I recently lost my job and was looking for an alternative health insurance option to COBRA. I called New York City Business group to see if they could provide some guidance and was extremely pleased to find an insurance plan that offered comparable coverage for a lower monthly premium than what COBRA would cost. Dylan Cole presented me with several viable plans that my current physicians accept and guided me through the different plan levels and coverage criteria. We selected a plan that is robust enough to suit my medical needs and won’t be a financial strain. He worked thoroughly to make sure all of our doctors participated in the plan we chose and was able to determine what all our medications will cost. My mom, uncle and father-in-law all had Blue Cross/Blue Shield supplemental medical plans. They found out last year that Blue Cross/Blue Shield was pulling out of New York City and they needed to find new insurance. They were all stressed about it. My father-in-law mentioned his situation to a neighbor who luckily handed him a card for NYC Business Group. We set up a special appointment on a Saturday for all three of them. The entire staff was very accommodating. We met specifically with Rosa DeFranco. She explained all of the plans and options in detail and calmed everyone down. New plans were chosen by all and everyone felt relieved and satisfied. It was a very pleasant experience.

The experience was very pleasant. Mr. DeFranco was very professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. My 93 year old mother moved from Bay Ridge to Staten Island and because she changed counties her health insurance would not cover her any longer. Mr. DeFranco not only solved the problem but was able to get her even better coverage than she had before. While I was there I even switched my own insurance to a great plan that he was able to get for me. So we went back to Carmelo and he walked us through getting a new insurance company and the new higher subsidy we qualified for.
