Chandra Law Firm was extremely professional and went beyond the call of duty on my behalf. I filed a law suit in Stark County in Court in Canton, Ohio. The principal of this firm, Subodh Chandra and one other attorney from the firm drove all the way from their offices in Cleveland to assist me. Some of the initial work was done over the phone and by email and then for logistical convenience for preparing the case, we arranged our initial in person meeting at a location half way between Canton and Cleveland in the Akron area. There was a time constraint and a filing deadline which involved a lot of work and driving during the winter and driving conditions were awful. At our first meeting in Akron the area was being struck by an ice storm and driving to Akron for me and the firm’s attorneys was perilous. Then, on an early Monday morning, we had to be in court in downtown Canton and temperatures were frigid Needless to say, this was not the best of times to be driving all over Northeastern Ohio. Additionally, the case involved a lot of work into the wee hours of the night and morning due to the deadline with much work over the weekend to be in court on a Monday morning. I was in the courthouse early and received a call on my cell phone from Mr. Chandra that they had encountered an accident and back-up of traffic on the interstate. Mr. Chandra gave me instructions over the phone as to where to go in the courthouse and what to do in order to facilitate and not jeopardize the filing of our case. I later learned that Mr. Chandra and his accompanying staff driving together sought an alternate route around the accident to the courthouse in Canton and I was relieved that they arrived completely on time and our filing was timely and went without a hitch. We were taken to an area of the courthouse where the judges’ chambers were located and were seated in a waiting room area. Judge Chryssa Hartnett came out of her office and greeted Mr. Chandra and his staff. This was a great relief to me that Judge Hartnett came out to greet us and that she was familiar with my case. I had met Judge Hartnett in person a few years prior to this date in court while she was campaigning to be a judge where I live. She gave a public talk and answered our questions and I helped a little on her campaign and of course, voted for her. Unfortunately, Judge Hartnett told us that my case had been assigned to another judge and would commence shortly. Then an aide to the court asked Mr. Chandra and his staff into the judges’ chambers. They met with the judge privately for some time while I waited in the waiting room area. Then, we were ushered into the actual courtroom where the judge, the attorneys and the court recorders processed my law suit. Once we were dismissed from the courtroom at the end of the case, as we exited the courtroom, there was a newspaper reporter who approached us to interview us about the case. This was a very high profile case that involved a violation of the Constitution of the State of Ohio by a public official. Mr. Chandra listened carefully to the reporter’s questions and answered them quickly with explanations of the underlying law that was litigated in the case. Throughout the entire course of my law suit, I found this firm to be completely professional, detail oriented, knowledgeable and effective. I would retain this firm again in a heartbeat. I have had experiences with other attorneys for real estate transactions and healthcare power of attorney for my elderly sick parents. However, this time out was quite different and I was pleased to be a client of this firm. I highly recommend them without any reservation whatsoever. In the end, I obtained the legal outcome I desired. The public official ceased their unconstitutional action.

I am writing to express my great appreciation and thanks for Subodh Chandra and his staff. Recently, I filed an ADA lawsuit which eventually was resolved through mediation after a year and a half. Attorney Chandra was willing to take on this case when MANY other attorneys felt unable or ill-prepared to handle it. As a Deaf man, I required the use of extremely qualified, certified interpreters. Not only were he and his staff patient and accepting of the additional time this imposed, they were willing to learn about Deaf culture and the Deaf community to adequately present my case.
