Awful! I have sleep apnea so my doctor ordered me a sleep test at a lab. Had a sleep test done at home once and doc said that I should go to a lab also. The lab says they got a preauthorization from United saying it was medically necessary and ok to do the test. Was told to schedule it. Months later and fighting a bill for the entire thing! $6700!!!!! Crazy. I appealed it twice with their claims dept and go no where. I sent in a ton of documents from 3 doctors who say it was medically necesarry. How can they approve something and then after the fact hit a patient up with a huge bill like that? Tried calling and their customer service is terrible. Hard to get anyone on the phone. Bunch of pointing fingers as they say it was not their fault etc. Now in my 3rd external appeal. Fighting to the end with these idiots.
