One of the most vivid impressions of a trip to the United States is to visit Sequoia National Park. The park can be reached from the north-west and the south. We drove south. At the entrance had half an hour to stand up rather sit in the car, after which we happily moved to the park. From then on foot with a map, we have chosen interesting routes. Very beautiful place. The trees are huge. For example, the General Sherman tree has a height of 81 meters and 31 meters in circumference. Age 2,5 thousand years. General Grant tree 33 meters in circumference. On the road climbed to the rock (about 2 km altitude). From the top with beautiful views of the park and the mountain range. In the northern part of the park bathed in the lake. By the way, in the park, you can navigate by car. Cobras and bears we have not met, but the photo Cobra made in the day, showed us one of the travelers met. The weather was gorgeous. No insects. Very comfortable. I do not know what we would do if a bear met. It would most likely began to photograph (from a distance). We in the Urals happened to see them in the forest and we know. it is one of the most treacherous and unpredictable animals. Therefore we advise to be cautious when visiting these parks.

My husband and I loved Sequoia NP because on a Sunday in July 2017, we found peace and tranquility at a gorgeous and impressive park surrounded by the best of nature. As a comparison for readers, we visited Yosemite on the following Tuesday and it was such an ordeal due to overcrowding, to see sites that were okay, but not all that impressive after seeing Sequoia NP, we have no desire to ever go back there. But this review is about Sequoia, not that other park... So, besides taking pictures of the gigantic trees that SNP is famous for, we hiked the lovely and clearly defined Topokah Falls trail. It was about a 3 mile round trip on easy to moderate terrain. It is a great trail for all ages. We were impressed by the beautiful mountain creek and woodland vistas, as well as the majestic granite peaks. We constantly saw wildlife, so we meandered more than we hiked. We saw 2 bears. One on the way to the falls, and one on the way back. We also saw deer, a marmot, and the most adorable baby chipmunk (ground squirrel?) who was not afraid of us. We watched quietly while he nibbled grass seed heads, and he exchanged barks with his more cautious mother (who was hiding). When he walked he looked like a toddler, I expected him to tumble at any moment over the uneven ground. It was so cute! Later as we approached the roaring falls, a kingfisher flitted around us, posing for pictures on the rocks, then reprimanding us for invading his space. We enjoyed the falls in privacy for a while, before heading back down the trail the way we came. We were told this is a busy trail, and we passed several other hikers, but it was not overcrowded and the hikers were all very pleasant. Most animals seemed content to share their space too, and they were not startled by slow moving humans who spoke in hushed voices. The partridge did not ruffle her feathers, and the many squirrels ignored us even when we laughed loudly at their antics. After a two week roadtrip starting at the Grand Canyon and ending at Yosemite, Sequoia was the only national park I want to visit again. Its gorgeous, the popular spots are still unspoiled, and you can get up close and personal with nature; which also means more value for your entry fee.

Lots to see. Well-maintained hiking trails that are suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. Also applies to the parking. These are (especially for the disabled) but can sufficiently available, if necessary, be properly full. The staff - the Ranger - were all very, very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were as far as the park entrance ok. I recommend from three farms you want to take a look to take the Annual pass for all parks. $ 80 (single parking $ 30) and it is valid for one year! In general, the prices were surprisingly very moderate in the park. All in all, a real experience. Must see: the tree General Sherman.

Kings Canyon was very memorable place that I visited. I went there with my 3years old girl and 3month old baby. We brought tent and stayed for 3days. It was my first time visiting Kings Canyon so I was excited. While we were driving through the forest, I saw bear 4feet away. It was kind of scary but at the same time so cool to see nature so well preserved. Also we hiked the Boulder but it was too dangerous to bring baby so we had to turn back and come down. I heard many people died because they slipped and fall and sometimes they got stuck by lightning. Definitely not a good time to go up if especially if it is raining. Also where we camped, near by there was water fall and little water hole where you can have fun and just sit inside. Bathroom was very near by so I had no problems hygiene wise. During the summer, you should pack light clothing and also thick clothing because day time is hot but night time gets pretty cold. If you are taking young baby with you, you should put on very warm clothing for them at night. I had difficulty sleep well because my baby girl was so cold she kept waking up at night. It is good idea to pack really warm good quality sleeping bag.

If you want to visit both parks, you should plan two days. Originally, we just wanted to sniff briefly into the Kings Canyon, then went to the end but all the way down to the bottom and have made the small hike, on returning a black bear. The Sequioa is next to it, but could hardly be more different. We had unfortunately no time, we spent too much time in Kings Canyon and it was dark early. The road to the south is very narrow and littered with serpentines, quite great to drive, albeit exhausting, especially at night.

A real spectacle drive through this national park. Our goal was to see the General Sherman, one of the greatest living beings in the world, but the way to reach it was an experience: the Moro Rock, Giant Forest ... impressive. We saw some native fauna, though no bears against innumerable posters that warned of the park. A detail: the difencia temperature between the park entrance and the General Sherman Tree should be around 12 degrees Celsius. We were here on Sunday June 7, 2015, and was almost cold ...

A beautiful place but badly conditioned, there are few accommodations and if you arrive at 9 at night you find that the regents of the hotels or cabins have gone to sleep and so they do not bother putting a light with "no vacancy" Three hours Turning, seeing that the car parks in front of the hotels were almost empty and seeing the bright light. Exhausted and with the town asleep at 22:30. Horrible ..... nor in the campsites was anyone at that time awake. Do not go without reservation.

We stayed here for two nights and had booked via their website, so we had a good idea of what to expect and everything was how we imagined it. We stayed in the main lodge and the rooms were kept simple yet comfortable and very clean, offering everything you need (toiletries, towels, hair dryer etc.)The community area was cosy and the food was healthy and exactly what you need when hiking. You could order lunch packs for spending the day outside and should you come back too late for dinner, you could always help yourself to leftovers from the fridge or to cereals or fruit, tea, coffee and other beverages. The members of staff were always friendly and went out of their way to make all guests feel happy. We especially enjoyed the night sky activity with the telescope and the fire outside. Needless to say that the park itself is amazing. We would definitely recommend the lodge and visit it again.

Beautiful National Park with interesting forests. Especially the Generel Sherman Tree is very impressive. At the entrance to be reckoned with very long waiting times. Unfortunately, we did not know the snow chains prevails (although was no snow on the roads). We had to turn around again and buy snow chains for battered 60 dollars at the nearby restaurant. I call pure tourist rip-off. That is why only three stars ...

We have about pays in three rivers. From here it goes Ca. 45 min. Krvenreich to park. Admission per car $ 20 The park has a museum with information about the trees. Worth seeing ! The tours by car or on foot are well signposted. The Moro Rock is to climb well by stairs and is a great panoramic view of price. 8 hours in the park should be internalized. Food and drink take.

I was just there over the weekend. After paying $30.00 to get in, I saw a few redwoods. The Sherman tree was not accessible due I needed to take a shuttle to get there. Also this is not a redwood forest, in my opinion, this is a grove. You want to see a redwood forest??? Go to Humboldt County Ca. The county is mostly a forest. In a nut shell this is what I experienced: alot of pine trees, a few redwoods, a ton of garbage (mostly used diapers), & alot of Mexican kids pissing on trees in various parts in the park (also close to picnic/hiking trails). I understand when little ones need to go, come on people!!!! Dig a freaking hole (think of your cat using its litter box)!!!! Or take the child deeper off of the trail and let him go there, away from people, and where I can not smell the hot urine scent. Gross!!!

Living on the East coast for over 25 years, I miss this place! Growing up , my family went to Sequoia each summer and stayed in the cool cabins they had back then. I feel super honored to really know this AMAZING place. As a child, I experienced the awe of such trees. beauty, wilderness, and love for nature that will never leave me. Take your children here; they will have the love for nature instilled in them as they walk the meadows, play in the streams, visit Crystal Cave, climb Moro rock, hike to Heather lake, and much more. I showed my little girl photos of General Sherman, and explained to her, " that tree has been here even before Jesus walked the earth..".she just stared in amazement.

This was one of my favorite stops on our southwestern road trip. The park is very clean and well kept and there are shuttles running, but you can expect to wait for a while sometimes to get onto the buses. The trees are just incredible!! you can look at all the pictures you want but you will never fully understand the true size of these trees until your standing around them. The trees are all over the park so its not hard to find one to stop and take a look at and not be rushed or photo bombed by other people. I recommend going to beetle rock for an awesome view and an awesome sunset, especially if you want a nice easy place to get to without having to climb up a bunch of stairs.

National Park to see the General Sherman tree. It can be seen at the entrance to the spectacular view when going up you should be careful maneuni curve length. This park is amazing. You can do anything from a front country adventure to back country multiday hike. We went with young kids and stayed mostly in the main front country spots but we found it easy to get away from the crowd just a couple minutes hike from the road / main attractions. If you go you need to see the Sherman Tree and Grant Grove but take some time to get onto an less used trail and you will be rewarded. Another great thing about this park is the Rangers and other Staff are amazing and very friendly. The only negative was the crowd on a holiday weekend and the campsites were a little small and showed signs from heavy use by late summer.
