Yellowstone National Park is one of the greatest, and the first, of the 58 national parks in the U.S. Albeit, they are all pretty amazing. It is jam packed with hot springs, wild life, forests, rivers, canyons, waterfalls, geysers including the ever famous Old Faithful geyser. And of course, tourist! Tons and tons of people, but that is no surprise. Old Faithful is surprisingly on time and a little smelly (from the sulfur). The Old Faithful visitor center has the approximate time of the next eruption posted and it was pretty spot on. There are hundreds of people around that time surrounding the area to watch this happen. It was worth the wait. I saw a buffalo grazing and many other wildlife while I was visiting. The park is huge and there are many spots to visit and see and to have a picnic. The hike down Uncle Tom’s Point to see the Lower Falls was great! The stairs are study and easy to manage. It was a bit more challenging on the way back up, but I had fun. Since we are in bear country, visitors have to be mindful of where they throw out their trash, especially food. There are bear proof trash bins all over the park for this purpose. The park is open 24/7 all year round. I highly suggest you get an annual national park pass for $80 that will get you into all the parks. Otherwise, the entrance fee for Yellowstone is $30 for a car, $25 for a motorcycle, and $15 for hiking or bicycle. Grand Teton National Park is only 10 miles away and you can get a discounted rate if you want to visit both parks.

Came here for a 4 day family road trip and it was just barely enough time to cover the main highlights of the park. Yellowstone is overflowing with wildlife and nature. You are in for a real treat if you have never seen bison, grizzly bears, wolves, rabbits, elk, deer, or other wild animals that Yellowstone is filled with. They appear along the sides of roads and sometimes even in the roads. For those less animal-inclined, Yellowstone has countless geysers (of course the famous Old Faithful but plenty others) and hot springs (Morning Glory being the most famous and one of the most beautiful). There are plenty of hiking areas for you to wander around but just as many roads that let you drive through the entire park. We stayed at hotels and lodges inside the park our entire stay and found every single one amazing, each with their own unique quirk and touch. The food is great, albeit a little on the pricier side, but remember that your money goes to keeping this park in pristine condition. There are countless more reviews here already but Yellowstone is definitely the place to go and experience nature.

I have visited Yellowstone several times, and while the scenery is world class, the crowds, traffic, and insane behavior of visitors has finally led me to recommend that people visit any other of the many gorgeous national and state parks in the Wyoming/Idaho/Montana region over Yellowstone. The traffic on this most recent visit was insane - we spent at least 3 hours stopped in gridlock in the park, added to by mass construction on the West side of the park. There were no warnings at the park entrance about the crowds or the traffic - and if I had known the level of the crowds, we would have saved the money on the admission fee. Additionally, finding folks literally stopping in the middle of the road - because the wide spots are full - and exiting their car to get much, much too close to the wildlife, harassing the animals and adding to the traffic was maddening. You will have a much more fulfilling experience in many other parts of the west vs this park, as it seems that park management has no plans to try to manage the traffic, the crowds, or the behavior of the visitors.

Yellowstone National Park is mostly in the northwest corner of Wyoming, but also catches part of Montana and Idaho. It was the first national park in the United States, and the most spectacular. The park spans 3,468 square miles of volcanic geysers, lakes, Canyons, rivers, and mountain ranges. The most well-known Lake, Yellowstone Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in America, with the many mirrored snow covered mountain tops in the background and on the lake. The view is truly breathtaking. You will also find Old Faithful here, one of Yellowstone’s many volcanic geysers. The entire area has been deemed one very large super volcano, and if it ever erupts coma it is most likely to kill most things on earth, so you must come here soon. I spent three weeks in the park and did not have enough time to see the entire park. There are so many back trails to explore, animals to see, and flowers to photograph that it’s almost crazy. I photographed bison, Bears, sheep, elk, mule deer, and some kind of foxes.

Where do I start describing this park? It is just the most amazing place in the country in my book. It is no wonder that many have said how breath taking and awe inspiring this place is. So many of the traditional sites were great: mud pots, Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, and so many others. Just amazing. But one of the best things I did was hire a guide to take me on a fly fishing hike up Tower Creek. We hiked about 5 miles up into the forest along Tower Creek and then fished it all the way back down. We caught so many brown trout that I lost count. It was beautiful, peaceful, reflective and an amazing experience. I will never forget that day. This park is well worth the travel and cost. Plan well to avoid massive crowds of stupid people that have never been around wildlife. I saw one idiot almost get stamped to death by a massive bull Elk when she tried to take his picture and boxed him into an on-coming car. It was crazy. So be careful and enjoy the scenery.

This is another great National Park. Please be aware that there is a lot of wildlife here and they do not hesitate to use the road with you. Watch for wildlife and the other drivers who are so busy watching the wildlife that they are not paying attention to traffic. There are many things to see here and you should allow plenty of time. As of this week, there is road construction going on within the park as well. This will create slow downs/delays. Please bring your patience. Camping rates sounded reasonable but there was not availability when I was there. There are some National Forest camping areas nearby that you could check out. Note: This is grizzly territory and hard sided camping is required in many areas. There were a lot of people biking here when I was there. Please watch for bicyclists as well. They looked like they were having fun but I am sure they were also tired. I recommend that you visit this park. You will not regret it.

It was the best trip I ever took because the park was huge and had magnificent scenery. This trip is for the explorers and picture takers. The park has visitor centers, a museum, good quality gift shops, restaurants, hotels, a taxidermied bear, historic wagons, buffalo, geysers, boiling pools of mud and water, and plenty of picture perfect scenery. Safety things to keep in mind: This area is known for volcanic activity. If you go there, please follow the rules put in place, they are for your safety. There are wild animals, scalding pools of water with sulfur and bacteria (thrill seekers have died going in them), and unstable ground outside the designated walking paths. It is also hot, dry and has bugs. Good supplies to bring: Water or Gateorade, sunglasses, polarized UVA/UVB sunglasses (to minimize glare from the water surfaces), bug spray, hand sanitizer, first aid supplies, and a wide brimmed hat.

No words can describe and express my admiration to this place! Advise anyone to visit here, at least "once in a lifetime", summer will be a perfect time since the weather will be more convenient to do exploration and tracking by foot to several places. We would love to do ground camping, however, will not afford the chills as we come too early and extreme weather this year [snowing end of May] with few road still closed when we around. FUN FACT We marked "Grand Prismatic Spring" as our first stop, get excited and brings our swimming suit, hoping that we can swim there in snow ambience "nice feeling, we supposed" BUT OUPSS!!! The "spring" is not like the one we have in Asia. [we are die laughing for it].... Last but not least,.... IF you have the opportunity, do come to witness and experience the extraordinary natural landscape and wildlife with your own eyes here.

TIPS: 1) After visiting 9 national parks in two weeks, Yellowstone is the most crowded. With that in mind, you need to book hotel or camp sites at least two months in advance. 2) This is the largest national park. It takes almost 1.5 hours to drive from the center of the park (Old Faithful area) to the north side of the park (Roosevelt area). With that said, I would move to a camp/hotel each night to the side of the park you plan to visit that day. 3) The chuck wagon trip/dinner was worthwhile for my family of four. It is on the north side of the park (Roosevelt area). 4) Visit the Grand Tetons, which is about 45 minutes south of Yellowstone. Very beautiful mountain view. Enjoy!

Camp at back country site 0G1...if you know what you are doing. Be careful of bears, bison, wolves and the wind. 7 of our tent poles were splintered but we had brought gorrilla tape and fixed them. Bison silhouetted by geyser steam looking all magestic at sunset will be your view from the firepit at 0G1. But you may wake up with bison outside of your tent. Wait for them to leave, walk slowly away, Never look them in the eye, and stay far away from them. They will charge and kill you. Follow all advice by the park service, watch the safety video and quiz everyone in your group on what you learned. NEVER CAMP ALONE HERE.

Very unique experience. You just have to experience it for yourself. If you have a trailer, camper, or rv then fishing bridge rv park is the best place. Hardly any mosquitos and temps just right at 65 to 75. Bear sightings are more rear than they say. Buffalo sightings are very common however. "Dragons mouth" hike is a must. Beware that you might get stuck in a long line of cars leading in to some campgrounds due to people stopped by buffalo crossing or people just taking pics. It is a park ranger violation to stop in the road but people do it. If you get out of your car its a 25 ft rule from wildlife. Enjoy!!

Get up Early and beat the crowd. We got up at 6:00 am and were in the park by 6:30. WOW what a different park that early. the wildlife was everywhere and no crowds. If you wait till 9 or 10 the busses start coming in and every place has lots of people. Even during the day when lots of card are in the park traffic always seemed to move ok. Stay away from Hot Springs this was our least favorite place. Canyon Villeage to Lake lodge we saw the most animals early in the morning. The main attractions get really crowed with people (lots of busses) The views are amazing and roads are very well maintained.

Great park and must visit in a life time. Fantastic views, great roads and tons of places to stop by and take in nature. Some places are over hyped. A big negative is lots of places have boards for accessibility but they are not really accessible. Board walks will cause back pain to wheelchair bound people as they are unevenly laid, at many places they are too steep. Appears like its just placed to tick the box than to really offer help and assistance. Toilets are plenty in between but are so dirty, smelly and for absolutely emergency use only. We saw a grizzly, bison, elk, coyote, geese etc in the wild.

Try to visit this National Park either before Memorial day or after Labor day.i say this because in the summer once the crowd arrives from all over the world the roads and facilities gets very packed. I have been to this park three times. Twice before memorial day and once after labor day. To stay within the park you absolutely have to try and book literally the day the bookings open up in the website. Despite the fact I was online trying to book within a few minutes of being allowed to book, I had to split my 5 day stay in 2 different properties.

Amazing camping adventrue for anyone! Yellowstone is by far the most commercialized of any national park, but it still has its charm. No where else can you come so close to so many Wild Animals. The hiking is decent, but most of the main attractions can be driven up to. This is great for people who cannot walk well but still love the ourdoors. Do see Old Faithful, and the grand canyon of yellowstone. Check out Lake Yellowstore on a clear moonless night to see the most beautiful reflection of the stars in the lake with the Milky Way galaxy overhead.
