. Dennis is the man you want on your side when it comes to divorce, child custody, CPS, and any other important family law matter. He is simply the best. He treated my child custody case as if my children’s best interests were as important to him as they are to me. He invests the time it takes to learn your case from beginning to end. He asks all the right questions and is phenomenal in depositions as well as in the court room. Mr. Slate is wise, witty, and not afraid to take on anyone. He’s experienced, realistic, and an all-around great person. Mr. Slate will be honest with you, up front about any difficulties you may encounter with your case, and does not beat around the bush. You’ll never have to try to guess what he’s thinking – he will make sure you know. He was able to help me reach a more workable custody agreement even though I felt like the odds were against us. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve these results without him. Look no further because Dennis Slate is the best attorney in the Houston area.

Dennis and Melissa are without any question two of the worse attorneys I have ever dealt with. They were never prepared when arriving to court, they provided false legal advise, and through their own actions place me at greater financial risk without every explaining to me the risk. Dennis told me in in very clear terms that one condition existed while in his office, then when we went to court it was determined to be completely false because of what language he and his staff wrote in my decree. Had I not hired anyone, I could have done no worse than what he allowed to occur through his poor representation and by not being prepared or understand the case at all. On top of their extremely poor work, they will also nickle and dime you for every penny they can get. I was even invoiced for a US stamp ($1.00) for that! If you ever want an attorney who is more concerned with how they can get more money out of you and who cares less about your case, this is your guy..... I would NEVER recommend anyone hire this pathetic excuse for a legal professional......and I use that term loosely.

My case was dismissed thanks to Mr. Slate and the evidence he was able to gather. I would not have been able to gather all of the following data without Mr. Slate and his team of professionals. He obtained evidence that CPS fabricated visitation and phone calls stating that they made specific date and time communications that they did not. He obtained legal documents that show discrepancies of statements made by the accuser between different officials of the state and licensed therapists. Never talk to CPS under any circumstances without talking to Dennis Slate, a family lawyer that specializes in CPS cases. Not all family law attorneys know how to handle CPS cases and will not be prepared as Mr. Slate. If you mess around with these types of cases, you are messing around with your life. Through the education of Mr. Slate and his team, he showed that Sexual Assault charges are worse that being charged with murder. I would still be in jail without the help and support of my family, friends, his team, and absolutely Mr. Slate himself. I recommend your life in the hands of Mr. Slate.

Dennis Slate and his team (Shailey Gupta-Brietzke, HeeJin Chang & others) are by far the most knowledgeable attorneys regarding CPS cases. After a horrible experience with a family law attorney whom only billed us and showed no measurable results, Dennis Slate came in and quickly devised an actual plan of attack to get custody of our son back. He was able to get CPS to Non-Suit our case and re-establish custody to us within 2.5 months with very reasonable rates. Our son was medically kidnapped in May and Dennis was able to prove to the court there was no-evidence for abuse allegations. Dennis knows what motions to file, how the system works, how to work with CPS, Child Advocates and Ad Lietum Attorneys. He lives your case to defend it to the best of his ability. His office is a well-oiled machine, always returning phone calls & emails immediately and treating you with utmost courtesy. Dennis and his team work diligently to keep your attorney fees low. When looking for an attorney to entrust with getting your child back from CPS - Dennis Slate is your guy.

I would HIGHLY recommend Mr. Slate to anyone. I came to Mr. Dennis Slate with a challenge that seemed impossible. Mr. Slate asked several questions and educated me on the law. After our conversation Mr. Slate and Ms. Dannielle Simms went into action. It was a relief to be able to place my situation in capable hands. Ms. Simms was always available to answer my questions and provide updates on my case. Her caring and reassurances were greatly appreciated in my times of concern. At trial time I sat back and let Mr. Slate work the law. It was a nothing less than amazing to watch Mr. Slate in action. To say it went well is an understatement. Mr. Slate used his knowledge of the law to expose the truth to the court. I walked out of the courthouse with a huge smile on my face. I would also like to acknowledge the helpfulness of Ms. Dalia Benitez. Ms. Benitez was always there to answer questions, receive documents, and forward messages.
